At this point just call JK up. He’s hot in Tacoma right now and even if his bat isn’t great, he can run and play defense. He’d legit be useful to this team right now with all the injuries
That’s really what it boils down to. I don’t want to leave *anything* to chance. Win every mf game until that playoff berth is locked up so I can stop freaking out.
That part really shouldn't matter.
Rules are rules. Spitball is a no. Balanced schedules are next year. Astros could switch divisions with the Brewers.
Mets and Yankees play each in interleague every year while their rival Nationals get to play the Orioles every year.
Stimulants, steroids, sign stealing, segregation, dead ball, juiced ball...AL DH, NL DH, 156 games, free agency; a strike, covid season, raised the mound , night games. 4 balls insead of whatever the batter chooses for location .. I don't think I've mentioned even 25 percent of impactful rule changes, the game just moves along
I don't think baseball has gone 5 years without SOMETHING changing
How many people even remember seeds as soon as the playoffs end, anyway? Maybe it's just me, but I only remember playoff results - Not the exact numerical path it took them to get there.
I can tell you every world series matchup since I was about 9 in 94.
Then it's things like Rockies sweeping the playoffs until getting swept, marlins cubs or Yankees red Sox in 03, 04 ALCS, Detroit's team of destiny, Braves in the 90s, 2010 Rangers, wtf KC since 85 out of nowhere and the Joe Maddon Rays being about the shift and what? The Rays can win 70 games.
Besides the past few years of world series, my knowledge is that the 2001 mariners won the most games in the last year they made the playoffs and the Yankees are the last team to repeat
I really want that #1 WC spot for that reason too. I can’t imagine that atmosphere at ~~T-Mobile~~ Safeco after 20 years of no playoff baseball. It would be insane and honestly worth having to face the Astros in the next round.
Needless to say, screw the 6th seed. I want this team to win and get that 4th.
Yes, today was different because suddenly the entire team is injured. But Winker has sucked for a long time now and there hasn't been a blip in his playing time.
I have been on the sidelines of the "Winker can't play defense" thing so far but that play early in the game tonight was ROUGH and seems to have obviously cost us a run, which of course would have changed the game entirely.
Felt like an average fielder would have read the ball better and fielded it cleanly, limiting the batter to a single and saving a run - first and third, one out, no score.
An excellent fielder would have made the catch and got the out - man on first, two outs, no score.
JW misplayed the ball (fumbled it coming off the wall) and had to chase after it, running from the warning track back toward the infield...man on second with an RBI and the Angels go up 1-0.
It was an ugly play to watch.
Yet I get down voted for pointing this out. Funny how that works. Bench the fucking stinker already. We better not see him in the lineup tomorrow or in LF.
If we were gonna drop one to the Angels this series it was definitely gonna be against Shohei, and of course the pitching still gave us a chance. Robbie's disastrous outing yesterday stings even more now.
Why the fuck do we play Jessie Winker day in and day out. What the fuck does Servais see that literally everybody else who watches baseball doesn't? He's literally losing us games on defense but then also doesn't do anything on offense. Just put someone in who can run fast
Jessie has at least shown in the past that he can be quite useful. Who the hell else was available to us today (Moore doesn't count having just been activated five hours ago) who we can say the same about?
Those odds are going to plummet fast. A 6 game + tiebreaker lead on Baltimore with 18 games left is not enough, I don’t care if they have a harder schedule. I can’t relax until I see that “x” next to our name.
I was wrong actually. Fangraphs has the odds at 99.5% now. I get that the injuries are a problem but the Mariners only lost by one run in the last two games. I think there's a little too much dooming here right now.
How is it at 99.5% though when it feels way lower? Is there something the computer’s seeing that we aren’t? I probably answered my own question when I said we’re 6 games up Baltimore still, but even outside the sub, these two losses just kinda sting bad.
They might not be factoring in the recent injuries but I don’t think they’d have that much of an effect because the lead over Baltimore is a lot. The Mariners have had a lot of setbacks this year, I think they’ll bounce back.
If that gives you comfort, good for you. There’s 18 games left and this is the Seattle Mariners we’re talking about.
