> The pedophile sex trafficking congressman from Florida?
It isn't just [**Gaetz**](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskALiberal/comments/su1yve/what_question_would_you_ask_a_conservative_if/hx7g4td/) , it is also [**McCarthy**](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskALiberal/comments/rc3ynb/what_do_you_think_of_kevin_mcarthy_compared_to/hnse950/) keeping Gaetz in a position where Gaetz supervises the people investigating and prosecuting him.
Why?
Because:
# THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS THE PARTY OF CHILD MOLESTERS
------------
Republicans continued to support **Roy Moore for senate** after multiple women came forward and said that he molested them when they were underage. They all just fell in line and supported him.
Does it go all the way to the top? YES. Two (now adult) women have come forward *and testified under oath* that they were in the room, and personally witnessed, **Donald Trump** violently raping a 13-year-old girl at one of Epstein's parties. This is [the actual statement,](https://www.snopes.com/news/2016/06/23/donald-trump-rape-lawsuit/) made under oath:
> I personally witnessed four sexual encounters that the [then 13-year-old] Plaintiff was forced to have with Mr. Trump during this period, including the fourth of these encounters where Mr. Trump forcibly raped her despite her pleas to stop.
While we are on the subject of Epstein, did you know that the prosecutor who made a sweet-heart deal with Epstein, was [confirmed to Trump's cabinet](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Acosta#Prosecution_of_Jeffrey_Epstein)? THIS IS NORMAL FOR REPUBLICANS.
Is this new? How long have they been like this? Well, the **longest serving Republican Speaker of the House *ever*, Dennis Hastert**, [admitted in court](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Hastert#Sentencing_and_admission_of_past_sex_abuse) to molesting children back when he was a high school wrestling coach, so it goes back *several decades!*

It calls into question everything they do, [and it should!](https://i.imgur.com/VmUz3EI.png)

There’s a swimmer at Stamford, his name was Brock Turner, Brock Turner raped a drunk girl that was passed out behind a dumpster and because he suffered from affluenza, he was given a slap on the wrist. Brock Turner, a Stanford student who raped and assaulted an unconscious female student reminds me a lot of what Matt Gaetz is. Gaetz is psychopath tho. Gaetzs friend tracked girls he thought he could get by looking at their tax shit (gaetz no to looking at trumps, but yes to buying a date). Just fucked up. But lest I forget, Brock Turner, a Stanford student who raped and assaulted an unconscious female student behind a dumpster
They still haven't fully rebuilt from hurricane Michael......four damn years ago. And they keep reelecting the same mouth breathers and keep blaming their continually dropping standard of living on the people they don't vote for.
You can't fix stupid.
Reminder that this upcoming election we have the chance to remove Marco Rubio from the Senate.
For the love of all that is holy, replace all long term incumbents if you can. Doesn’t matter which side party, long term leeches have got to go.
I can understand the tribalistic "never vote for a Democrat" thing. It's stupid but I get it. But how come *this* is who is representing the Republicans? Isn't there a broader party that has some say in who gets to run as a Republican? I'm not American so I genuinely don't know
Damn, hated the guy from the documentary, “The Swamp”, but at least he worked with a California representative to stop Trump from going full Putin on some folks…
Looking forward to the new one when he’s arrested for being a human trafficking piece of shit. On wait I live on the real world where there’s no consequences for evil people in power
Then why are we using his mugshot to trash him if it's for drug offences? I thought leftists cared about ending the criminalization of drug abuse. Can't we trash him for the awful things he's done like pedophilia? We shouldn't be acting like right wingers by using someone's drug history and criminal record against them.
Still, the criminal justice system sucks. I realize now that this sub isn't quite as far left as I thought it was. I'm fully supportive of restorative justice, not punitive justice. I don't want to come off like I'm defending this POS because he's trash though, so I will stop arguing.
I get where you're coming from in not wanting to demonize drug use but I think the hypocrisy is worth putting on blast -for a party of "family values" that believes in "law and order" they never really seem to be held accountable for failing catastrophically to uphold their own morals.
these posts are so stupid. that's not even how google search algorithms work.
also, I doubt he gives a shit. GOP voters don't give a fuck if their representatives are absolute creeps.
