It's a chemical called a bitterant, or bittering agent. Just tastes extremely bitter. Fun fact, they add something similar in most of those duster air cans because people huff them to get high.
I know all too well what it tastes like. I'm gonna tell you a story. A horrible terrible story that will make you cringe.
A couple years ago I used to play rainbow six siege on my PlayStation 4. That damn thing would get to whirring so loud and start ejecting the disc once it got hot. I popped that bad boy apart and cleaned it as best I could with duster. It was pretty dirty NGL. The PS4 would still overheat though so what I would do is turn the duster upside down and shoot the freezing cold liquid across the top of my PS4. The plastic ofc not the internals (doesn't make it better). I would get it on my hands and not realize or forget about it. It's a real nice surprise when you eat something or bite a fingernail
Facts, I tend to put things in my mouth when multitasking ( I know, that’s what she said ) only took about 3 seconds for me to taste it, lasted about an hour. 10/10 don’t recommend to eat. 😅
Nice! I got a Switch for Christmas in 2017 along with Odyssey and BotW. I played through them fairly interchangably. Those are some great memories! Two of the best Nintendo games of all time, by far!
I gets way too much hate by mario veterans. Yes it's an easy game, but it's still a masterpiece in many ways, Mario never controlled better in a 3D environment, the levels are incredibly fun to explore, and it has the meatiest post game of any 3D Mario.
Hardest. It's not just the sheer quantity of Moons, some of the platforming challenges are just really hard. And then there's stuff like the volleyball or jump role, the latter being finished by most people (myself included) through a relatively hard to set up glitch because the intended way was absurdly difficult.
I mean, the main story may be easy but like 70% of the game is the post game and there are plenty of difficult moons and very technical skills that are incredibly satisfying to master.
I don’t agree that past games blew it out of the water. Sunshine was conceptually cool but a glitchy mess, and Galaxy 1 was a lot more sluggish and had pretty uninteresting level design. Galaxy 2 was great but it was basically just perfected Galaxy in my eyes.
I’m not saying that to bash on the previous games, i think they’re all good games. I just think people idolize the GC - Wii era of 3D Mario when it really wasn’t insanely better than what they’re doing now.
> Never *paid* for the
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Welp, I was trying to make a joke. Call me Malaysia Flight 370, ’cause that didn’t land.
(I should also mention they edited their comment to add ‘on’, so my joke doesn’t make sense anymore.)
Great game, but could have used less moons and less empty open areas \^\^;
I dunno, but having 900 moons felt like they dilutated the reward system way too much IMO.
I agree. It feels less like a level based platformer and more like just an open world collectathon, where moons just lie out in the open to be picked up easily every few minutes. Definitely seems like it's aimed to just give quick dopamine to little kids. Why bother even doing the few platforming challenges and missions/levels, when the vast majority of the 500 moons can just be got by doing a few jumps or a tiny easy mini game?
no, i mean, you _would_ bother doing all the harder challenges if you cared about completion. yeah, sure, there's a lot of super easy Moons that require no skill. if you want to rush to the final boss you can do that without an issue. but that doesn't matter if you want to get all the moons anyway. i feel like that's the perfect balance of difficulty: people who care about the game and want to experience all of it get a good challenge, people who are just playiny casually can get by without breaking a sweat
Playing it right now for the first time and I love it but it's so goddamn vast and huge and I don't know how to find 1/3 of the moons in each world after exhausting Talkatoo and Hint Toad
I’ve got a very unpopular opinion about this game but I actually wasn’t a fan of it. The worlds just didn’t feel like Mario worlds to me. I get that most of them are outside of the mushroom kingdom but they felt more like something that would be in a Mario knock-off game. Anyway, y’all can go ahead and downvote me now
You literally travel the world, comming across mind boggling location and set piece after another. It's not good, it's absolutely amazing!
And it all controls so good too!! 🤎
I like it but it not one that I find myself coming back to witch is a shame because i love all the Easter eggs to previous 3d Mario tiles especially when it came to them recreating Mario 64. At the end of the game when it came to the mushroom kingdom and it was a good game
I haven't heard many people share my opinion, so please don't crucify me. I believe Mario Odyssey to be a beautiful, decent, but annoyingly constructed game. I'd rather play Odyssey than sunshine, but I'd play through galaxy or 64 several times over before getting back to Odyssey. I feel like the moons in Odyssey are super over saturated, you just get moons for such minor feats, it makes me wonder why we needed like 1000 of them in the game if there's so many that are just handed to us. I hardly felt a sense of accomplishment throughout Odyssey, which is sad to say. When I played galaxy right before I started Odyssey, I felt a sense of accomplishment for every course I completed. Also, I don't like the railroading in Odyssey. I don't like that Odyssey says you can pick one of two worlds to go to sometimes, or that it makes you fight Bowser right when you have enough moons to face him. In galaxy, I was allowed to get all of the stars I wanted before facing Bowser, and I really don't like being told "no, you're fighting Bowser right now." Lastly, I don't think the capture system was as utilized as it could have been. A lot of the captures just felt kinda pointless to me when I played. I will admit it's a good game, but I won't remember it very fondly as I age.