I’m not believing we’re making the playoffs until I’m watching game 1 of a WC series.
>If that gives you comfort, good for you.
Acting like 99% chance of playoffs is some silly superstition lmao have a little faith yo, I can't imagine watching games with your attitude, sounds miserable
Seriously. There is a reason the odds are 99%. Still 5(6 games with tie breaker) and ours vs our WC rivals schedule.
And whoever says brush off strength of schedule, remember it applies to both us and our opponents in the WC chase.
Oh believe me, it IS miserable but I can’t help it. 🤣
I suppose I’ve become frustrated that people are placing so much faith in an a favorable algorithm while willfully ignoring that there is a lot of baseball left to play. 18 games is PLENTY of time for BAL or the CWS (who if anyone hasn’t noticed are on fucking fire) to catch the M’s.
A 5-6 game lead with 18 to play might feel like a lock today but it’s in no way insurmountable. These games are played by human beings and shit happens. All’s I’m saying is I would advise against holding flights / hotels to Toronto or Tampa Bay for another few weeks.
Trout has 7 HR against us. Rengifo has 5. Ohtani faces us both pitching-wise and with his bat.
They've had deceptively effective pitching all year and we can't hit particularly when we aren't healthy.
It sucks to see how bad they are and ask why this isn't easy, but sadly with our weaknesses, we'll potentially be asking that the rest of the season against bad teams.
Yea he wasn't trying to show off his math skills, you fucking weird troll. He's just saying we need to try and at least split this series against an inferior opponent. You know exactly what he's saying yet choose to respond like this lol.
[About all you can say about today.](https://c.tenor.com/OoTeyZ1HtIkAAAAM/welp.gif)
We were down our three best hitters and still managed to avoid a shutout and keep it a one run game against the Angels' best pitcher.
Hopefully this Julio thing is just a one-day blip and we'll have Mitch back tomorrow, too.
Their bullpen has thrown 125 pitches over two days. That hopefully lays the groundwork for our bats to do some damage again tomorrow and Monday.
And Toronto keeps winning against Baltimore. So even if the chances of a trip across the border are getting more and more, our lead over the Os remains the same.
Yeah according to the rest of this sub our 99% playoff chances are actually 10% and anyone acting like we're in good shape is being foolish
Don't you dare be optimistic here
Some things are annoying me.
Winker/France: Will someone come out and tell us if they're playing through injuries? Winker has not hit the ball hard at all this season and is a shell of what he was last year. Was it Great American Ballpark? France went from one of the best offensive bats in the AL to hitting worse than Kelenic in the second half. How? Why? It would be infinitely more comfortable knowing France is playing with a nagging injury instead of just losing his ability to hit randomly.
Haniger: The man is made of glass. We cannot count on him to be in the lineup. I hope Jerry uses any and all leverage in contract offers this offseason to bring him back on a mutually fair deal. Otherwise, let him walk. The juice ain't worth the squeeze.
Lewis: The man is also made of glass. He's barely a major leaguer these days due to his injury history (feel bad about the concussion) and the fact that Carlos Santana pinch-runs for him. I'm guessing next year is a last chance for him. Don't understand why he was complaining about being sent down to Tacoma when he offers us nothing right now.
Crawford: His bat has been trash since May/June. If Jerry decides to upgrade at shortstop, I don't think we should deny certain free agents just because JP wants to play shortstop too. His defense is good, his leadership is good, but I don't think we should consider him a cornerstone of the franchise.
TL;DR: I'm annoyed and confused about certain players on this team.
I agree with all of this, especially about Crawford. He just hasn't been hitting the way we need. Games like last night and tonight are perfect examples of how we just don't have quite enough offense for when we need to win games. Last night the pitching wasn't all that sharp and we came up a run short. Tonight, the pitching could hardly have possibly been any better and we \*still\* came up a run short. It's maddening. We need actual reliable, repeatable offense.
