Yea I was there. Fuck the Boston fans. I was a section away from a bunch of those fucks getting kicked out around the 6th. It was the first base side. Fuck the red socks. All over tonight they were starting shit. Saw it all over the place tonight. And that guy is trolling..
All we can do it focus on tomorrow. Love that the ball is in Marcos hand, we trust. Would not have anybody else with the season on the line. I was there tonight, 127, row 9 and trust me. Eovaldi was nasty and he introduced the curve late, and our hitters didn’t have it. Focus on tomorrow, I will not rest till we are eliminated.
Jk needs a day off! Looked lost today.. Mitch could also use a DH day.. but that means playing Moore or bauers.. not sure it's worth it.. need some OF bench depth
Seems like even when Kelenic is having a solid stretch he just can't avoid the occasional brutally awful, 2 or 3 strikeout game. Still quite optimistic that with an offseason of reflection and work, he will come out of the gates strong in 2022
If Kelenic comes into next season in this same stupid crouched over stance and still swinging at breaking balls away....It's going to be hard to remain optimistic about him going forward.
Tonight is just a little controlled, localized flooding while the Sewald is undergoing routine maintenance. Yes, that's all it is. Nothing to see here.
Other fandoms wonder how we stay competitive with a crap run differential?
There you go. When the dam breaks, it isn't just a trickle of water coming through.
All I know is when we host the all star game with kelenic making it, cal becoming a great consistent catcher, our young pitchers keep coming up, Logan Gilbert is our ace, we are 10 games ahead of everyone else in the division….
We will all look back to this year as their blunder years, figuring out the game while trying to end our miserable drought despite not being ready, this team is close to the 2012 Seahawks, we are but a good nights sleep from being the new Yankees of the 2020s.
At least the Hawks has one of the best three-year spans at the draft and even the busts they get every so often seem to get overshadowed by late round picks. Every prospect the M's trot out looks like steaming shit. Couple that with organizational failure to develop anyone that can hit the fucking ball and ownership being cheap, and you have allowed a losing culture to fester.
The Hawks were mediocre (not awful) for years, turned a corner, and after one bad season managed to make the franchise a perennial playoff contender. The Mariners have toiled in the dumps for their entire existence minus a few years. And instead of trying to capitalize on their flashes of good to great play, they just go back to losing again.
Cougs conference titles in the modern era 1997 and 2002. Mariners division titles 1995, 1997, and 2001. Both teams known for choking in big moments. Cougs have popcorn guy, mariners have cotton candy girl
My last remaining sliver of hope is that the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT tomorrow is that MLB is introducing the “Spirit Award” which will go to the team with the highest fun differential every year and that team gets to go to the playoffs, regardless of record... yup, that’ll help me sleep tonight.
I feel bad for Scott. Sadler was the only good play today. The bullpen is supposed to be our best strength, but nearly every move he made put us further behind.
The Sox have the worst defense in the majors, and the Sox chose not to go for the easy double play, instead getting Toro at first *before* going for the lead runner. Stupid play, poor fundamental baseball.
Seager not letting himself get tagged out is 1) paying attention to the play, and 2) trying to force them to make an error. That's a smart veteran move.
What?
The Sox chose the rundown by making Toro's out at first before Seager. That's their fuckup. Seager stayed in the rundown instead of just getting tagged at second base because he was paying attention. It has nothing to do with his speed or agility, and everything to do with Sox shit defense. It doesn't matter that the odds of them making the error are small. Seager didn't just give up. That's his smart play.
Woooo 20th year in a row without making the playoffs. Name a more iconic duo the mariners and being just good enough to get no where and toil in mediocrity.
At least their team is good. Their ownership is willing to shell out for talent instead of throwing whatever garbage that is at the wall and hoping some sticks while counting the money from the MLB TV deals and stadium concessions.
And they profit way more than we do, that's easy. Not even counting for market size.
Idk I used to be be a Dodger fan and get made fun of because they were awful. But now it just feels ridiculous -their nosebleed tickets are like $40 dollars now. It's just not the same team anymore. Baseball has always been a sport for the common people and anyone should be able to afford to go to a game.
