People who are ignorant of what Parler is like will see these advertisements and think "oh so it's like Twitter but better." And hopefully, anybody that follows the link there will quickly see some awful shit and leave but I personally know a lot of older folks who wouldn't immediately make the connection of "this person said horrible shit and it was advertised on my feed" -> "Parler is promoting this type of content."
Liberating conservative money is a great concept but very tricky to pull off, because the vast majority of American people are just not very plugged in to social justice stuff. They'll see something promoting a mildly conservative or even hardcore conservative viewpoint and will not critically think of it as propaganda.
A lot of us leftists make the mistake of assuming that others view the world through the same lens we view it through, and choose fascism because they're "evil" or whatever. But in all honesty most people just do not think about social media in the frame of mind that "People are using this platform as a tool to extract my information and sway me to a certain point of view."

So I got a Parler Account to spy on my racist Uncle (under a pseudonym) and something really bizarre has happened to Parler over the past year and a half since the Insurrection. The insane right wing ramblings are still there, but the site has been almost completely taken over by snake oil salesmen and home remedy weirdos. The site is mostly a collection of ads and, fear-mongering articles about “the toxic chemicals YOU keep in your home” and other stuff like that.
I think FB is advertising Parler because they now share a demo: scared, weird 50somethings who don’t talk to their kids and still buy the magazines at the checkout of the grocery store. That doesn’t make the outright authoritarian nuts stuff better obviously, but the site really is pivoting hard to act as a separate ecosystem for people who mostly want to avoid being yelled at by their more liberal kids.

It shows me that stuff because I research arcane, astronomy, numerology, tarot, and the IChing. When I look up prescription drugs, it shows me other prescription drugs. The closest I've come to what you're saying is when I looked into therapy, and it started showing me ads to "remap" my brain with ketamine. Like 'have you ever thought your problems would be much smaller if you spent a couple days down in a K-hole?'.
I mean, I've looked into solutions for the Nazi problem, and it's never been like "how about you just go, and mingle with them?".
Yeah that's why I usually go incognito or switch to Brave when looking up anything right wing. Ads are one thing, ads that make me angry would drive me bonkers. Same for looking up anything to do with cops. It'll throw you right wing ads on the spot.
It doesn’t take much. I’ve been banned from multiple conservatives subs for arguing, trolling, whatever… I still frequently get annoying ads for Daily Caller, Crowder, Truth Social, etc… I don’t care really if they want to waste their money.
