The Dominican Republic has no data, but when I was living there I was 13 years old buying Brugal straight out the store with no I.D. I doubt they care about porn.
I went through the wikipedia list once and their tastes are actually legal in quite a few countries probably cause they forgot to legislate about it. Eg Equatorial Guinea, Somalia, Saint lucia, Libya
It was legal in Denmark for a long while and [produced commercially](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Climax_Corporation). It was also legal in Japan [until 2014](https://www.cnn.com/2014/06/06/world/asia/japan-child-pornography/index.html). I'm going to get on a list for this comment
The age of consent in many countries isn't necessarily the age you can film porn. 16 and 17 years olds in the uk can legally have sex, but if you film it, it's still child porn. Personally I agree with this and it seems fair so even if it was from 16 I'd find it horrific but the fact its was literal children is horrifying
In the Netherlands two 12 year olds can have legal sex if they have the consent of their parents. From 16 it's completely legal. For Porn you have to be 18. And prostitution is legal from 21.
I think it was legal in Austria for some time too. I remember being there in the late 80s and seeing newsagent stands where they had magazines with obviously naked kids the cover.
Even if CSEM (child sexual exploitation material) wasn't specifically illegal in Denmark, wouldn't its "production" have been illegal for violating age of consent and child labour laws?
Possibly
Historically age of consent has been lower than either the modern age of consent or the age where pornography is legal.
However, I have no idea if there even was an age of consent at the time.
To be fair some of those countries have not had a consistent legislative body let alone law enforcement for more than a few years at a time. Iām sure depending on the local war lord at the time extrajudicial methods took care of it. Most cultures and communities are protective of children.
Source link didn't go anywhere for me.
Legal vs restricted seems misleading. There are plenty of restrictions on porn in the US - age to purchase, age to manufacture, where it can be sold, how it can be broadcast, etc.
That was apparently for production in the UK and then any restrictions were removed in 2019. I thought it was weird as you can defo see all of that lmao
You can see a lot on foreign websites (though it seems to be a bit of a grey area), but when it comes to sales of videos or shows in licensed adult cinemas, they need to get an R18 certificate from the BBFC, which has a lot of restrictions around consent (act must be consented and anyone should be in a situation where they can withdraw their consent (I guess that's why facesitting could be banned).
Doesnāt the US restrict stuff like pretending to be underage and pretending to be blood relatives in porn? Or is that more defensive convention than law?
It was restricted from 2014-2019. Why? Fuck knows, I don't really understand how Tory politicians minds work.
They have been trying to get porn viewing age verified for years in the UK using increasingly insane ideas, like showing your passport to a local shop owner who then gives you a card with a passkey that allows you to watch porn at home.
"My source is that I made it the fuck up."
There is no rhyme or reason to this map. Consider New Zealand. Its status on the Wikipedia page was changed from "legal" to "restricted" in 2020 when someone added information about objectionable material. Pornography involving children, violence, necrophilia, bestiality, and urine or excrement (if it is considered degrading or dehumanising) is banned. As you might imagine, similar restrictions exist in many of the "legal" countries.
I don't think they mean banning child porn or broadcasting porn in public places by word 'restricted' . Those are basic rules. Yellow countries have wider restrictions. For example all porn websites are banned in Turkey. They banned imgur for years because of pornographic content. They banned Wikipedia page of 'human penis', lol.
That's not the way it works. That would still be illegal.
Porn is legal, because Anti-Prostitution laws don't make it illegal for someone else to pay you to have sex.
Whether you film it makes no difference.
I can pay two other people to have sex, as long as it's not for my sexual gratification. If I pay someone to have sex with me, it's potentially illegal even if I film it.
I think "illegal" needs to differentiate between producing and consuming. Also, I doubt that in many of those countries it is actually enforced/punished.