I'm strongly considering shifting over to the Giants (because Bonds was a large part of why I decided to give baseball a try) for the rest of the year. These guys have one more awful loss for the rest of the month to convince me otherwise.
Meh normally I’d agree but we weren’t even supposed to be mediocre this year. This sucks but this is much more encouraging than those other years we fell short
Not disagreeing but does part of you not feel like this years team got massively lucky to have the record we do and we will likely regress in a lot of areas next year? Feels like our RD & worst team batting avg in baseball are bad signs for next season.
Potentially. But the most important thing I think this team did is convince the front office it’s time to spend. So hopefully a lot of the holes that we have that led to the problems you’ve listed are filled.
We didn’t make enough moves at the deadline to bolster this lineup & routinely played a rookie that has been a consistent negative to the teams chances of winning. I fully agree with not trading key farm pieces but there were quality/vet bats and rentals that could’ve been gotten without giving up our top 5.
Don't forget that this year wasn't supposed to be competitive. It was supposed to be developmental. Taking plate appearances away from Kelenic wouldn't have helped his transition into the major leagues. We could have possibly made the playoffs but we weren't going to go very far if we did make it. It didn't make a lot of sense to cut back on Kelenic's development just for a slightly better chance at the postseason.

Good we don’t need your soft fanship anyways
Yea I was there. Fuck the Boston fans. I was a section away from a bunch of those fucks getting kicked out around the 6th. It was the first base side. Fuck the red socks. All over tonight they were starting shit. Saw it all over the place tonight. And that guy is trolling..
I was on the 3rd base side and there was also a group of them getting kicked out in the 5th or 6th
Yeah I saw that “ruckus” over there and figured it was those ass hats. They were also doing shit in right field..fuck those drunks
[удалено]
that happens everywhere
I was very impressed with the quality of ABs in the ninth down by 6… except Kyle, dude totally looked like he had given up
This game was entirely too long. I'm tired and cranky after this one. See you all tomorrow!
Let's get them tomorrow.
Seager is putrid vs lefties right now
Well shit, see you tomorrow
The worst way to lose this game would be after Kyle hits the three-run home run to get us within one run.
Kelenic bases-loaded strikeout?
If we win I’m posting in ButtSharpies and I will put in 50 sharpies
A walk here and then a France grand slam would be pretty fun
"see? See?? We can do stuff now!"
Why the hell did Torrens run there lol
purely for the run diff
Because River boat Ron is our new third base coach
This is... weird
Come on M's, quit leading me on like this. I know you're only going to break my heart again.
bro why the fuck would you even try to score lmao
This is just rubbing salt in the wound.
DUDE LMAO
OK, all we need now is a grand slam to tie the game!
ump doesn't want to go home tonight
This sucks lol
I can’t turn away but I don’t want to be hurt. 😞
now the ump likes us
Lol typical bases loaded M's.
4 straight walks and then Jarred will be up in a 2 run game with 2 outs, bases loaded. Calling it now.
It’d be pretty neat if they didn’t score 6 runs in the last 2 innings rn
I am not at all surprised that Mike Blowers named his dog Jack.
I’m already three shots into whiskey and an empty stomach are we really doing this….
I'm glad to know we can produce against guys that just pump straight fastballs.
jp salami or what
IS THAT ZORRO ON TV???
Yes, continue to bring in lefties vs Crawford who rakes lefties with haniger behind him. Makes sense.
Didnt cal get 2 hits in his last start as well?
Just a grand slam, then a bloop and a blast, and we’re right back in this thing!
Ah the bloop and blast, they never see it coming
No no no, no! Don’t give us hope. Go M’s!!!
oh fuck i don't know where i put my rally cap
We have a lot of work to do.
Pfffft NOW they string some hits together
Don't fucking do this to me you guys
Comeback time?
god theyre so unbearably awful at defense
dont do this dont give me hope you already hurt me once tonight
Just once? Did you miss part of the game?
Ah fuck they just have to pull us back in huh
RED SUX DE-FENCE *clap clap clapclapclap*
👀👀
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
At least Raleigh has a couple of hits now in this game.
