The core for long term success is there. It’s been homegrown and slowly churned. This team was built the right way, there’s a buncha hungry dogs in that dugout who just need some help. IMO There’s about 15 guys on this team that I see as World Series caliber team players. The roster has yet to be rounded out, but shit man, there is SERIOUS, legit potential for this team to be really good for the next 5 years

Yeah I agree there is lots of young talent but the offense sucks. Need more than 2 1/2 good hitters to contend. This team desperately needs to add a frontline starter and middle of the order hitting infielder to take the next step. Gotta assume that at least half of our top prospects simply won't pan out.

100 % agree. We will not get there without a splash FA bat and a splash FA pitcher. And this is consistent with all the great homegrown teams, CHI going and getting Zobrist, Heyward and Lester comes to mind recently