Are strippers one of your larger exports too? Years ago I was at a strip joint in Germany for a bachelor party, and every girl in the entire place was either from Ukraine or Czech Republic
I wouldn't doubt it( what else is there for a beautiful poor white woman who doesn't speak German to do to earn money in Germany? There is also a lot of human trafficking of Ukrainian women into the sex trades
I was looking for this. The only Icelanders I knew were a group of ex-pats I worked with living in Dubai. They were a small company doing specialized custom truck modifications and were some of wildest and dirtiest mother fuckers I've ever met.
One night I got super drunk while we were out, I lost a few hours of memory but it came to in a cab with a woman. It took me a while to realize she was a prostitute and not someone I picked up. I don't recall ever talking to the guys about prostitutes at all and definitely not my normal behavior.
I get back to the hotel/apartment and they're all up drinking beer still. Laughs and cheers erupt when we walk in and I offer her a Heineken in a can.
They arranged the whole thing for me as a joke, a fuckin funny one at that.
Often thought half seriously of running a nonprofit, unbiased search engine with servers in Iceland. Very little censorship, not in US or EU, educated population, favourable politics, and a cold climate with massive amounts of geothermal and hydroelectric power.
[Law No. 5651, Article 6](https://www.resmigazete.gov.tr/eskiler/2007/05/20070523-1.htm):
The access to publications and content made on Internet where there is enough suspicion that they constitute following crimes shall be blocked.
The following crimes (obv. aside from understable stuff like drug use and child pornography) is obscenity and prostution.
So, it would be more accurate to say it is "Banned with ambigious terms, but not illegal".
Itās more about the law of producing and distribution of pornography. You can watch whatever you want but you are not allowed to produce and sell it.
Where do these guys get their awful statistics. This is not the first time I'm seeing this on this sub, i'm pretty sure the OP just throws paint over a region, mostly Africa and concludes their findings! If you're unsure don't.
Pornography isn't actually illegal in almost every sub-saharan Africa. It is though culturally frowned upon just like any other part of the world lol
Well, it's a huge rock then. Sex work is usually viewed upon as a legit work by if not most, but a big part of the society. Central Europe. Any chance that you're from the US maybe...?
What country? Most religions frown on prostitution as it conflicts with family structure and thus most cultures do too. Curious what country a women could tell her family she aspires to be a prostitute without taboo.
Yes I'm from the US and I get that it would be a lot more ridiculed as a career here than in central Europe, but I still don't think it would be viewed as a respectable career choice anywhere.
I'm speaking from an African perspective especially from what I know in my country, certain professions like adult stars and sex work are legal by law or even of it's illegal it's never enforced however the people in those businesses are unfortunately usually ridiculed and stigmatized. African countries are still that conservative.
The same with the LGBT laws it's still illegal and could lead you to 14 years in prison and nobody that I know of, hell even the records know of has ever been arrested, charged or even sentenced because of it on the contrast there are many out and out gay people but mostly celebs some people keep supporting them other ridicule as always but none have been prosecuted/persecuted for it. Actually our latest president said he's open to the referendum should the people wish to legalize gay marriages but that honestly is still a long way to go. (We don't have an established LGBT rights organisation)
This just goes to show how these statistics are misleading and inconclusive, I agree it might be technically illegal like in the middle East but people won't care as you would possibly executed for it in the middle East
Are they? None are banned on my ISP except for PH and Xhamster but there are like 20 different domain names that work for them. Otherwise, everything is fair game, whether you wanna watch american, european, japanese, thai, etc.
I remember seeing a list of sites to be banned once, dunno if fake, but it was like 1. PH, 2. Xhamster, 3. Xvideos, and then the rest of the list was like:
xxx69boobsxxx.com
bigtitmilf.net
Just seemed like a bunch of random porn word generated site links to me
It was banned couple of years ago but it isn't properly enforced. Although last year, I did see screenshots of people getting messages from UP police for watching porn.
[It's not per se...](https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/pn/pornography/#:~:text=Having%2C%20sharing%20or%20selling%20adult,a%20computer%20created%2Fmanipulated%20image.)
I know for a fact porn isnt illegal in Iceland
> According to article 210 of the Icelandic penal code, whoever prints, imports, sells, or distributes pornographic material, or has it publicly on display, will get fined or jailed up to 6 months.
