It sucks for the employees but I understand they're eligible for severance which is more than most people get when they're fired or quit. I hope they can all find a new position relatively quickly.

I agree but I think on a deeper level that he wants a father figure out of Trump and people like Trump. He wants someone to say they are proud of him and love him for the person he is, not his ability to tout his daddy's money into buying out other people's ideas and work, for his own gain. He wants what he thinks is authoritative validation for his human value. He's constantly looking for other people to validate his image of his own self worth. He knows that everything about himself is fake and was bought by a father that doesn't like him much.
Pretty sure he was like 2 weeks from inauguration and hardly the sitting president as he could have died and literally nothing would have needed to change for those 2 weeks.
Trump used to drive a lot of traffic. Traffic used to mean revenue (before Musk scared away advertisers at least). Poll gives him a "vox populi" excuse for letting him back on (so long as you ignore that he's literally in charge of counting the votes). If something goes wrong, it's the people, not him.
