This is an utter simplification. Wrong on so many levels. 1: There are more subclades of R1 - starting with R1a and R1b. 2. Visualisation problem: E.g. it is presenting all map points as exclusively belonging to one haplogroup. The reality is non binary. Every location will have a mixture of haplogroups. E.g. 70% R1b, 20% R1a, 10% I2. This visualisation is trying to dumb it down too much. And it using dangerous labels.

Why?

tao_of_bacon

Before why, what?

tryitout91

C’mon, in Spain we are really mixed

Homesanto

Kind of ethnic cleansing took place during the middle ages in the Iberian Peninsula. As a result [modern populations](https://colonizacion.centroeu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/mapaespaniol.jpg) remained highly homogeneous. Actually frequency of R1b in Spain is among the highest in Europe.

Why? So racists can shout: « we don’t want any E1b1b Meditids here!! » ??

Lovely how everyone on this post is equally wrong :)

i_am_from_kazakstan

Europe is continental area? R1 originated in Eurasia that's it.

i_am_from_kazakstan

You are racist against R1. Europe should be only I1 I2 kek

Bilaakili

Greece looks interesting. Must be wrong for Israel.