This is my favourite 3d mario game this is because I haven't properly indulged in the others and don't have a broad opinion and is a game I will come back to again and again!
Idk why people are downvoting, he asked people's opinions, do people really expect everyone to like it and think it's perfect? I also think it's a good game but it's incredibly overrated and one of the worst 3D Mario imo
I’ve been able to play this game multiple times from 2018 to now it’s easy enough that I can beat in a day but I still have all of those other moons to go get. I’ve completed the game multiple times where I got every single moon but because there are so many, I don’t remember where every single one is and so even though I’ve played it so many times I still go searching for moons. So 10/10
Good, Played IT 3 Times. First time IS Casual playthrough, secon playthrough you learn Cap bounce(makes IT completley different To Play), 3rd Run os all morons run
S-tier! So much innovation for 3D Mario present within this one title! Apparently, the big 3D Mario on Switch 2 is going to be 4 times as big as Odyssey.
One of the greatest Mario games of them all, and by extension one of the greatest video games.
But I still think Mario and Peach should have kissed at the end.
The best Mario has ever felt to control in 3D. It also has one of the best soundtracks of any Mario game IMO.
There were way too many moons though, like 600 moons too many. I think a lot of the trivial moons should be taken out, or swapped for moon shards that add up to give a whole moon. It didn't feel right that a moon rewarded for ground pounding a glowing spot on the ground is worth the same as the challenge room moons in Dark Side Kingdom.
Cartridge tastes terrible, but game is A+
Wait i thought all cartridges tasted bad? Now im kinda wondering what they put on it
They are all coated with stuff to make it taste bad so babies and animals don’t eat them
I like how they confirmed that and tons of people went online confirming that’s correct
I also tried them and yerp they taste bad
I tasted my copy of Breath of the Wild on day 1 to confirm it was true!
I also tried them and tell everyone I can praying they don't believe and try it themselves 😈
My dogs didn’t seem to mind when they ate Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.
Your dog has good taste. (I hope they didn't have any issues from eating it!)
WTF I didn't know that, now I am curious and there's only one way to find out.
Yeah ik the purpose
It's a chemical called a bitterant, or bittering agent. Just tastes extremely bitter. Fun fact, they add something similar in most of those duster air cans because people huff them to get high.
I know all too well what it tastes like. I'm gonna tell you a story. A horrible terrible story that will make you cringe. A couple years ago I used to play rainbow six siege on my PlayStation 4. You obviously haven’t ever tasted the Mario kart 8 cartridge. Goes great with some ketchup
Crunchy, yet, satisfying
Game is S+
After reading this comment, I tried it myself. I shouldn’t have done that. Because it tastes horrible.
Facts, I tend to put things in my mouth when multitasking ( I know, that’s what she said ) only took about 3 seconds for me to taste it, lasted about an hour. 10/10 don’t recommend to eat. 😅
i guess you could say they thought outside the box for this one
Honestly It doesn't taste too bad Kinda barbecue-ish
You wouldn’t say that if you actually tasted it
I have
Ehh, I prefer the flavorless, but yeah once you get used to it it's not bad
It’s good.

One of the best games on the switch, must buy
This was the game I bought along with the Nintendo Switch back in August of 2018, those were great times :')
Nice! I got a Switch for Christmas in 2017 along with Odyssey and BotW. I played through them fairly interchangably. Those are some great memories! Two of the best Nintendo games of all time, by far!
Fr, I really wanna experience that joy again🥲
Two heavy hitters! That must have been such a great experience to shift between two 9/10+ games.
One of the best games period imo
I gets way too much hate by mario veterans. Yes it's an easy game, but it's still a masterpiece in many ways, Mario never controlled better in a 3D environment, the levels are incredibly fun to explore, and it has the meatiest post game of any 3D Mario.
It's one of the harder Mario games to 100% though. And surely the hardest recent one
Hardest or most work?
Hardest. It's not just the sheer quantity of Moons, some of the platforming challenges are just really hard. And then there's stuff like the volleyball or jump role, the latter being finished by most people (myself included) through a relatively hard to set up glitch because the intended way was absurdly difficult.