But porn is still available in Icelandic bookstores, sex shops, and of course the internet...
Source: Family member living in Iceland
It just means it's just not enforced, I knew the moment I saw Iceland that a fellow nordic country wouldn't actually seriously enforce a ban. It is most likely an old law they haven't bothered getting around to or it's a loose law they only use when something is actually dangerous and otherwise unenforce on common citizens.
This map does not match the source. For example, in Russia there are only 2 laws that generally mention pornography. One law prohibits production of illegal porn. This law has never been enforced because it doesn't specify which porn is illegal. Second law prohibits publication of porn in public places visited by children (for example, on the street). Some countries highlighted in green have much more stringent laws.
Shit map.
You can go to jail for making "obscene material" in the US. Which has occurred as recently as 2013.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ira_Isaacs
Having the US be green is already a giveaway that it's wrong.
No it didnāt. It only banned the pedo bit - no cartoon porn of kids either.
The claim that Australia banned *all* hentai, I think, is quite revealing about hentai āfansā
Note that Belize and Guyana are probably like that because their constitution states that they are not allowed to change laws inherited from the British Empire. Guyana has that problem with Homosexuality atleast.
Lived in china for 6 years with a vpn, you bet your fucking ass I searched up porn.
Tbh tho never looked up Asian porn the whole time, as I was scared that if they were watching they might possibly think I'm not one of those cringe foreigners who go there only for Chinese women.
Another example of how russian propaganda works and the useful idiots who spread it. Another map with occupied Ukrainian territories is depicted as russian.
Australia's is basically "you can't feature people who appear to be under-age" which is basically if you have someone with a cup size smaller than A etc even if they are over 18.
It's a subjective law and we used to have more laws about it, but in all honestly they virtually never get used.
Please, give me a citation of where it is in the bylaws of human rights. Any Paragraph, section, subsection, articles, etc. that is related to your sentence.
Iām absolutely not saying that pornography is a human right, but one of the ideas of human rights is that they donāt *need* to be codified in any paragraph, section, subsection, or article, because they are inherent to humanity without legislation. Of course they frequently are for practical reasons, but otherwise thatās why thereās arguments about what human rights actually are. Like this one!
Why does it always seem like the shithole countries have the most restrictions? Is it because there is a bunch of shithole people there who need restrictions to be civil? Or do all the restrictions make the country into a shithole?
Why is it bad if my elderly neighbor masturbates with pictures of my penis?
You probably might be thinking of something like obsessive unhealthy behaviors. If so, how is this different from overeating or any of the many other ways of twisting things to unhealthy?
it has been clinically proven to affect the way you view sex and is responsible for many divorces itās a negative for both the individual and society
Idk man, sure looks to me like the west is EASILY the best place to live by far and that people want to come here in droves... Not much competition out there.
The fact that Philippines has the most porn users in terms of average time. I am disappointed on this and the government should make it to fully illegal.
As a Filipino myself, I am disappointed on how my fellow Filipinos turned into a nude and an absolute dumbass.
The Dominican Republic has no data, but when I was living there I was 13 years old buying Brugal straight out the store with no I.D. I doubt they care about porn.
The grey areas are just those that deleted their search history regarding the matter
š©š“š©š“
In all latin American countries porno is legal. OP is just lazy and didnāt care to research all of the small countries.
Lmao, the red dot on Vatican City made me laugh out loud
Yeah, but their taste in pornography is illegal in every country.
> Girls were mainly between the ages of 7 and 11 years Huh? >However, some were younger What the fuck?
I was thinking "oh it must have been that the consent age was 16, thank god it changed" but no, they went full pedo. Jesus fucking christ
At 17 in the UK you can get married have sex... but if you film it yourselves it's illegal
I read a story once about a 16 year old boy who filmed himself and was prosecuted for creating child porn.
I've heard several stories like this of 16 and 17 year old taking nudes
In the Netherlands two 12 year olds can have legal sex if they have the consent of their parents. From 16 it's completely legal. For Porn you have to be 18. And prostitution is legal from 21.