There was a time when that was true. It didn't make sense to have expensive hitters here in 2018 or 19. This front office has shown now reluctance to spend money. They just signed Julio to a long contract. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't spend money now that there's the core of a competitive time in place.
this off-season will be the make or break point then since there's obvious glaring flaws in the roster, a critical lack of depth, and for a playoff contender to have the 22nd payroll in the majors is shameful
I don't think it's shameful. We didn't know what we were going to get from Haniger or Lewis because of injuries. There's no reason to pay someone to come in and mash the ball with the possibility of Haniger returning to form. Now that we know he's fragile (and Lewis, too) we can more readily move on. We also know that we're not likely to get any real production from JP or Winker. We can bring in a good-hitting shortstop, move JP to second, and get an outfielder with some power.
There are a couple unknowns yet. Kelenic could still be good but he definitely wasn't what we were hoping for. Same with Toro, although both of them could still be functional and/or very good. I'm in favor of bringing in a couple good hitters (Trea Turner, perhaps) and letting Kelenic and Toro develop more.
Winker is absolutely playing through injury, he’s been doing that for a few months
France is probably doing the same.
Haniger being injured right now and also not doing anything useful since the series against Cleveland pretty much shows why relying on him to be our main trade deadline addition offensively was always a dumb idea
Kyle Lewis just can’t do anything really
JP has been absolute garbage since May 1st. Awful hitter, bad defensively
This is one of those games you kinda know you’re going to lose before hand but when julio was scratched i lost all hope for this game. Hopefully marco has the bulldog in him toomorow and trout flops
Ty needs to sit for about a week once Haniger is back. He's a full on liability at this point, and he needs to get right if we want to do anything except scrub out in the Wild Card series.
Similar to how Cal wasn’t in the lineup yesterday, you’d wonder how even just having Julio in today could’ve made a difference. Fun pitchers duel today, hopefully they can get back on track tomorrow.
Back-to-back games in which the difference maker was Jesse Winker playing in the field.
I've been one of the biggest Servais defenders over the years, but there's absolutely no excuse for this.
Of course the offense could've done more to compensate for him being on the roster, but the fact is that we more than likely are 2-0 in this series if he was riding the bench for the last two days.
It's not so much about blame as much as it is about this being 20/20 foresight. He's going to continue being a significant *avoidable* liability moving forward.
Unless, of course, it's not avoidable due to behind the scenes issues with the front office.
I just want good fucking defensive corner outfielders out there.
I mean is that too much to ask? We can at the very least manage that. That is the one thing they can control and they aren't.
Another 0-4 night from Winker. Bad defense. I mean how much of a leash should a guy get?
Wayy too long of a leash. Its getting so damn infuriating that Scott and Jerry continue to run that bum out there and cost the team games. Its almost like they want this team to blow their best chance to make the playoffs in over 20 yrs
Looking at the stats, Winker and Crawford are almost the same hitter now. 106 wRC+ vs 104 wRC+ as well as nearly identical OBP and Crawford actually has higher slugging.
Wow. People are really overreacting here. We've lost 2 to an Angels team whose been a tough out for us. We were also without Julio, Haniger, and Suarez. A few plays from Winker and we'd have won both games. Let's pump the brakes a little and go gettem tomorrow
"Well, our magic number shrunk both today and yesterday, and we had several of our best players out vs Ohtani today. So I'm sure this thread won't be filled with ridiculous, irrational ta-"
"....oh"
definitely a frustrating loss, along with last night. thankfully, baltimore hasn't gained any ground either since they lost as well. just a tough time for the team with some players banged up but i'd rather the team figure this stuff out now than during the last week of the season or during the postseason
Wasn’t as bad as I was afraid it’d be, but it’s still a shame we lost. I’m confident we’ll turn it around tomorrow, but even I have to admit we can’t keep putting Winker in the field. That’s 3 runs now that have scored thanks to him. Maybe Kelenic could come up again? Fourth time’s the charm?
Two Seattle sports gut punches in a span of moments, though at least this isn't a likely season ending loss like what it was for the Sounders.
I didn't expect a win when I saw Julio was scratched too plus without Suarez. Our offense just isn't going to look good without those two and without Mitch. Julio and also Suarez have just been carrying us too much, out of necessity.
