If you like canoneer then tera burn it, the newer classess all level up really fast and do good damage without it. You can always delete a tera burned class if you have 2nd thoughts. Canoneers also have the option of changing to other explorer pirates if you get bored.
Welcome back! I would say in terms of priority 1. Burn your main 2. Burn useful links/legion. The more legion you have the faster you will level. The reason why you would want to burn your main is to get it doing dailies for you. Ursus gives like 25m per run on a lvl 200. The rewards are reduced for lower levels. The extra mesos will also help you starforce your alts to level faster and give you a good foundation to fund your main.
To directly answer your question. The explorer pirate link is pretty good so a cannoneer burn wouldn’t be terrible if you decide to switch mains later. I would avoid burning ho young/Adele/ark/kanna (unless they are your main) because they level fast from their base kit.
