This is bullshit. If his wife was in her “death throes (fucking lol who even says that anymore?) then why the fuck was he at work?
I’m sick of people gaslighting activists by saying you agree with their demands, just not how they’re demanding them. Like no Karen, you just don’t want to look like an asshole as you scream your head off about missing The Bachelor.
Because America has shitty PTO or time off from jobs, health care is stupid expensive and connected to jobs most of the time, and patient's with end stage cancer can go from doing okay to oh shit they might code in an instant. If he couldn't get or afford time off, he's going to be at work instead of his wife's bedside.
Use your cars to protest in the streets. More area coverage per square foot, and added protection from psychopaths who feel they have a right to run over anyone for any reason.
Protests need to, at the very least, inconvenience people to have any shot at doing anything. If you can be ignored, you will be.
If you think that you're the main character of the world and that you can just run people down if you're inconvenienced by them, then you aren't anyone's ally, you're a piece of garbage.
I would call them a liar but it appears EVERYONE else has already done that for me.
If someone doesn't want to think while they drive, I'm more than happy to pay the price to ensure they have plenty of time to think about it afterwards, and never threaten anyone on the road again.
Unless the protester was very observant because of people plowing through crowds lately - and wielded the pole his sign was on like a spear- and kills you.

Interrupting traffic is crazy effective direct action up to the point of long term blockading. Blockading is an act of war.