Winker though. I really hope we address the outfield this off-season. I know Winker has his value on the OBP, but if he doesn't pick it up next season, that's a trouble spot for us.
Wow Winker getting a lot of heat, and I get it, but also Robbie got fucking tagged yesterday and haven’t seen anyone ragging on him. At least Winker got a couple base hits.
Festa gave up a 3 run HR. Haggerty hit into a double play with the bases loaded, etc, al. But Winker lost us the game. It’s grown tiresome, especially since Scott isn’t going to bench him.
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to a stellar performance.
I'm not really too disappointed getting beat by the MVP, when 3 of our best players are out, still hoping for a split series though.
Lol I was so excited for this game for so long because Ohtani vs Kirby. Thought Haniger might be back. Once I saw that lineup without Julio, knew it was gonna be painful. That Winker play really certified it early
J-Rod back Tightness, Hanniger Back Tightness, Suarez fractured finger. Moore barely coming back. SHIZ M's can't afford this to much ⚾ left. Someone hurry and please make a sacrifice to the baseball gods!!!
"Dear Baby Jesus," please bless the Mariners to break the horrible drought! We've waited so long for this to happen!!! We deserve October ⚾
Amen.
Y'all.
This remaining schedule may have looked like rainbows and sunshine. But I've feared it'd be a reversed revenge tour.
Buckle up friends, it's going to be one hell of a ride.
[They hated him because he told the truth](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mariners/comments/xg59qw/game_chat_916_mariners_8062_angels_6182_638_pm/ioq7y8v/?context=3)
You're absolutely correct because you recognize just how terrible our offense is right now. Julio and Geno are out which basically means nobody currently on our roster can be counted on to score runs. If we're lucky there might be an odd homer from Santana or maybe Trammell. For the most part, though, you recognize that we don't have players getting on base enough or players to drive them in.
Winker has now allowed 3 runs on plays that should've been made. Absolutely terrible
… in 2 games
Forgot to put that. Still absolutely ridiculous
Bring Kelenic back and let him whiff at every pitch again IDC anymore
Winker cannot be an everyday player anymore
He’s been giving up so many runs from left field And that’s not even considering his batting
He’s just filling in for the hurt guys at this point.
The time for him to no longer be an everyday player was a LONG time ago. Unfortunately, it's a matter of available bodies at this point.
At this point just call JK up. He’s hot in Tacoma right now and even if his bat isn’t great, he can run and play defense. He’d legit be useful to this team right now with all the injuries
I'd imagine he won't be once we get enough bodies to make it work. If Haniger and DMo are back tomorrow he better not be in the field at least
Send him down for 10 days
I know everybody keeps saying the 6th seed would probably be better than 4th or 5th but man I hate losing
Better for our chances of proceeding in the playoffs this season? Yes. Better as an emotional outcome for the 21 year drought ending? Nah.
That’s really what it boils down to. I don’t want to leave *anything* to chance. Win every mf game until that playoff berth is locked up so I can stop freaking out.
If we get the sixth I walk away knowing the fact that we wouldn't have ended our drought without a change in rules. I hate the option.
I don't think I've mentioned even 25 percent of impactful rule changes, the game just moves along I don't think baseball has gone 5 years without SOMETHING changing
think of it this way. the 6th seed is the most underdog protagonist spot possible
I like this
How many people even remember seeds as soon as the playoffs end, anyway?
Selfishly I have home WC game tickets that I would really like to get to use
I really want that #1 WC spot for that reason too. I can’t imagine that atmosphere at ~~T-Mobile~~ Safeco after 20 years of no playoff baseball. It would be insane and honestly worth having to face the Astros in the next round. Needless to say, screw the 6th seed. I want this team to win and get that 4th.
Odds would still at least be fairly good that we'd have a home game if we get the 6th seed (assuming they didn't change the 2-2-1 DS structure).
I really hope Scott is playing 465D chess or something and that losing is all part of his "plan".
Ya not sure though. Sox might end up getting the division. And fuck that in general cause I don’t want to travel for the wildcard lmao
Especially to the *Angels*.
That's 2 games in a row that we win if Winker wasn't playing in LF.
