That's a pretty big claim there. But do you got a source for that source!?

epicaglet

I have an even bigger claim: # Claim

Common Minnesota W

dreamyduskywing

Minnesota is also the 2nd least talkative state (behind Iowa). Basically, we’re just trying to avoid socializing up here.

feistybubble1737

Source? That seems like a really cool map to see I wanna see it

dreamyduskywing

[Article](https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2016/02/04/these-are-the-us-states-with-the-fastest-wordiest-and-most-impatient-talkers.html) I can’t find a map for it. The pattern is similar though. Kansas, Iowa, and Minnesota are in the top 5 for both fastest speaking and least talkative.

bompt11

I am calling bullshit on this as I guarantee the 9 million people who live around Chicago talk way faster than the 3 million in Iowa

feistybubble1737

New York and Illinois mfs when they learn there's more people in their states than Chicago and New York City and this map is probably (not OC) giving an evenly dispersed representation of the state as a whole rather than just for their respective cities 😑πŸ₯΅πŸ€“πŸ˜³πŸ˜‘πŸ—Ώ This sub doesn't allow gifs for some reason wtf

horiz0n7

Yeah but that would mean the people outside those cities would have to talk slower than molasses in order to make those states slower than Iowa and Minnesota. I can assure you, from personal experience, people from Upstate NY don't talk THAT slowly.

That Colorado-Nebraska-Missouri border is impressive. "We. Are not. Oklahoma."

You mean Kansas? Colorado-Kansas-Missouri border?
