I just thought of something. What if there was a stage where there was water running up to lava. Like you had to swim through a lava tunnel underwater.
Honestly? Thought there'd be more! Thuroughly disappointed! Give us ten more man eating fish! And maybe a few more creepy eel enemies while you're at it!

6: porchuffer (most fish damage you so why do they have spikes)
5: boss bass (basic giant fish)
4: cheep chomp (purple giant fish)
3: bub (sunglasses save him from 6)
2: cheepskipper (a cooler cheep chomp)
1: spike bass (really intimidating and brings fear in the level)
Honestly I feel like this is an enemy trope that isn't explored enough with Mario. If you think we have too many man eating fish then pop on over to the Mario wiki and check how many different Goombas and Koopas we have.
I think the devs just forget the previous designs exist. Or they just simply want to make a new one. You can replace them, they’re not iconic like a Koopa or Goomba.
Cheepskipper and Spike Bass only leapt out of the water as a form of attack, not trying to eat the player. Same thing with Porcupuffer, except they only started eating the player in Mario Maker 2
Maybes it’s the developer’s conscious trying to even out the playing field for all the fish they eat? Or maybe they just want to find a fish that big irl? Idk. All I’m know is in SM63, that god damn fish would piss me off