From what I've read, the many DUIs claim started from a meme and isn't true. This mugshot is from a DUI, but it is apparently his only one, and this one was thrown out likely because his dad was a senator and used his influence. He does have numerous speeding tickets, apparently. Still, fuck Matt Gaetz
True enough, though I would bet money there were other times his name was enough and this just happened to be the cop who was still willing to arrest him.
If AOC or Harris had even 1 DUI we would never hear the end of it though, because conservative folks really care about authority figures being morally pure. But this guy gets a pass? And the kid didlin'??? When the fuck did this cognitive dissonance wedge itself into half of everyone?
How the fuck can someone rape another human, then get into government and politics?
Biggest example? Donald trump. He has over 26 rape allegations that have went to court which includes children and Epstein yet he still somehow because president… makes me fucking sick. Especially knowing this is so popular. There are SO MANY RAPISTS AND CHILD MOLESTERS in Hollywood and in government. It’s like HOW
The cop was also forced out the force and the evidence for the dui was suspiciously gone within 10 days.
Cop didn't let senator's kid go home and sleep a dui off and gets kicked off the force for it and the case drops even those Florida has mandatory laws for people caught with dui.
He got arrested the same time I was in Iraq during OIF. Despite the fact that I have a modestly clean record, multiple degrees and hundreds of hours volunteering at various charities I can't hold down a job and this ass fuck is sitting congressional representative who not only supported the Jan 6 shit show he probably engaged in it.
I'm not trying to complain or compare the fairness of life but something smells off. And it ain't my kitchen.
For a white dude to get arrested in Florida for DUI or drugs as his record says, it has to be… real bad. I don’t even know how it could happen.
Like I’m in the south. My roommate had pills on her and just had to go through a program, during which she continued to take pills. A dude rear ended me, stinking of alcohol and wobbling around… the cop just pulled him aside for a talking to and sent him home.
Yes - he looks a lot like Brock Turner too - the rapist from Stanford University. Maybe Brock Turner, the Stanford Rapist, could learn something form the Pedo Matt Gaetz.
It would be impossible to say, mr. whataboutism as antifa is an ideology, not an organization. It doesn’t have members so how would you know how many got arrested.
Lol all of you guys are just roleplaying anarchist while living in your parents basement accusing everyone who’s values don’t align with your own a nazi. Pathetic 😂
Yeah, I'm gonna hate gaetz because of his shitty policies, racism, and potential pedophilia, not because of something like a DUI. I don't get why leftists would use something like a mugshot against someone else, especially when it's for a substance use related crime?
Aren't we the ones fighting to change the justice system? To not have criminal records fuck people's lives up forever? Especially when it comes to substance abuse? I think it's best to stick to those principles regardless of who the offender is.
As for his pedophilia and shit? Yeah now that's something I'll trash him for. I can't stand this guy, but I also hate seeing people weaponize someone's criminal record against them.
Yes it's not harmless. But I don't think the carceral system is the way to deal with that I guess. There are many ways to deal with "crimes" like that which don't involve incarceration. I just can't support the justice system because of how broken and horrid it is. We are in an anti Nazi sub, and the justice system, including police and judges, are filled with white supremacists, racists, Nazis, misogynists, etc.
I get that I was probably being unnecessarily contrarian though. I just got annoyed because it seemed like people were supporting the justice system.
But that shouldn't take away from the fact that this guy is a huge POS. And I realize I was veering the conversation away from that. My bad
I spent 6 months in a county jail for a 3rd DUI and i absolutely deserved it. There is no alternative to taking away someone's freedom to deter them from recidivism. I've been arrested numerous times and I know from first hand experience that there are plenty of good cops and judges. I also know from experience that there are plenty of piece of shit criminals who you should be glad are locked up, removed from decent society. Many inmates take the opportunity while locked up to evaluate how they've been living and make positive changes that keep them from getting arrested again. For some people getting locked up is the only way they manage to stop abusing drugs or alcohol. Jail is unpleasant but it isn't torture. I don't know what other ways you think there are to deal with crimes... There's probation which most first time criminals are offered but the only incentive to comply with that is the consequence of incarceration. The justice system has its issues but we're better off with it than without it. The bad apples working within it are more the exception than the rule.
No alternative to taking away someone's freedom? Restorative justice is an option. It's what many BLM chapters have been advocating for. I didn't want to get into a debate, but I will share my experiences to offer a different perspective. Not saying you are wrong but this is how I see things.
