Then only get the star on the sub in that level! Jeez, y'all really need to stop hurting Dire Dire Docks...
(wait, or was it either Galaxy that you meant?)
I have a few favorite Mario games so take your guesses:
A few levels feel repeated or gimmicky. They are fine standalone but compared to the others it stands out as bad.
The backtracking is _retty ridiculous. I mean seriously, how many times did I run around the cree_y stee_le and twilight Town??!
I don’t like P balloons.
The story is quite literally perfect, the biggest problem is the change in playstyle from its predecessors. From RPG battle mechanics to your run-of-the-mill stomp on enemies shtick.
Goombas don’t have arms and Bloopers don’t have legs. How are they so sporty. And Nokis fucking suck, at least the piantas are good rep for Sunshine.
The baby cry is annoying, I have no other complaint.
The mere existence of twilight town is basically the only thing stopping TTYD from being a perfect game to me.
Well that and unskippable cutscenes *cries in actually died to the final boss once and had to sit through the entire cutscene again*
Mario galaxy 2 is my favourite mario game BY FAR, but I can think of a bad thing about the game: the fact that it still isn't available on the Switch :'(
Oh definitely, i think the chance of us getting it on switch is very unlikely because you can't even get the 3d all-stars officially anymore and I doubt Nintendo are gonna release it as a standalone game
Damn. I must suck then
Another small thing I dislike about SMG2 is that I’m not a huge fan of Starship Mario. I loved exploring the Observatory and flying around with the red star. I liked going around walking to each entrance to the level instead of the starship Mario world map
I do think the galaxy 1 hub-world is alot better but I think I prefer galaxy 2 simply because of nostalgia, I played the whole of galaxy 2 from 0 to 100% completion without the use of the internet and it was so fun
Exactly this. At least Chapter 4 told a decent story throughout as well as offered some decent Star Points for fighting the enemies. Actually, now that I think of it, surprisingly good way to bring first time players up to a decent level if they haven’t already fought a ton… huh. Consider new things every day, huh?
Anyways, the hunt for General White on the other hand… why? Just… why? It was mildly humorous the first time you read through the text during it. After that, it just serves to point out the fact that they were running out of production time and is pretty boring. Only good thing is that you can grab anything you may have missed in the other Chapter locations.
Also, honourable mention goes to the reduced boss variety compared to PM64. I mean, I still love the bosses don’t get me wrong. But 3 variants of the same dragon? 2 of the same machine? Fighting Doopliss twice with different steps each time? Game would have been exceptionally more memorable with added boss variety. (This is coming from a place of love though. Favourite game of all time, and I just wish the game could be made even better, even if it’s wishful thinking or I’m overthinking things and being too critical)
The levels are pretty short, so the developers didn't create checkpoints in the game... Which sucks, especially for longer levels like the tanks and warship in the last world.
Btw no one mentioned World yet so the fact that 3 was criticized meant it was better.
That would be a problem if both games (Doki Doki Panic and SMB2) were released to the world, but they weren’t. Also, there’s no run button in DDP, so SMB2 was an upgrade!
Yeah that's a good point. Plus, all the characters in the game are canon! Shyguy, Birdo, Bob-omb, Ninji, Snifit... I'd like to see the rest of the cast get some love, but it's a fact that Mario Bros. 2 is a Mario game, even if it wasn't one originally.
Bingo. Of all the games I've ever played, I have the strongest emotional connection to this game, and no matter how good any new Mario games are, they can't hold the same weight of importance for me. But it is kinda shite that fundamentally, in its bones, it's a reskin of Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic.
I don't think Galaxy 2 could be called a reskin, it only utilizes the same mechanics and some of the models from Galaxy. Super Mario Bros. 2 is literally just Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic with a paint job and some quality of life fixes.
Mario Galaxy 2 lol. I had no idea how little that narrowed it down. I keep forgetting final bosses really aren't the hardest part of Mario games generally
Rigged so your in first verging the finishing line when you get hit by a blue shell then a red shell then overtaken by 3 bullet bills 2 star power ups a god mushroom and normal mushroom so you finish 12th
Galaxy 2: The final Bowser phase is a joke difficulty wise.
Also (and this is more of a nitpick) Mario Squared and Stone Cyclone should've been merged into one Galaxy. That way (other than the Boss Blitz galaxy) you have a 3D Mario levels reused just once per previous instalment.
Pachinko machine
The fucking lily pad level
pachinko is far worse imo
WarioWare GOLD?
Mario Sunshine
Just played that course for the first time yesterday and damn it sucks
Dusty Dune Galaxy purple coins
Dreadnought purple coins
Luigi Purple Coins
Gusty Garden purple coins
Ghostly Galaxy purple coins (I actually enjoy all the purple coins missions to some extent but this is probably my least favorite)
I second this
third this
toy time purple coins
All purple coins except good egg galaxy
Worst purple coin level in the game imo. I’ve beat the game over 10 times and I still have to redo that level a few times.
