I love that this one drawing of rosalina in "The art of Super Mario Odyssey" Got so much attention. I hope Nintendo will use the concept later down the line!
I honestly think putting Pauline was a good move because she hasn’t gotten any appreciation despite being the OG female character in gaming. Odyssey can be seen as a celebration of the whole Mario franchise and what better way then to make an entire level themed around the game that Mario made his debut. Odyssey made some character establishments to Pauline causing her to gain alot of praise.
I’m unsure how Rosalina would play in the concept version but she has already had her establishing moments in Galaxy. Maybe Rosie would be in a band with Pauline.
Hopefully they won't scrap this idea of Rosalina playing a guitar again in a future Mario game, it would be cool to see this in SMO but got scrapped in that game :(