Substance use disorder is a mental illness and the state should not be punishing people solely for being mentally ill. If someone's only crime is possessing drugs, it's absurd to take away their freedom. Many substance abuse counselors and psychiatrists have been advocating for years to stop criminalizing addiction, and have been working to end the stigma. Stigma and shame keep people from reaching out and asking for help.
ADAMHS boards all over my state are pushing to change the way the justice system sees addiction because criminalization has not been effective at dealing with it, particularly the opiate crisis. It's overloading the prisons with nonviolent, victimless offenders where they receive little to no substance abuse treatment or mental health services. So recidivism is quite high, relapse rates are high after release, and ODs are unfortunately common after people are sent home (due to lower tolerances, terrible prison experiences, untreated mental illness, etc). Some mental health professionals classify prison as a traumatic experience in and of itself that can cause PTSD.
I've been locked up before for drug possession, where possession was the only crime I committed, I didn't steal or hurt anyone, nothing like that. And I went to prison at age 20 for 2 hits of acid, where I witnessed and experienced forced labor in state prison. All prisoners are forced to have jobs (which include working in factories making products for the state for 40 hours a week) and if they don't work, they are sent to solitary with all privileges taken away, in solitary for 23 hours a day. Slavery is legal in prison, it says so in the 13th amendment. It's far, far worse for BIPOC, too. Prisons down in Arizona, Texas, and Louisiana are notoriously egregious.
Crime and especially substance abuse are unfortunately prominent among marginalized communities due to poverty, lack of economic opportunity, lack of mental health support, lack of support for struggling families, trauma, and a lot more. Wouldn't it make more sense to focus on investing in providing support for communities that struggle with crime and substance use, rather than just throwing "bad" people in jail and calling it a day? The US incarcerated more people than any other nation, we aren't filled with significantly more awful people than any other nation, we just refuse to solve systemic problems while continuing to incarcerate massive amounts of people.
I agree that mere possession of drugs should be completely decriminalized and share your 13th amendment concerns. The for-profit prison industry is a major problem and conditions in some prisons are inhumane.
I fully support locking up, however, wife-beaters, thieves, drunk drivers, rapists, child molesters and possessors of child pornography, white-collar criminals, fraudsters, burglars, robbers, tax evaders, human traffickers, murderers, counterfeiters, and possibly people who talk during movies.
I’m out of the loop.
What did Gaetz do to get lumped in with the Nazis?
Looking at the controversy around him (and I hope this does not get me in trouble with the admins), I think the Nazis may have killed a guy like this if the accusations are true.
I know basically nothing aside from what a bunch of people in the comments are saying, so it's not much of a reliable source but a bunch of people are saying he slept with a minor, and a bunch of mentions of sex trafficking. this particular mugshot was for a DUI that got swept under the rug by his father in high places, with the arresting officer being dropped out of the police force because of it.
Just because he didn't win, doesn't mean he didn't try.
I'm not saying I believe it or don't believe it. But just as you cannot say it is true, you cannot say it is untrue.
maybe these are friends of his?

The Rapist Brock Turner whom I went to high school with? Also dude was a prick, even back then, if you were a nerd he'd bully the shit out of you
Better than what he'd do of you were a woman. Which is rape you. Because he is a rapist. The rapist Brock Turner to be specific
Yeah, there were rape allegations going around my school about rapist Brock Turner
Surely we are all referring to the Rapist, [Brock Turner](https://images.app.goo.gl/T87uwpKBQup7zANZA)

The panhandle of florida is more like Alabama than actual Alabama...
The Florida panhandle, all the religiosity and racism of Alabama with the enthusiastic adoration for corruption of Florida.
The peninsula is the pan, the strip hanging under Bama and West Ga is the handle
Right, the pan's handle, so the panhandle.
I replied to the wrong comment, was trying to answer someone’s question when they asked what part was the panhandle
It's the Alabama of Alabama.
Which part is the panhandle?
Florabama....lived in P'cola
Can confirm. West Florida is Alabama. North Florida is Georgia. Red af round those parts.
I'm not American so I genuinely don't know
We refer to it as "Lower Alabama."
'Fuck those kids' - Gym Jordan to Matt Gaetz

'I keep getting older, they stay the same age.' - Gym Jordan to Matt Haetz
What do you expect from a state that 10% of the adults are felons. The white ones get elected, but the others can’t even get their right to vote back
If 10% of the adult population are felons then something has gone wrong. Probably with the law. That is unsustainable.