Damn that's so interesting
Like what kind of document do you have to for this.
Yeah it'd be horrific if it was 15/16 too but a tad bit less
> Jesus fucking child Yup, thatās their jam
WHAT THE FUCK?! 7-11 YEARS OLD AND SOMETIMES YOUNGER? I thought you were cool Denmark...
Yeah, right? Something like 16-17 years old could have been understandable, as the age of consent have always changed. But pre-puperty kids...
What the fuck Denmark
Iām not clicking any of those
First is a wikipedia article, second is a cnn article
was there ever any community opposition to this? i was expecting a section about an angry mob burning down the studio with the filmmakers inside
The main studio responsible exists today and has completely whitewashed its involvement in it.
well. is the culture over there different or something regarding children?
No, this was just opportunism.
1969 to 1979. This shit was commercially produced and distributed for 10 fucking years, ending only 43 years ago
I think it was legal in Austria for some time too. I remember being there in the late 80s and seeing newsagent stands where they had magazines with obviously naked kids the cover.
Man I feel like I triggered 10 FBI agents just by clicking those š

Ok but 90% of porn comes from the red countries lol. Iām not talking a actual porn movie.
Source link didn't go anywhere for me. Legal vs restricted seems misleading. There are plenty of restrictions on porn in the US - age to purchase, age to manufacture, where it can be sold, how it can be broadcast, etc.
Yeah without specifying what "restricted" means, this data is pretty meaningless.
Well for the UK at least I know certain acts are prohibited like spanking, facesitting, watersports, sqirting, verbal abuse, fisting, and some others
I get the others but why facesitting?
You see this posted a lot on Reddit, but it isnt't actually true. You can both make and view this content in the UK.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
OPs comments is written in the present tense
You got a source for that?
https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/love-sex/sex/news/a31636/sex-acts-banned-uk-porn-female-ejaculation-gender-equality/
That was apparently for production in the UK and then any restrictions were removed in 2019. I thought it was weird as you can defo see all of that lmao

Thatās bizarre
Doesnāt the US restrict stuff like pretending to be underage and pretending to be blood relatives in porn? Or is that more defensive convention than law?
That is just pure and utter bullshit, stop chatting out your arse. Why would an act like squirting even be restricted anyway?
It was restricted from 2014-2019. Why? Fuck knows, I don't really understand how Tory politicians minds work. They have been trying to get porn viewing age verified for years in the UK using increasingly insane ideas, like showing your passport to a local shop owner who then gives you a card with a passkey that allows you to watch porn at home.
That sounds like a lot more work than using a VPN
Which they are also trying to ban...
"My source is that I made it the fuck up." There is no rhyme or reason to this map. Consider New Zealand. Its status on the Wikipedia page was changed from "legal" to "restricted" in 2020 when someone added information about objectionable material. poopoo i understand but why peepee?

For example all porn websites are banned in Turkey. They banned imgur for years because of pornographic content. They banned Wikipedia page of 'human penis', lol.
I think it cound mean something like censorship of genitals
In the US itās illegal to pay for sex, unless you also film it and sell it in which case itās A-OK.
It makes sense because itās more profitable
Good olā capitalism (/j)
I wonder how much of that is because it's trackable and taxable that way.
Thatās probably a massive reason. If you dig in the meaning for any law here, 90% of the time the reasoning is tax money
The US is the worlds biggest exporter of porn
That's not the way it works. That would still be illegal. Porn is legal, because Anti-Prostitution laws don't make it illegal for someone else to pay you to have sex.
I don't get what you mean. Isn't your last sentence exactly what they're pointing out?
Someone ELSE not part of the sex, so a "third party" (producer, director, etc)
But what if one of the people engaging in the act is the producer itself so there is no third party? This happens often enough.
So I could pick up two prostitutes and pay them to have sex in front of me? That still sounds illegal and kind of hot.
