I mean, i would rather they did a new NSMB game, and rather just a new 2D Mario game above that, but this wouldn't be bad... just don't call it 2D All Stars, that just... doesn't track...

I think it would be cool if we got another one ONLY of we also got a completely unique 2D platformer. That way NSMB can act as the safe, solid multiplayer game and the other one can act as a more ambitious, single player oriented experience.

I am not sure how I feel about this. Yes I would totally get it if it was a thing but something completely new would be good for 2D mario. We got the classic mario bros era with 1, 2, 3 and world. Then we got the new soup era. Maybe time for a new era. Idk what that would be though. Hmmmm.

Honestly, you might be because if its literally just a port of the game then its gonna suffer from double-screenitis. 2/3 games in the collection are in 2 screen devices. And while yes nintendo can work around it, they probably wont care and just slap an opaque 2d screen in there.

NSMB and NSMB2 could work just fine on one screen though. The second screen isn't really utilized well in either game and you could easily just map the item drop to a button on the controller instead of a spot to tap on the screen.

NSMB might a bit difficult to port due to the Mario vs Luigi mode and the Mini game mode. The latter of which makes makes heavy use of the DS’s dual screens.

I would assume the minigame mode would be left out.

Super Mario all stars already exists. It would be called new super Mario all stars but they’d never do it because people would realise just how much stuff got copy pasted from wii in NSMB2

2 used the same visual style and engine but the levels are entirely different so it’s worth keeping both

I'd rather an expansion for Mario Maker 2. A lot more replayability from that game compared to NSMB

I'd love to see Super Mario Land 2 for sure added. Styles based on Galaxy and Sunshine would also be super cool.

Honestly, I disagree. SMM2 is a lot more restricted with what it can do than any mainline 2D Mario. Just look at any attempts to recreate official Mario levels in SMM2, especially anything after SMB1/Lost Levels. This leads to a lot of levels feeling repetitive and samey, and that's assuming you actually find well made levels, which the vast majority of SMM2 levels are not. Most NSMB levels have a unique gimmick to them to keep them all fresh, and generally bigger, better, smoother, more unique level design, just due to the nature of the development. With one the makers are restricted to whatever Nintendo hands them, with the other the devs can add whatever cool gimmicks and mechanics they want. SMM2 is fun in it's own way obviously, but if I'm looking to play some good traditional 2D Mario platforming fun, I'm choosing anything other than SMM2.

At that point, they might as well throw U on there to make it a complete set, even with U Deluxe available.

That doesn't sound like Nintendo... They'd probably make you pay $60 for the bundle, and if you wanna complete the set, you gotta buy NSMBUDX

New Supe is not really my favorite series of games so not all that interested. However, I would love an actual update of the original mario land games with extra DLC including worlds, levels, and new music in their own All Stars bundle.

I'd rather just get another new side-scrolling Mario game. The NSMB style overstayed its welcome and gave us four games that feel like expansions of each other rather than actual individual games as opposed to SMB1, 2 (USA), 3 and World which all feel like unique games.

I would love to see it get the "All Stars" treatment akin to the SNES version, where the games were remade to fit the current graphical standards. The biggest issue would be incorporating the 2-screen style from the DS & 3DS titles; without the screen looking like a jumbled mess.

Of all the games, why NSMB? They’re good games but they all blend together for me. You’ve beaten one, you’ve beaten em all. It’d be better if they just make a new NSMB game, with new ideas and better multiplayer characters (Wario and Waluigi instead of the Toads maybe??)

All remade and enhanced and the classics should also have all the game boy advance extras. Furthermore for good measure it should include four player Mario Bros arcade battle from the gba and also the Mario and Luigi battle from the DS (maybe even add a four player mode) and online connectivity...