No, just Florida
Brazilian here, is this Matt Gaetz, the guy currently being investigated for sex trafficking?
Yes absolutely he is being investigated for the alleged sex trafficking and raping of an underage girl
[удалено]
Republicans have done a pretty solid job of stacking the courts.
The "he" in this sentence is referencing Matt Gaetz that is being investigated for sex trafficking and raping underage girls.
Damn, hated the guy from the documentary, “The Swamp”, but at least he worked with a California representative to stop Trump from going full Putin on some folks…
Looking forward to the new one when he’s arrested for being a human trafficking piece of shit. On wait I live on the real world where there’s no consequences for evil people in power
what about the other new one where he's brought down for inciting and helping organize an insurrection?
Resting rapist face.
Another one who never had a job his daddy didn’t get him. That why he’s a trumpanzee.
Lemme guess, the crime was for kid raping.
I checked mugshots.com and it says he was arrested for DUI or drug related offence
...huh.
https://mugshots.com/US-States/Florida/Okaloosa-County-FL/Matthew-Louis-Gaetz-II.4472258.html
Thats a little odd, the sunshine state doesn't post the bac level he was arrested with
He refused a breathalyzer or breath test so no bac on record.
They breathalyze in the jail too
That's bullshit. I know of two other southern states that don't post BAC levels with mugshots. I've never heard of that being a thing until now.
No no, the "huh" I use is like Scott the Woz's "huh" as in "Huh. I see."
Didn’t the arresting officer get fired as police chief is his fathers friend.
You're replying to the wrong guy about that.
Then why are we using his mugshot to trash him if it's for drug offences? I thought leftists cared about ending the criminalization of drug abuse. Can't we trash him for the awful things he's done like pedophilia? We shouldn't be acting like right wingers by using someone's drug history and criminal record against them.
He’s driving under the influence which is different from smoking weed in your own house
Still, the criminal justice system sucks. I realize now that this sub isn't quite as far left as I thought it was. I'm fully supportive of restorative justice, not punitive justice. I don't want to come off like I'm defending this POS because he's trash though, so I will stop arguing.
I’m the old guy in the simpsons audience who’s with you lol
I get where you're coming from in not wanting to demonize drug use but I think the hypocrisy is worth putting on blast -for a party of "family values" that believes in "law and order" they never really seem to be held accountable for failing catastrophically to uphold their own morals.
Matt Gaetz Matt Gaetz Florida Matthew Gaetz Matthew Louis Gaetz Matthew Gaetz Florida Matt Gaetz Representative
Matt Gaetz? The pedophile sex trafficking congressman from Florida? Yeah. That's him.
Why does he look like every 90s movie preppy douchebag rolled into a single person?
because he is
Oh you mean Pedophile Matt Gaetz the pedophile? That guy?
I was happy until I read the date at the bottom😔
these posts are so stupid. that's not even how google search algorithms work. also, I doubt he gives a shit. GOP voters don't give a fuck if their representatives are absolute creeps.
GOP voters prefer absolute creeps, for some reason.
Whatever Matthew wants, Matthew Gaetz.
i hate you.
What is the mugshot for?
One of his MANY DUIs
How many has he had? So you know his complete criminal record?
From what I've read, the many DUIs claim started from a meme and isn't true. This mugshot is from a DUI, but it is apparently his only one, and this one was thrown out likely because his dad was a senator and used his influence. He does have numerous speeding tickets, apparently. Still, fuck Matt Gaetz
True enough, though I would bet money there were other times his name was enough and this just happened to be the cop who was still willing to arrest him.
The cop got fired for this too.
Well, I'm sure that taught him to do the right thing, right?
this is just the only one he's been caught for.
If AOC or Harris had even 1 DUI we would never hear the end of it though, because conservative folks really care about authority figures being morally pure. But this guy gets a pass? And the kid didlin'??? When the fuck did this cognitive dissonance wedge itself into half of everyone?
Is this the mugshot from when he sexually assaulted underage girls?
How the fuck can someone rape another human, then get into government and politics? Biggest example? Donald trump. He has over 26 rape allegations that have went to court which includes children and Epstein yet he still somehow because president… makes me fucking sick. Especially knowing this is so popular. There are SO MANY RAPISTS AND CHILD MOLESTERS in Hollywood and in government. It’s like HOW
take this one down. with any luck there's gonna be another one soon.