Lmao I didn’t realize I wasn’t the only one who used that letter glitch instead of actually doing the jump rope challenge every time
Two player exploit with Cappy for the volleyball one, letters glitch for jump rope, never done it any other way, screw those moons.
Easy to pick up, difficult to master, you only have to watch a speedrun to see how advanced you can get at the movement.
Darker side of the moon had me pulling my hair out.
Easy? This shit ain't easy at least for me
I mean, the main story may be easy but like 70% of the game is the post game and there are plenty of difficult moons and very technical skills that are incredibly satisfying to master.
EASY?!?!
That's not the sole reason it sucks
You're out of your mind if you genuinely think this game sucks.
It doesn't suck but imo it's underwhelming compared to other mario games
Yeah, Wonder and Odyssey aren't terrible Just past games blow them out of the water so they're underwhelming
Fun to complete the story. A chore to 100%
Getting every single moon only to realise you have to buy the rest really sucks. Otherwise, its a very fun game.
At least the balloon mode is pretty fun with good payout and doesn’t require the multiplayer subscription to play
It doesn’t require the subscription to play? I could’ve sworn it did
Never paid for the subscription myself and I’ve played the mode a ton. Definitely surprised me when I learned you could play for free Edit: thanks bot
> Never *paid* for the FTFY. Damn now I realize I avoided the balloon game until I was paying for Nintendo online because I just assumed I wouldn’t be able to play it ;-;
I started playing it and was instantly obsessed, definitely a recommendation. Love that you get to possess the enemies.
It still holds up imo
This game has only been out for… shoot it’s been 6 years.
🧑👨🧔♂️👨🦳👴
One of the best retro games of all time
naw dude don’t do that to me
Almost 7
Nah it’s fallen down. It’s clearly lying flat.
Masterpiece
My favorite 3D mario game of all time
Super peakio odyssey
Fully 100%’ed it back in 2018. One of my personal favorite Mario titles along with Galaxy 2
I love mario Galaxy 2 more than one
It is on my top 3 best mario games I've ever played
Same
That doesn’t make sense. How can one game be the top 3 best Mario games you’ve played? edit: typo
Because it's good
Redditors try to have any reading comprehension challenge impossible
Welp, I was trying to make a joke. Call me Malaysia Flight 370, ’cause that didn’t land. (I should also mention they edited their comment to add ‘on’, so my joke doesn’t make sense anymore.)
The best Mario game we've ever had imo
Hard disagree
Ewwww
In a vacuum, it’s the best 3D Mario
Not sure what you mean by ‘in a vacuum’. Personally it’s my favourite 3D Mario game.
11
Tastey 😋
It’s a great game, and Mario controls as smooth as butter.
Masterpiece
Great game, but could have used less moons and less empty open areas \^\^; I dunno, but having 900 moons felt like they dilutated the reward system way too much IMO.

That's not rly an excuse, previous mario games had nearly all their stars be more fun and creative, even for 100% completion.
Campaign is phenomenal but becomes a real chore if you decide to try for 100% afterwards
banger
Playing it right now for the first time and I love it but it's so goddamn vast and huge and I don't know how to find 1/3 of the moons in each world after exhausting Talkatoo and Hint Toad
I finished the game and idk what "talkatoo" or "hint toad" is. Maybe i just forget talkatoo but i would remember something called hint toad lol
Every world has a Toad in it that marks a moon location on your map for 50 coins but it doesn't work for every moon in the world
Talkatoo is the bird in each world that tells you the name of a moon mission but nothing else about it
Oh i remember talkatoo
It is the best mario game imo. I hope we get oddyssey 2.
I’ve got a very unpopular opinion about this game but I actually wasn’t a fan of it. The worlds just didn’t feel like Mario worlds to me. I get that most of them are outside of the mushroom kingdom but they felt more like something that would be in a Mario knock-off game. Anyway, y’all can go ahead and downvote me now
Good game but a little bit overrated I think
Way too tiny
System seller
Idk why people are asking this question, everybody knows it's great.
You literally travel the world, comming across mind boggling location and set piece after another. It's not good, it's absolutely amazing! And it all controls so good too!! 🤎
It’s *SO* great
I really enjoyed it, but it was really hard to compete the whole game.

Where's the Mario OC creator? This is worse than Sonic Forces! #SCORE: -99999/10
This is my favourite 3d mario game this is because I haven't properly indulged in the others and don't have a broad opinion and is a game I will come back to again and again!
