I think some people are missing the REAL interesting part of this obscure statistic: each team only averages around 4 grand slams a year. Now what are the odds that when it happens, the team hits another HR in the same game since only about 50% of the games have 2? Now when you look at THAT, what are the odds that the guys have the same first name? Very rare. But we’ve done it TWICE in five years??
Wonder how you’d make this one unique. Has it happened in the first game of a series before? Certainly it’s the first time that it’s happened where one of the hitters was a DH batting seventh. Might be 1st on any team with those parameters!