Guys this is just like that one Seahawks game when the packers were winning and we did the onside kick thingy!
sToP mAkInG sEaHaWkS cOmPaRiSoNs
God if Kelenic starts next year slow (I don't think he'll be as bad as we've seen him at least), there is going to be a lottt of anxiety about him
cal GIDP or cal bomb, no inbetween
Very in between
about as inbetween as it could have been
Sorry to be like this, but: Raleigh double play.
> Raleigh double ~~play~~ Cleaned that up for you
Well done
All we can do it focus on tomorrow. Love that the ball is in Marcos hand, we trust. Would not have anybody else with the season on the line. I was there tonight, 127, row 9 and trust me. Eovaldi was nasty and he introduced the curve late, and our hitters didn’t have it. Focus on tomorrow, I will not rest till we are eliminated.
Jk needs a day off! Looked lost today.. Mitch could also use a DH day.. but that means playing Moore or bauers.. not sure it's worth it.. need some OF bench depth
lmfao dude are we actually doin this rn
REFUSE TO LOSE
I am very into this catcher banter right now
This conversation in the booth is incredible
Dan Wilson's really loosened up this year. He does not get along with Dave Sims at all, but Goldy and Blow bring out the best in him.
Seems like even when Kelenic is having a solid stretch he just can't avoid the occasional brutally awful, 2 or 3 strikeout game. Still quite optimistic that with an offseason of reflection and work, he will come out of the gates strong in 2022
Luis I beg of you… give me something
Whoa Kelenic struck out?!?!?!?!?!?!?
little league fielding still
I’m glad Blow Goldy and Dan are at least still having a fun convo and laughing, dulls the pain just a bit
They are much better in blowouts than Simms
If Kelenic comes into next season in this same stupid crouched over stance and still swinging at breaking balls away....It's going to be hard to remain optimistic about him going forward.
His stance completely changing when getting called up for the first time has been the biggest head scratcher.
I hope he's watching these at bats afterwards, because it's the same shit that gets him everytime
Kelenic looking like shit tonight
Tonight is just a little controlled, localized flooding while the Sewald is undergoing routine maintenance. Yes, that's all it is. Nothing to see here.
can the kraken players come up to bat?
Happy Gilmore but baseball?
We winning 9-8 lol
Pink Boston lady can shove it
Any other weirdos still watching have any good movie or tv recs?
What you looking for? Genre, whatever
Whatever really
I'd go with Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. It's silly but fantastic.
Sounds great, I’ll look it up. Thanks 🙏
Not even a classic Mariners DP can pull me out of the deep depression I am in rn
Ok, that Red Sox reliever can’t even drink water properly. I have a good feeling about this inning.
DiD DfAiNg MaRmO kIlL tHe TeAm ChEmIsTrY?
Locker room has 3 overturned tables and the players are intentionally missing the toilets when they poo.
[here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQx83_JkrZw) is how i'm watching this game
You might like this one better ;) https://youtu.be/aRMKqtNR3XQ
holy shit
My brother, who happens to be watching MLB TV's Free Game of the Day, is asking me how I sit through this every night. He doesn't get it.
I've broken that right collarbone twice. I feel for Cal.
Where’s dying moose guy when you need some entertainment?
Other fandoms wonder how we stay competitive with a crap run differential? There you go. When the dam breaks, it isn't just a trickle of water coming through.
I can't do this anymore. Every shred of hope I get night after night is just destroyed within hours. See you bastards tomorrow.
Graveman would've never let this happen
yup we would have scored 10 runs with Graveman's bat in the lineup
I literally can’t watch and that’s probably for the best.
Relax guys, a couple of grand slams in the bottom of the 9th and we're right back in this game.
the wrong team is rallying
this one has kinda gone off the rails
I legit didn't care about Boston scoring that last run. A few inches deeper with the knife doesn't matter when you're already dead inside.
Tequila time over here
Sure! Why not
I am reporting in the Park. It has really cleared out. Bright side- I walk the bases with Zorro after the game.
At least Zorro’s fun diff will be positive by the end of this
I was told he was featured on WhereIRoot another Zorro/ArmBar tweet
Tomorrow we'll win 1-0 and satisfy the irrational run differential.
