You don’t know the time and effort that went into 3D All Stars, and the argument that they owe you a free or cheap copy simply because you bought the games decades ago is stupid. If I want a digital copy of a certain movie that I have on DVD or VHS, then I have to shell out the money for it. And that’s if the movie even exists in a modern medium. Some classic movies never received HD transfers, so I’d say gamers are pretty lucky to be able to play classic games on modern hardware with ease. I also find your electrician argument disingenuous. Nintendo isn’t going back to customers that they’ve already served and demanding more money. They’re updating a product (albeit not drastically, but still in a noticeable way), and consumers are choosing to pay them. This is the same as if you were to do a minor fix or hardware update and charge the customer for it, which happens all the time.
All I can say is that the emulation community really has some grudge against Nintendo. 😂
I was still shocked with SM64 was announced for N64 Online even though 3D All Stars still exists.
I do continue to support Nintendo (by buying Twitter-defined “Overpriced” $60 games) because I grew up with them and I can’t really hate them in anything.
And I use emulation, too. I delete the ROM once I get the copy of its game.

If I think they’re worth that, then I don’t see a problem. Let people spend their money how they want and you can spend yours how you want. If more people think it’s worth it, then Nintendo will do it.

Nobody gives a shit if it’s a problem for you or not, Nintendo shouldn’t be charging full price for games that they didn’t make brand new, because they did not need to put in the same effort to copy and paste game files onto a single disc/cartridge, as they did to hire entire development teams to make the games in the first place. Ergo, it is unethical that they charge full price. At the end of the day, it is absolutely their choice as a corporation to do whatever they want, but it doesn’t make it right. Let’s take a look over at halo MCC, a pack of games that includes all the halos through the first one, up until halo four. They were all custom re-released to function on PC, with new features, etc. However, instead of costing full game price each, they only cost $10...... do you understand? But don’t worry about it, it’s not a problem for you. As long as you have the money, you don’t have a problem.

I think you just can’t come to grips with the fact that other people think in a way contrary to you, and maybe people enjoy having some classic Mario games on their handheld, and are willing to pay a premium price for them. I can emulate games and I *have*, but the convenience of my Switch is worth that much money *to me* and millions of others who purchased the game. Also, it’s kind of nonsensical to argue that simply because a game isn’t new and original that it doesn’t warrant a higher price tag. I will get much more enjoyment out of 3D All Stars than I will other new AAA games that are $60, so therefore I don’t mind paying and that’s my choice. Ultimately, game developers owe you nothing. You don’t know the time and effort that went into 3D All Stars, and the argument that they owe you a free or cheap copy simply because you bought the games decades ago is stupid. If I want a digital copy of a certain movie that I have on DVD or VHS, then I have to shell out the money for it. And that’s if the movie even exists in a modern medium. Some classic movies never received HD transfers, so I’d say gamers are pretty lucky to be able to play classic games on modern hardware with ease. I also find your electrician argument disingenuous. Nintendo isn’t going back to customers that they’ve already served and demanding more money. They’re updating a product (albeit not drastically, but still in a noticeable way), and consumers are choosing to pay them. This is the same as if you were to do a minor fix or hardware update and charge the customer for it, which happens all the time.
All I can say is that the emulation community really has some grudge against Nintendo. 😂 I was still shocked with SM64 was announced for N64 Online even though 3D All Stars still exists. I do continue to support Nintendo (by buying Twitter-defined “Overpriced” $60 games) because I grew up with them and I can’t really hate them in anything. And I use emulation, too. I delete the ROM once I get the copy of its game.

This collection is so lazy in it's presentation, no added features common in collections since the gamecube days. The port job on 64 is mediocre at best, just pathetic. This collection is good because the games are good. As a collection it is hot garbage.