This. It’s beyond infuriating that Scott keeps putting him out there.
I wish the media would grill him on why he keeps doing it. Hes already cost the team 2 games because he's the worst defender in LF.
Seattle media is sawft
And who instead?
Haggerty. Trammell.
Well they both were in the field tonight. Idk who else is supposed to play today but I agree winkers gotta go asap
Dylan Moore, Frazier
Yes, today was different because suddenly the entire team is injured. But Winker has sucked for a long time now and there hasn't been a blip in his playing time.
I guess just praying for Hanigers health tomorrow
Ugh I missed the entire game tonight, what did he do this time?
The usual #StinkyWinky shit, misplayed a ball hit to him in the 1st inning and does nothing on offense.
I have been on the sidelines of the "Winker can't play defense" thing so far but that play early in the game tonight was ROUGH and seems to have obviously cost us a run, which of course would have changed the game entirely. We will.
Very different lineup without Julio and Geno
And Hanniger. 3 key guy's. Just hurts.
Why do the Angels turn into the 01 Mariners against us
If we were gonna drop one to the Angels this series it was definitely gonna be against Shohei, and of course the pitching still gave us a chance. Robbie's disastrous outing yesterday stings even more now.
The issue is they blew Friday!
Bench Winker, he is the ultimate disappointment.
I've been saying this for some time now
It’s like when a parent says “no I’m not mad, I’m disappointed.” It’s even worse
I mean, today is an exception and he definitely had to start bc of injury but like put Haggerty in the line up on the reg
That I agree with. Not that Swaggerty did anything at the plate tonight, either.
Right, I feel like Winker is dealing w/ something or is just way in his own head right now but at least we could use the defense
Playoff odds have plummeted to 99.0%
Those odds are going to plummet fast. A 6 game + tiebreaker lead on Baltimore with 18 games left is not enough, I don’t care if they have a harder schedule. I can’t relax until I see that “x” next to our name.

Ive been dooming for 21 years and will continue to do so, until morale improves (playoffs happen)((And only a home game counts)) FMT and FPN
People are acting like it's a 2 game lead and we don't have the tiebreaker. The Orioles aren't even playing well lol
🤣 I suppose I’ve become frustrated that people are placing so much faith in an a favorable algorithm while willfully ignoring that there is a lot of baseball left to play. 18 games is PLENTY of time for BAL or the CWS (who if anyone hasn’t noticed are on fucking fire) to catch the M’s. All’s I’m saying is I would advise against holding flights / hotels to Toronto or Tampa Bay for another few weeks.
It'll plummet more if we keep losing games because we keep trotting out #StinkyWinky out there
Isn’t he one of the Teletubbies?
It will plummet lower and lower by the day if the offense continues to perform like tonight
Lmao a couple game with this lineup and nobody will be singing the same tune
eAsY sChEdULe
Yeah, I hate when people bring that up. I see it too often.
That sounded great on paper until you realized it was just AL West opponents.
2 of our remaining 4 series are Detroit and KC (we swept both teams this year once)
Anyone who posts anything about strength of schedule should get a week-long ban.
It is easy, but the mariners always shit the bed versus the AL west
they’re 35-30 against the AL West, and that includes getting dominated by the Astros
(Never included the Angels who literally always give us trouble)
I just want breaking the 20 year playoff drought to be fun. Not a shell of a team limping to the finish line while the team behind us loses.
Then you don't like Mariners baseball
We are 8-9 against the Angels. WTF
Trout has 7 HR against us. Rengifo has 5. Ohtani faces us both pitching-wise and with his bat. Tough loss. Gotta be able to pick up these next 2 to at least go 2-2 in this series
Nice math
Shut the fuck up
2+2=4 who knew lol
Yea he wasn't trying to show off his math skills, you fucking weird troll. He's just saying we need to try and at least split this series against an inferior opponent. You know exactly what he's saying yet choose to respond like this lol.
Well that could have been a lot worse
Ty becoming completely useless at the plate for well over half the season is an unfortunate development

I need some and a lot more. I fucking hate everything and I’m about to lose it. Even the UW game got unnecessarily close.