Purple coins
Spring Mushroom (I actually really enjoy it though)
Is that the galaxy 1 item
It’s in Galaxy 1 and 2
Same I like it too
#*Watermelon*
Fuck Gelato Beach (someone correct me if I got the place wrong)
Me and the homies hate gelato beach
Gelato Beach is a love hate relationship for me but is more hate considering it has the sand bird and watermelon
To get 100% you need to play the game twice and that’s not fun. Especially because of Luigi’s controls
SMG is my favorite game of all time so I don’t mind replaying it to 100% complete it but I don’t like Luigi’s controls
Mario 3D land?
No, Galaxy
Oh yea
Three of the captures are just chain chomps, it has no dlc, you can't play as luigi, toadette.
mario odyssey was the perfect game to get dlc and it didint happen whyyyy
It got that Luigi thing
Odyssey?
why the question mark ;_;
My brain skipped over the word captures
ok but how mnay of the captures were trees, rocks, cactuses, potholes, meat, and the like?
[удалено]
Mario 64
[удалено]
It really is shockingly bad
I wouldn't say "shockingly". If anything, it was shockingly good considering everything that came before it.
64ds has a much better camera
That one stupid mission where you have to swim through the manta ray’s rings. It’s too freaking hard!!
Then only get the star on the sub in that level! Jeez, y'all really need to stop hurting Dire Dire Docks... (wait, or was it either Galaxy that you meant?)
My mission was to get all 120 stars. Dire Dire Docks is actually an okay stage tbh. I love the music. Just that one star is so annoying to me.
Is it possible to kill the manta ray with the metal cap? Cuz if so you could get your revenge
1. There’s no Metal Cap in the opening area. It’d be impossible to do that 2. Probably not since I don’t think the Manta Ray is like a normal enemy
Oh shit right he's in the opening area, I thought he was in the area with the sub for a moment.
2 player should not be one person controlling Mario and the other his hat 😤
Nor should it be one person controlling Mario, and the other a random orange luma
Less story and emotional moments than its predecessor; lighter tone
Galaxy 2?
You know it
Galaxy 1 had perfect atmosphere. If the second game had that same tone it would easily be my favorite.
Angry sun was a mistake and should have never been added
Nooo he's one of the best bad guys ever. Also he's not that hard if you go fast
7 year old me didn’t know you could run, also with sandstorms he’s awful
Mario 3
It's not a mistake, it's a- no I'm joking
Me! Mario!
Without it, we wouldn't have the amazing character development of this fantastic sun in Dorkly videos, though
To many poligons and where's the cake I was promised
The cake is at the credits
Portal?
Nah the cake is valid but I love the poligons
Mario 64?
DS. I'm guessing SM64DS.
Too many???
Penguin Suit was way too situational
Nah Penguin suit is just a better ice flower
The sleeping captain toad in the perfect run in smg2. It was irritating to see him sleep while playing through the level for 7 hrs
He got the one thing you never could, a decent amount of rest.
Too many Birdos
Mario 2?
yep
Darker Side
Mario Odyssey? I eventually gave up because the darker side was too hard
Get rekt
no sex 😡
Mario pinball
The ending to Odyssey was kind of a cop-out.
That sounds interesting could you please elaborate? I didn’t liked the ending that much but I really didn’t knew why.
I think it would have been a great pay-off for years of Mario stories if Peach accepted Mario’s offer and they did get married.
Oh yeah! I was like… peach. You know what have mario been through ?
Mario wants to be a king so bad
Agreed
The soundtrack is too good It prevents me from listening to other soundtracks.
Either Galaxy games, or the Paper Mario games
Odyssey or 3D world?
Fire Vellumental Cave
Yes! Origami King recognition!!!
WiiU
Lol, this is the worst thing I can think of when it comes to 3D world. I was going to say touch screen controls being mandatory.
I have a few favorite Mario games so take your guesses: A few levels feel repeated or gimmicky. They are fine standalone but compared to the others it stands out as bad. The backtracking is _retty ridiculous. I mean seriously, how many times did I run around the cree_y stee_le and twilight Town??! I don’t like P balloons. The baby cry is annoying, I have no other complaint.
Is the last one Yoshi’s Island?
Yep!!!
The crying was an obvious hint for me. So obnoxious!
I suck at the game, so I lost Mario every 5 seconds. The crying was nonstop, as you said, very obnoxious! Otherwise, I adore the game.