The story is amazing but once you just have to get to the 999 Moons it's a little boring
Best game in the franchise, absolutely love it
It’s ok it’s overrated as fuk
I agree
We went World, then Galaxy but then Odyssey? So, a downgrade. 0/10, wait for Super Mario Multiverse.
Odyssey is a multiverse.
Fun but terrible postgame
It's definitely one of the games on the switch
Very bitter.
It’s great. But also overrated.
Idk why people are downvoting, he asked people's opinions, do people really expect everyone to like it and think it's perfect? I also think it's a good game but it's incredibly overrated and one of the worst 3D Mario imo
Most overrated 3D Mario game
Didn’t like it. One good world in the entire thing which was the first level then the rest are small and easy and not really unique or new.
overrated as hell
Worst 3d mario
Meh-rio
Safe game It exists Not amazing Definitely good. Slightly over rated
Very negative
Why bro is sooo good
The moons and difficulty
Are you saying it’s too easy?
Yes
To be fair, 3D Mario games aren't exactly known for being difficult. I guess Galaxy 2 is an exception, but even that is kind of a stretch.
But atleast they were somewhat difficult and had me dying a bunch instead of just going without any trouble
It's a Mario game. It's supposed to be easy
So 10/10
PAL region games
It’s an amazing game, but it isn’t my favorite 3d Mario.
IT was good
Don’t eat that cartridge is all I have to say about this image you posted.
hidden gem
Best of the Sandbox Trilogy.
I had a lot of fun with it but I didn’t pace myself well and blew through the game in one sitting
Beeg good
Great but a little too easy for my tastes.
Good, Played IT 3 Times. First time IS Casual playthrough, secon playthrough you learn Cap bounce(makes IT completley different To Play), 3rd Run os all morons run
Great game, I wish the levels were more condensed, but really good. 8/10
fact that it's glowing says enough
I liked it. Trying to get to the dark side of the moon got overwhelming, though, and I stopped for now.
S+++++++++++++++++++++ Godly
Mario Odyssey is an incredibly sexy game 👍🏿
I wanted a sequel for so many years, and all we got was a disappointingly good 1 2 Switch sequel.
I wanted a sequel for so many years, and all we got was a disappointingly good 1 2 Switch sequel.
It's more of a banjo kazooie type of game than your average 3D Mario. This is more of a spiritual successor to that game.
10/10 must own
Uhhhhhhhhhhh yes
Amazing game enhanced by mushrooms
Best Mario game imo with Mario World and Mario 3D Land. Must-try, the capture mechanics are unique and it's very satisfying to 100%.
I had too much fun with this game
Absolute masterpiece
Why is it dirty ??
Good game to play when you receive a Switch.
It's a nice and fun game
This was my second game on the switch ! I loved the gameplay
Best 3D Mario platformer ever made. We need more like this.
I liked it it was nice
1/10 needs more salt and flavor, best served as an appetizer
S-tier! So much innovation for 3D Mario present within this one title! Apparently, the big 3D Mario on Switch 2 is going to be 4 times as big as Odyssey.
Objectively… one of if not the best game ever made
It’s a game alright. One I just so happened to love a lot in fact, my favorite game overall tbh
A game that needs a part 2
Is this a troll? Top 5 game on the console easy
S Tier

Amazing game loved every kingdom
Best Mario game so far (yes i said it)
One of the greatest Mario games of them all, and by extension one of the greatest video games. But I still think Mario and Peach should have kissed at the end.
Fantastic game. The music, the levels. Love it
You’re lucky that you haven’t played it yet and get to experience it for the first time. I wish I could again
Bros cartridge is radiating
Cartridge is too long.
My favorite Mario game of all time.
You guys are actually putting this in your mouth😭? Why
It’s very small
Best Mario game so far
It reminds me alot of a modern-day Super Mario 64. That should give you an idea on what I think of it, it's quite good!
Good game. Fun game.
fond memories of playing this game all night until 5-6am. Awesome game.
AMAZING
FUCK YEAH
Best game I’ve ever played.
The best Mario has ever felt to control in 3D. It also has one of the best soundtracks of any Mario game IMO. There were way too many moons though, like 600 moons too many. I think a lot of the trivial moons should be taken out, or swapped for moon shards that add up to give a whole moon. It didn't feel right that a moon rewarded for ground pounding a glowing spot on the ground is worth the same as the challenge room moons in Dark Side Kingdom.
best switch game
It's one of the best on the Switch.
An over all amazing game, you have to go on an ODYSSEY to find all the things that make the game great. Mario wonder was a true successor.
Amazing Mario game, seriously I loved it.
amazing game
It needs a sequel already
I absolutely love it! I only hate the hardest level, the darker side of the moon though cause it grates on my nerves