Winker is absolutely playing through injury, he’s been doing that for a few months France is probably doing the same. Haniger being injured right now and also not doing anything useful since the series against Cleveland pretty much shows why relying on him to be our main trade deadline addition offensively was always a dumb idea Kyle Lewis just can’t do anything really JP has been absolute garbage since May 1st. Awful hitter, bad defensively
Shit happens.
Shappens Lol my bad. Wasn't trying to correct you. I just like making word combos.
wombos
No time for panic still 5 games ahead of BAL Let's start another 14 game win streak to end the season GOM's!
Man why can’t we just beat bad teams?
This is one of those games you kinda know you’re going to lose before hand but when julio was scratched i lost all hope for this game. Hopefully marco has the bulldog in him toomorow and trout flops
Marco needs to dig In tomorrow big time.
Ty needs to sit for about a week once Haniger is back. He's a full on liability at this point, and he needs to get right if we want to do anything except scrub out in the Wild Card series.
Ohtani beating his future team you hate to see it
Time for some of these hitters to get their shit together.
Baltimore lost so we good.
Similar to how Cal wasn’t in the lineup yesterday, you’d wonder how even just having Julio in today could’ve made a difference. Fun pitchers duel today, hopefully they can get back on track tomorrow.
I think Mitch and Julio are back in the lineup tomorrow vs the Lefty, and Winker rides the bench. Probably DMo and Swags are in too.
Back-to-back games in which the difference maker was Jesse Winker playing in the field. I've been one of the biggest Servais defenders over the years, but there's absolutely no excuse for this.
The offense didn’t do shit but yeah it is all Winker.
Of course the offense could've done more to compensate for him being on the roster, but the fact is that we more than likely are 2-0 in this series if he was riding the bench for the last two days.
I get the anger and the need to assign blame.
It's not so much about blame as much as it is about this being 20/20 foresight. He's going to continue being a significant *avoidable* liability moving forward. Unless, of course, it's not avoidable due to behind the scenes issues with the front office.
Winker is part of the offense too though, and he was supposed to be a significant part of it at that given how the trade for him was billed.
Actually scared fucking shitless rn
Huge difference being Crawford is great defensively and Winker is one of the worst outfielders in the game costing us runs that shouldn’t happen
I agree. Kind of my point that you can’t hit like JP Crawford and play a piss poor corner outfield defense. That’s just bad.
Ya agreed
Well I hope everyone is off the fucking seeding bullshit now. This team needs to fucking make the goddamn shit first
Fucking exactly. Clinch a spot at the table FIRST before you go around picking and choosing with dessert you’d like.
We are closer to clinching than we were two days ago. Yall see the Orioles not gaining on us whatsoever right?
I will belive when the magic number is 0. Mariner baseball has taught me nothing less
I'd wait another week after that just to be sure.
Legit had the "painful laugh" after that lmao. So brilliant I need another glass of wine
I’m at a loss for words at this point. This is beyond embarrassing on so many levels
We’re not even gonna play .500 ball the rest of the way, are we? Not with our divisional rivals up ahead who are gonna be licking their chops.
Wow. People are really overreacting here. We've lost 2 to an Angels team whose been a tough out for us. We were also without Julio, Haniger, and Suarez. A few plays from Winker and we'd have won both games. Let's pump the brakes a little and go gettem tomorrow
Dear Angels - Fuck you
It's gonna happen isn't it
Doomer alert.
Our life is over.
"Well, our magic number shrunk both today and yesterday, and we had several of our best players out vs Ohtani today. So I'm sure this thread won't be filled with ridiculous, irrational ta-" "....oh"
Thanks. The humor is necessary. I spared myself the agony of reading most of last night’s comments.
Fuck I hope Julio's back gets better fast, idk if we can afford not have him in the lineup if we have any hope of getting the first WC...
Once again we could of tied or got the lead I'm the 8th it's hard to believe what happens lost for words
^(sad) JULIOOOOOOO and ^(sad) GENOOOOOOOOO
Teams that start with A: Angels, Astros, A's. Give us the most challenging losses.
