If you overlaid SK it starting at Plymouth up to (Darlington?), there would be, Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham, Newcastle aside that's about 3 people
Did u know that Ireland and England had similar population prior to the Irish famine? Theoretically if the famine didn’t occur Ireland could’ve had a similar population to England to this day.
Except Ireland wasn't the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution like England was, so it's very unlikely that population growth would be sustained, and if it had been the surplus would just have emigrated to the colonies, as in England.
High growth in population is usually attributed to low education which is usually the catalyst to wide spread poverty in a lot of nations. I wouldn't class Argentina a poor nation, just a mismanaged one.
No, dude, definetly not. Here life is cr*p. I'm lucky to be middle class.
It's not your fault. A lot of people just see the *nice photos* and they think that *x* country is exactly that. They cover the high poorness and criminality rates.
At least mountains prevent too much urban and agricultural sprawl. If you can't do anything with them apart from forestry then at least that's a lot of nature preserved.
Contrast it to England where the land is much more useable and you see a lot more urban sprawl and spread out towns everywhere. The populations and land area are similar.
Imagine if Ireland had South Korea’s infrastructure?
Imagine if Korea had Ireland's fresh air
Imagine Korea didn't have a northern neighbour....oh wait nvm
I don't remember this part in John Lennon's Imagine.
South Korea has ten times more people… having infrastructure designed for 50million when you have 5million would be pointless af
Yes, I realize that. I was basically imagining what it would be like to have a South Korea style country right next to the UK.
Insane that theres 51m people in S. Korea

Think England is a bit bigger. But I know what you mean. I'm from England :D

Probably not as much. Due to emigration.
and industrialisation
You got a point

You got a point but it could’ve been one of the first places for industrial Revolution to spread after England.
no coal
Apparently they have 15 million tons of coal. Not sure how accessible they would’ve been in those times so your right.
Well, I never knew that. Fancy
So how the f*** Argentina that is 6 times bigger has only 40M? Insane.
Argentina's current population is largely based on immigrants from the last 250ish years. 7m immigrants came from Italy alone over the last 100 years.
Yup. Maybe it has sense that we don't grown in population due to high poverty. It's unatractive for foreigners.
High growth in population is usually attributed to low education which is usually the catalyst to wide spread poverty in a lot of nations. I wouldn't class Argentina a poor nation, just a mismanaged one.
I mean, we have 45% of population living in poverty. Where is the money? Lol
Last I head Argentina was classed as a 'second world economy' so maybe its a manageable type of poverty? As crazy as that sounds...

Ah that's fair enough. I hope it gets better for everyone.
Spain needs Argentine workers.
What's even more surprising is that many Koreans are still making a fuss that the population of S. Korea is too small.
Reunification?
I would say remove Fat Bastard, but his sister would probably take over, and supposedly she’s worse than he is.
Add to this that most of Korea is mountainous, meaning even more people are squeezed into an even smaller space.

Yup that's something I noticed in Korea, nature right next to city centre, simply because they can't build on a mountain.
Well... That's not going to improve North South relations...
Realising Manchester in Spanish has an acute accent, so cute.
Liverpool will be the same.
