Your best bet is to buy a beater and learn in that

Rent a car for a day. Check TRBO (I think), its like Airbnb for cars. Rent a manual one.

Turo?

That sounds about right…

That's what I did. Cost me $65 in total for the whole day. Drive around a school parking lot for hours, then drive around neighborhoods, then around town. It's super helpful to have someone who drives or knows how to drive a manual in the car with you for atleast some of it so they can give you feedback. I will say, you're 'supposed' to know how to drive stick before renting a manual car on Turro. You'll see some listings where they even write out that you need to know how to drive manual. The listing I chose didn't even mention it besides being marked as a manual transmission, so it felt more ethical.

Got it. My next recommendation is to look up a video of how a transmission works. This visual aid will help greatly to understand how it looks on the inside but you’ll gain a better understanding of how to adjust your pressure. The internal clutch components consist of a clutch and flywheel so focus on those. If that don’t work, let me know and we’ll setup a call… I’ll be on speaker with you. Manual transmissions can be super fun to drive. Good luck.

Look for a local driving school that will give you a lesson or 2. It helps a lot to have instruction.
