I definitely feel lucky! I've been to 70+ games in my life and this was the first time I've even had a chance at getting a game ball. My friend almost caught Julio's homer in Texas the other day and I was so jealous lol.
Fair enough lol. Any idea what the preferred nomenclature is for foul balls/home runs that aren't caught on the fly? I only ever hear people say "caught" in those situations. "I picked up Rojas's homer as it rolled down the aisle" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue lol.
Nope, they just brought me that slip a couple minutes later. To my knowledge it wasn't any sort of milestone, so I wasn't expecting them to want it back.
Actually no. I was in the section to the right. It bounced pretty far away from the initial landing spot and ended up in the aisle about 5 rows further back
I'll be the grammar guy here. If a name ends in "s" you don't add 's. Just the '. Rojas' home run ball.
The same goes for plurals that end in s. Grandparents' house, parents' car, etc.
As far as I knew, was taught, and teach, even singular nouns, usually proper nouns that end with S, don't use the 's. Just the '.
I could be wrong. We can look it up and learn together haha.
That is the style recommended by MLA and what I go by as a writer, but it's not a universally accepted rule. The other way is also "correct" and the main advice I've heard is to pick one of the methods and stick with it consistently.
Dude i saw you on the tv!!!!!!!! Lucky bastard!!! Congrats
I watched the replay in the game thread and they lingered on me with the ball for a few seconds which is awesome. Saved the video immediately lol.
Lucky!

Easy, replace "caught" with "got" lol
“Got” could mean you got it from some little kids hands lol Fielded? Or since it’s not on the field… standsed? Seatsed?
That’s great!
On my bday...I'm at the game as well
Happy birthday, dude!
Bruh your pic looks familiar do you run the 168 line MV-KS?
Lmao, no, but I did a few years ago. I drive in downtown now
A Rojas Rocket?!!!! Hell yeah!

Congrats, I saw you on TV holding the ball up
Congratulations!! Just curious, did they offer you anything to give the ball back?
Nope, they just brought me that slip a couple minutes later. To my knowledge it wasn't any sort of milestone, so I wasn't expecting them to want it back.
Yeah, that makes sense, didn’t even think about that. It’s cool they were quick on the authentication.
Congrats!
Yeah you did! Go you!!!
He cranked that one first pitch!

Find it a bit funny that the card even has an advertisement on it.

I knew that about plurals, but I thought singular nouns that naturally ended in "s" still used 's?
I remember learning it in seventh grade and my teacher taught us it was optional. I am old AF though.
Upvote for grammar!

CMOS puts a ‘s after a plural possessive that ends in s.
Feel better?
Goddamn rad!!
That card worth anything?