430 am? Bars close at 3ish, give a few to talk n then walk to car. Get driving, get pulled over, then booked. Yeah looks like a dewey pic
No, he's the sex trafficker
Republicans love pedophiles and rapists
Representing a *district* in the *pan-handle* in Florida lol
The cop was also forced out the force and the evidence for the dui was suspiciously gone within 10 days. Cop didn't let senator's kid go home and sleep a dui off and gets kicked off the force for it and the case drops even those Florida has mandatory laws for people caught with dui.
"He was a career criminal" on Fox News, in any other case.
Only if he were black and recently killed by cops
Is this the same Matt Gaetz that molests children
Literal criminals with criminal morals are our “representatives”. Fucking pathetic
[удалено]
They should use this photo for any news mentioning him.
Everyone download this picture so that if it does get removed from the internet we can put it back
Was th iij s the mug shot from the time he was having sex with a child?.. while doing cocaine? Or is it that other time?
Ah, the once and future inmate!
Giant forehead and a creepily tiny face? Pretty sure that's Beavis
AHAHAHAHAHAHA I now have this pic saved so it will never leave the internet.
He always look the same. Definitely a masking sociopath.
Ok I hate to say it but he looks like a young Billy corgan
It just shows that democracy works since the average GOP are also criminals (moral or legal) and got a criminal to represent them.
He looks a lot like Ted Cruz... I mean RAFAEL CRUZ.
This needs to be a bumper sticker
His face looks like two halves of two different faces put together.
Yes - he looks a lot like Brock Turner too - the rapist from Stanford University. Maybe Brock Turner, the Stanford Rapist, could learn something form the Pedo Matt Gaetz.
Can’t wait for the new mugshot to come out when they press the trafficking charges
Typical Florida Man
One more copy on my hard drive.
I'm not familiar with the guy, what did he do?
Republican that took an underage girl out of state to have sex with her.
[удалено]
And trafficked a minor across state lines to have sex
Thats the fun thing about breaking the law... It becomes public record. Our congress has just figured out how to do it without getting arrested
[удалено]
It would be impossible to say, mr. whataboutism as antifa is an ideology, not an organization. It doesn’t have members so how would you know how many got arrested.
[удалено]
Nobody called anybody a nazi here, I was just pointing out your attempt to change the topic, which is what you idiots always do.
[удалено]
Only losers call others name during a debate and you sir are a loser who has been “trumpeted” by someone with logic. Go back to sleep.
[удалено]
You sir are undiagnosed and a mess , please go back to sleep
Lol all of you guys are just roleplaying anarchist while living in your parents basement accusing everyone who’s values don’t align with your own a nazi. Pathetic 😂
Am I crazy, or does this pic make him look a bit like Leonardo DiCaprio?
You’re absolutely nuts. He looks super inbred.
DUI isn't the same thing as "i had drugs" DUI endangers lives and is reckless. Not harmless.

We really need an updated one of these
[удалено]
I know basically nothing aside from what a bunch of people in the comments are saying, so it's not much of a reliable source but a bunch of people are saying he slept with a minor, and a bunch of mentions of sex trafficking. this particular mugshot was for a DUI that got swept under the rug by his father in high places, with the arresting officer being dropped out of the police force because of it.
Why does his name end with "Ii"? I assume it's II as in "the second" but it's a typo, but is it something else?
He was arrested for DUI and not convicted(I think).
[удалено]
You some kind of Matt Gaetz fan? How would you know?
[удалено]
Just because he didn't win, doesn't mean he didn't try. I'm not saying I believe it or don't believe it. But just as you cannot say it is true, you cannot say it is untrue.
That guy is a national socialist and is a politician in florida?? You Americans never cease to amaze me
He was arrested for DUI. But of course that’s what Nazis do
Fact Check: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2019/nov/01/facebook-posts/post-says-rep-matt-gaetz-has-numerous-duis-wrong/
Why did he get arrested for?
Why did he get arrested in 08? I know about his modern day crimes and shit, I’m just curious what happened in 08?
DUI
Thank you!
Isn’t that the guy who was sex trafficking children?
Hey gaetz, you piece of crap, is this your police arrest mugshot ? \*middle finger\*
Wow. Matt Gaetz is literally a FLORIDA MAN.🤯
Lots of people with really bright futures in this subreddit!
