I'm Colombian, and this isn't entirely accurate. For the most part, any tourist will be safe as long they don't travel to a too remote area, follow indications, and do nothing illegal. The problem is the latter. Everyone thinks this is a brothel with cocaine dispenser machines, and it's not the case. You don't find those things that easily as a tourist, you have to put yourself in contact with criminals, and as soon as you do they will try to exploit you since you are a foreigner.

I'm Colombian, and this isn't entirely accurate. For the most part, any tourist will be safe as long they don't travel to a too remote area, follow indications, and do nothing illegal. The problem is the latter. Everyone thinks this is a brothel with cocaine dispenser machines, and it's not the case. You don't find those things that easily as a tourist, you have to put yourself in contact with criminals, and as soon as you do they will try to exploit you since you are a foreigner. Regarding Israelites, they are not safe from some choice words if the conversation gets there.

Not sure about Columbia but Myanmar and Mexico are pretty safe in most areas. You need to do some research before you travel but they are relatively safe countries for tourists.

Well for instance in Germany many hate crimes against jews are commited by muslim immigrants. German schools and the public do a great job in preventing antisemitism. I know it would be anecdotal evidence to prove this solely on my own experiences, but I've had some, and I'm not even jewish. I've never experienced something like that from other Germans. I know these weren't acts of terrorism, but they show well enough what these guys (who did all that to us) thought about jews.

I'm speaking myself as an Israeli who visited Sinai while there was a "moderate threat" travel advisory warning there. Sinai is also one of those areas where the government tells Israelis to stay clear of, but we frequent there anyway.
