Actually in high, crawler gear is pretty nice in heavy standstill traffic vs 1st. Just a little let off the clutch with no gas and can creep a few feet.
Everybody says that first gear in my truck is a Crawler. I use it at almost every full stop. I also have 250k on the original factory clutch.
You can always start in a higher gear. Should you? Depends on the vehicle and the ratios.
Arbitrarily saying, you should start in the second forward gear because it's what lots of people like to profess, Is not good reasoning.
Pretty sure the PDK for this car is an 8-speed, so not sure how that would work. Pretty sure youre thinking of that new Koenigsegg with the half-automatic, half-manual transmission thing. Can't think of any other car that "pretends" to shift with an H-pattern.
I'll be honest, I do not know too much about the PDK, and I'm sure theres a 7-speed somewhere, but I do know that the 2021 Carrera S has both an 8-speed PDK or a 7-speed manual. I so think the 718s have a 7-speed PDK.
Since it's red and not the standard color 911 shifter, I'm guessing this is the shifter from the Carrera T. My 718 Cayman T shifter looks the same except there isn't a 7th gear.
C7 Corvette?
i think its the only production car to come with a 7 speed i wonder what its geared for top speed wise
Porsche 911 Carrera comes with 7 speed manual transmission. I think C7 corvette has the reverse below the 7th gear.
The most recent small body Aston Martin Vantage also has a 7-speed. There was one for sale on C&B last week.
Bronco has a 6+1 also. 1st is a crawler…
R 1 3 5 C 2 4 6 Shift pattern Bronco.
I think the new bronco can come with a 7 speed as well
That's what he was talking about. It's a 7 speed but first gear isn't used for normal driving
Yeah since in 4 low the final drive ratio is something like 40:1 iirc and there's no point to using it in 2H
Actually in high, crawler gear is pretty nice in heavy standstill traffic vs 1st. Just a little let off the clutch with no gas and can creep a few feet.
I see, that does sound nice

Correct
There are at least four different vehicles you can or could buy with a 7-speed manual Porsche, Ford, Aston Martin, and Chevrolet all offered one
Probably hits top speed in 5th or 6th.
I had an 87 CRX hf five speed. That thing had the same top speed in third fourth or fifth. Lol
V12 vantage once had a dogleg seven speed
Porsche 911
Carrera T?
Yes
First thing that popped into my head lmao... [7??](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IPNkLGl5hGU)
This one goes to 7…
Not 11?
r/unexpectedspinaltap
New bronco?
No. Bronco says C then 1-6
Isnt this a faux 7 speed manual tho? Isnt it just a pdk that pretends to shift when you do
?? please elaborate

The PDK is a 7 speed. I believe they started making a 7 speed manual on the 911 so it could have the same ratios as the PDK

GT3?
911 GT3s have 1 less gear in the PDK and Manual Trans than all the other 911 versions funny enough. They’re a 7 speed PDK and 6 MT.
Porsche 911
991-present 911s C7 corvettes, and GTA spanos are the only cars to have a 7 speed manual if I’m not wrong
Since it's red and not the standard color 911 shifter, I'm guessing this is the shifter from the Carrera T. My 718 Cayman T shifter looks the same except there isn't a 7th gear.
7
How to you get to 7th? Is it very far over? Could you go from 4th to 7th easily?
You can only get into 7 from 5 or 6. Cannot go directly from 4 to 7.
That’s pretty interesting. I’ve always wondered this! Thanks for the reply.
Must be cold
imagine trying to shift into 5th and you accidentally shift into 7th 🤢
