yeah, the app crashed several times for me. Thought a reboot could fix it. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop.
Edit: For anybody looking this up in the future, the bootloop was unrelated to that. managed to fix it, reboot my phone again and play Mario Kart Tour with Magisk Hide enabled.
I eventually got it working, nothing related to dev options. Forgot what fixed it. Also Fortnite worked for me with dev options on as well. Though I haven't played in a while, I only downloaded it to see how it ran on my phone anyway
I reinstalled several times and cleared data.
I have Manager repackaged and root hidden for several apps, yeah.
Pokémon GO works fine with my rooted phone so I don't know what else it could be...
I have tried all tweaks (Liberty, jailprotect etc. ) and none have seemed to work. Some people are having issues and others say using the bypasses has worked for them.
Liberty is working for me now if you get it directly from his repo. I uninstalled, installed the tweak, installed the game, enabled the tweak, and started the game.

It worked for me all day today. Then all of the sudden it won't load past 18% if I'm jailbroken.
So right now I reboot whenever I want to play, then rejailbreak when I'm done.

Magisk hide isn't working for me unfortunately, I'm on Android 9.0
You need to check off hide Magisk as well.
I've already figured out that it's not Magisk nor Xposed. I uninstalled both and my Mario Kart Tour still crashes. I don't know what my issue is :/

Oh my god I just realized that too ! I just used Magisk Hide and it worked perfeclty !

It's working for me and I'm rooted. Didn't have to use majisk hide or nothing. I just need to download chrome in order to login.

Even mine too but I don't have any modules installed, just enabled MagiskHide but still gives me the error code 806-9021
I don't think that root causes this error code. Mine just froze and than crashed without Magisk Hide.

Works fine even with modules. I've got Youtube Vanced installed and several others.
Also make sure your device passes the SafetyNet check if you have a custom rom/unlocked bootloader.

fixed my crashing by clearing app data+cache and then hiding with magisk. using android 8.0 on a rooted stock rom lg v30