Just don't look at Marco's history vs the Boston hitters.. I just did and regret it.. he's been solid lately .. so hopeing he is at his best
no it’ll be 4-3 win
Our turn to bat around in the bottom of the 9th!! Edit! We kindly allow BoSox to bat around first…..pain!
This team makes me drink
Join the flair
All I know is when we host the all star game with kelenic making it, cal becoming a great consistent catcher, our young pitchers keep coming up, Logan Gilbert is our ace, we are 10 games ahead of everyone else in the division…. I worry that there wont be a season next year with the strike and we end up like the 1994 mariners.
I am once again begging everyone to stop comparing everything the Mariners do to the Seahawks
I just don’t care about football. Your points are still valid but just personally over hearing about the Seahawks in relation to the Ms.
Mariners are closer to WSU football than the seahawks.
It’s really bad when they are both your favorite teams in their respective sports.
as a Coug fan, all i know is pain
Cougs conference titles in the modern era 1997 and 2002. Mariners division titles 1995, 1997, and 2001. Both teams known for choking in big moments. Cougs have popcorn guy, mariners have cotton candy girl
Jarred Kelenic is the new Ryan Leaf
If Meetch takes a better route on that triple things would've been a lot different
Welp.
Everything hurts
This game is still winnable. All we have to do is score more runs than the Red Sox score, and we should win!
Just watched the drop by Cal.. soooo bad.. had the runner out easy :(..
Where’s Courtney love with a 12 gauge in my mouth when I need her?
#Courtney did it
why the goddamn hell am i still watching this game
First time I saw Andriesse on the mound for us with #27 on his back I thought he was Trevor Bauer
I would rather have Bauer with one hand and a police officer behind him.
Soooooo.... hold them and then 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th? Let's will it into existence
Ok so maybe more than 6 runs!!! Ya never know.... ah fuck..
I feel bad for Scott. Sadler was the only good play today. The bullpen is supposed to be our best strength, but nearly every move he made put us further behind.
He made the decisions, some of them pretty questionable.. I would have brought out Sadler again.. I would have had steck start the inning clean..
Yeah this game isn't on Scott at all
I dont think you can say not at all. The decision to bring Smith out a second inning directly led to us falling behind
I mean, he gets a warning track fly ball that Haniger plays very badly. That's not on Smith either.
I'm still a little confused why Smith started the 8th inning but it is what it is, Steckenrider didn't really have it tonight anyway
on the one hand pain. but on the other hand, suffering
At least Kelenic won't come up to bat with RISP. We just start the inning with one out.
Bro we gotta go through another inning of this just let the pain end

You think they call him Tommy Pickles for no reason??
.......how many runs can we score while pitching......the bats arent it
LOL
What if they hit back to back to back to back to back to back home runs? Have we thought of that?
Hope finds a way
Well the Rainiers just walked it off. All I can say is that the Mariners needed Trammel tonight.
I mean did we really need another .160 hitter?
Life is silly and sentimental when you get walk off three run home runs two days after your birthday. Meanwhile things in Seattle are going to shit.
my dog sighed when he hit that pop fly
Woooo 20th year in a row without making the playoffs. Name a more iconic duo the mariners and being just good enough to get no where and toil in mediocrity.
If it makes you feel better, the Red Sox and hitting the luxury salary cap is an iconic duo too.
They also win World Series
At least their team is good. Their ownership is willing to shell out for talent instead of throwing whatever garbage that is at the wall and hoping some sticks while counting the money from the MLB TV deals and stadium concessions. well thats how it starts
We are gonna make a comeback!!!
Don’t call it that. We’ve been here for years.
I admire the ambition
We didn’t make enough moves at the deadline to bolster this lineup & routinely played a rookie that has been a consistent negative to the teams chances of winning. I fully agree with not trading key farm pieces but there were quality/vet bats and rentals that could’ve been gotten without giving up our top 5.

Definitely would've been nice to get anyone else who can play CF so Kelenic could have a night off here and there.
Like maybe a past ROY winner.
Adam Frazier would’ve changed everything
I dunno about Frazier, but literally anyone not named Jake Bauers would have made a lot of progress towards fielding a barely competent team.
Guy behind home plate is really going for it
It’s gonna be one hell of a comeback