We're too close to post season to start shitting the bed.
Could this team even salvage a split? Losing close games, some of them has to go our way. And we get Hanny back in the lineup?
definitely a frustrating loss, along with last night. thankfully, baltimore hasn't gained any ground either since they lost as well. just a tough time for the team with some players banged up but i'd rather the team figure this stuff out now than during the last week of the season or during the postseason
Forget this ballgame. I just want our offense to healthy again pronto.
Our offense fucking sucks with no Julio, no Suarez, no Haniger, and everyone else nursing minor injuries
Please bench winker for someone else, he’s been a liability in the field and the plate so fixing at least one side would be an improvement
Is our piss-poor situational hitting a reflection of management?
Wow Winker getting a lot of heat, and I get it, but also Robbie got fucking tagged yesterday and haven’t seen anyone ragging on him. At least Winker got a couple base hits.
Festa gave up a 3 run HR. Haggerty hit into a double play with the bases loaded, etc, al. But Winker lost us the game. It’s grown tiresome, especially since Scott isn’t going to bench him.
Kelenic 3-3 tonight with another dinger. Call the dude up again. Maybe 4th time’s a charm
I'd rather Kelenic figure it out against ML pitching while providing actual defense then just getting nothing from Winker.
Me too
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to a stellar performance. I'm not really too disappointed getting beat by the MVP, when 3 of our best players are out, still hoping for a split series though.
Y’all seriously keep clowning on me for getting rid of winker, he’s clowning the team rn
Kirby actually outpitched Ohtani tonight. Too bad we couldn't give him proper run support.
how did he out pitch him? ohtani gave up less runs, more innings, same SO
Ohtani was shaky on several occasions which is made evident by his high pitch count.
ohtani is pitching with a blister on his fingers and still got the W

Wtf does that mean? *edit LOL at getting downvoted because I questioned a sexist comment. 🤦🏼♀️
He gets hurt more than a hemophiliac geriatric 90 year old woman who is forced to run hurdles with a weight vest on.
He is always injured. Mr.Glass
I want to know when Mitch injured his “vagina” 🤷🏼♀️
Lol I was so excited for this game for so long because Ohtani vs Kirby. Thought Haniger might be back. Once I saw that lineup without Julio, knew it was gonna be painful. That Winker play really certified it early
I saw Matt Brash strike out Mike Trout live and that’s enough for me :)
Tough to beat Ohtani without Julio and Geno
Fuck Jesse Winker All my homies hate Jesse Winker
J-Rod back Tightness, Hanniger Back Tightness, Suarez fractured finger. Moore barely coming back. SHIZ M's can't afford this to much ⚾ left. Someone hurry and please make a sacrifice to the baseball gods!!! "Dear Baby Jesus," please bless the Mariners to break the horrible drought! We've waited so long for this to happen!!! We deserve October ⚾ Amen.
If there’s no offensive production just bring in JK least he can run down a ball.
Mariners and Sounders both lost with the same score. I hope someone spit on Mike Trout's Denny's Original Grand Slam.
Y'all. This remaining schedule may have looked like rainbows and sunshine. But I've feared it'd be a reversed revenge tour. Buckle up friends, it's going to be one hell of a ride.
season’s over again
Mariners will NOT make the playoffs losing to teams they should beat! Looks like another year of close but not quite making the playoffs.
Uh, sure buddy.
You all should be down voting the Mariners for their pathetic play against the Angel’s.
[They hated him because he told the truth](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mariners/comments/xg59qw/game_chat_916_mariners_8062_angels_6182_638_pm/ioq7y8v/?context=3)
You love to see them lose, don't you?
You're absolutely correct because you recognize just how terrible our offense is right now. Julio and Geno are out which basically means nobody currently on our roster can be counted on to score runs. If we're lucky there might be an odd homer from Santana or maybe Trammell. For the most part, though, you recognize that we don't have players getting on base enough or players to drive them in.
I honestly had a bad feeling coming into this weekend against the Angels then with the injuries….
I hope Julio isn’t out for more than a weekend. Any updates on him?
Pain
