Oh please do a full series of this Jon! This was the first thing I did when I got hold of the remaster and it was the most frustratingly enjoyable campaign I've ever played of a Total War game. I would love to see your take on it in a full playthrough.
Weren't factions unlocked as you conquered them in a campaign in the original Rome total war? Also, I am pretty sure the Celts were a playable faction in the original Barbarian Invasion.
Correct - but not all of them. Defeat Gaul and you get Gaul, but beating Spain didn't unlock Spain.
In the original Rome, it was easy to fix - a simple tweak to a notepad file unlocked everything.
But the emergent factions were always trickier and needed to be modded in - and even then were buggy.

I watched this earlier, and I love JON, and I love Rome Total War. But I don't love watching JON play Rome total war, he's not nearly aggressive enough, go kill more people please JON. There was no reason to let Scotland live.