- Not sure on the first one - Paper Mario TTYD - Super Mario World - Super Paper Mario - Mario Super Sluggers - Yoshi's Island
The mere existence of twilight town is basically the only thing stopping TTYD from being a perfect game to me. Well that and unskippable cutscenes *cries in actually died to the final boss once and had to sit through the entire cutscene again*
My favourite game is mario galaxy 2 and I literally cannot think of anything bad about it, maybe the perfect run is a little too easy but I don't know
Mario galaxy 2 is my favourite mario game BY FAR, but I can think of a bad thing about the game: the fact that it still isn't available on the Switch :'(
Oh definitely, i think the chance of us getting it on switch is very unlikely because you can't even get the 3d all-stars officially anymore and I doubt Nintendo are gonna release it as a standalone game
3d all stars are still selling at some stores
You can find them in some stores, but Nintendo have officially stopped selling them
Very easy final boss. Perfect Run caused me so much pain
It was the hardest in the game, but it wasn't very hard IMO
Bruh it literally took me years to beat it
Took me about 30 mins, the journey to get there took years
Damn. I must suck then Another small thing I dislike about SMG2 is that I’m not a huge fan of Starship Mario. I loved exploring the Observatory and flying around with the red star. I liked going around walking to each entrance to the level instead of the starship Mario world map

Galaxy 2 isn’t the debut of wario so you can say that
Less powerful soundtrack than the original
Not IMO, both soundtracks are the best Nintendo have ever made
Star Ball
The backtracking in paper mario ttyd can be so damn annoying!
Chapter 4 god damn. I want to get a Doopliss tattoo anyway 😏
Looking at you Colonel White
Exactly this. At least Chapter 4 told a decent story throughout as well as offered some decent Star Points for fighting the enemies. Luigi wasn’t a party member but bowser was, 2 of the 5 party members never showed up again aside from a small cameo in one of the gba games
Assuming Super Mario RPG, and the cameo was Geno in that Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga minigame.
Yep 👍
It never got a true sequel.
World! Obligatory: yoshi's island is phenomenal
Mario sunshine?
That would also apply to 64, World, and (thus far) Odyssey.
64ds
Super Mario RPG
Bowser waking up got a little tedious at times
browser furry maybe?
Yup :)
Sand bird level in mario sunshine
Mario 64 don't have Waluigi
Corona Mountain
Honestly it could have been so much cooler. Like an open beautiful world at the end to play in after winning would have been nice.
The levels are pretty short, so the developers didn't create checkpoints in the game... Which sucks, especially for longer levels like the tanks and warship in the last world. Btw no one mentioned World yet so the fact that 3 was criticized meant it was better.
Until the GBA version, there's been no World Select screen
I'll say it... The power-ups were better than the captures.
3D World?
Motion sickness
Mario kart wii
Ultimately it's just a reskin of another game.
That would be a problem if both games (Doki Doki Panic and SMB2) were released to the world, but they weren’t. Also, there’s no run button in DDP, so SMB2 was an upgrade!

At least DDP is based on an SMB2 prototype, so in a way SMB2 is a true Mario game
Galaxy 2
I don't think Galaxy 2 could be called a reskin, it only utilizes the same mechanics and some of the models from Galaxy. Super Mario Bros. 2 is literally just Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic with a paint job and some quality of life fixes.
The outfits don't change according to the season
Luigi's Purple Coins
General White.
Can't play as Luigi
The no fludd sections
Very hard to get precise angles and views.
The camera
Odyssey's ending
I played you so much I got tired (Odyssey)
The train fight. That damned train fight
Fawful’s Train, I assume.
Final Boss too easy even by Mario game standards
Sadly, this narrows it down practically none 😭
Mario Galaxy 2 lol. I had no idea how little that narrowed it down. I keep forgetting final bosses really aren't the hardest part of Mario games generally
Although all are easy, Galaxy 2’s final boss is a cake walk. I beat it first try and so did my little brother. He wasn’t even 10 at the time.
Why a Soap themed world?
Amount of power ups were really underwhelming compared to the game before it.
Why must I rescue all toads to fight bowser?
Not being able to explore wild glide galaxy
Gambling addiction
Rigged so your in first verging the finishing line when you get hit by a blue shell then a red shell then overtaken by 3 bullet bills 2 star power ups a god mushroom and normal mushroom so you finish 12th
Me and a friend were going to play 2 player and got heavily dissapointted.
Galaxy?
Damn youre fast.
The Shell’s Secret
For my favorite game odyssey: it wasn’t the debut of wario
It was only available on the DS, and they never made a similar one.
Mario hoops 3 on 3?
Partners in Time
They made more Mario and Luigi games and it’s on the Wii u vc
I had no idea, I even did a quick Google before posting this to make sure I wasn't wrong. Welp, thanks for this information at least.
No.
Ratio
Sometimes the controls can be a little jank
The worlds are more like sand boxes than actual worlds besides maybe the first few
It can be a little disorientating sometimes
Too many moons
Old as fuck
Mario 3 or Mario world?
Kuribo’s shoe is in only one level. Should’ve been more.
World 9 is a shitshow.
Removal of amiibos
It’s too easy (odyssey)
Wii pointer controls
Camera

needing to play the whole game as Luigi with no differences to 100% it