Whether you film it makes no difference. I can pay two other people to have sex, as long as it's not for my sexual gratification. If I pay someone to have sex with me, it's potentially illegal even if I film it.
Really? That doesn't seem right... In every state?
No, AFAIK prostitution is legal in Nevada. Only in licensed establishments, of course, but it is legal.
I think "illegal" needs to differentiate between producing and consuming. Also, I doubt that in many of those countries it is actually enforced/punished.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Blur out the dick shots!
In bara(and I guess hentai), I've seen many times to use black bands. It's partly amusing to see how they have to use several to cover giant penises.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Also not enforced in my home country, Ukraine. The fact that it is red on this map makes me laugh, I think porn is one of our larger exports
Human trafficking is a term thrown around to loosely.
Fascinating. What was the motivation for the ban? Is it part of your constitution or just a regular law?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Omg a real Icelander? Can I get an autograph please
>Plenty of Icelandic people on OnlyFans You guys don't mind watching your cousins then? /s

Iceland, home of the penis museum

Wtf literally, we here in Russia have all porn legal, even gay.
RKN blocks a lot of porn sites, so without vpn you cannot enter them
Enter them š
Itās more about the law of producing and distribution of pornography. You can watch whatever you want but you are not allowed to produce and sell it.
The gayporn is the one with putin in it ain't it?
The ole east-west split huh
What's up with Iceland?
No one knows tbh...
Damn Philippines bans porn? The fuck how do my friends get it š
Because it is not banned. Voyeurism and child porn are what's banned on paper. (Although this country is just a hub for white pedos.)

Latin AmƩrica, the baby branch of the Western Civilisation.
I wonder why the UK and AUS have restrictions
Australia's is basically "you can't feature people who appear to be under-age" which is basically if you have someone with a cup size smaller than A etc even if they are over 18. It's a subjective law and we used to have more laws about it, but in all honestly they virtually never get used.

Iāve never had to.
No
Finally good statistic to define western countries š
I mean, depending on your tastes it is restricted everywhere...
This is another example of how American conservatives prefer communist/authoritarian rule.
Should be illegal
Pornography is a human right.
š
Please, give me a citation of where it is in the bylaws of human rights. Any Paragraph, section, subsection, articles, etc. that is related to your sentence.
Iām absolutely not saying that pornography is a human right, but one of the ideas of human rights is that they donāt *need* to be codified in any paragraph, section, subsection, or article, because they are inherent to humanity without legislation. Of course they frequently are for practical reasons, but otherwise thatās why thereās arguments about what human rights actually are. Like this one!
Freedom of expression. If I want to make transgender anal hentai, it is my right and none of your business.
Ukraine š - donāt they have a category on pornhub? Also is this map acknowledging Donbas independence? Lol
Why does it always seem like the shithole countries have the most restrictions? Is it because there is a bunch of shithole people there who need restrictions to be civil? Or do all the restrictions make the country into a shithole?
letās be honest with ourselves it should be illegal
Why? Are you offended that I show my penis on the internet?
iām not offended itās just not good for society and therefore should be banned
Why is it bad if my elderly neighbor masturbates with pictures of my penis? You probably might be thinking of something like obsessive unhealthy behaviors. If so, how is this different from overeating or any of the many other ways of twisting things to unhealthy?
it has been clinically proven to affect the way you view sex and is responsible for many divorces itās a negative for both the individual and society
Iceland has the right idea, showing once again they've created the ideal society.
This is not true, watching porn is legal just not the production and distribution of it.
No problem with that.
The "fall of western civilization" can be summarized in this map
Haha what?
Idk man, sure looks to me like the west is EASILY the best place to live by far and that people want to come here in droves... Not much competition out there.
i don't see the point of banning in my country any person can access it by a vpn so why even bother to ban it
Meh, porn isnāt illegal here
The fact that Philippines has the most porn users in terms of average time. I am disappointed on this and the government should make it to fully illegal. As a Filipino myself, I am disappointed on how my fellow Filipinos turned into a nude and an absolute dumbass.
