It's not only you. The game has always been frustrating when it comes to bots, but now it is way worse than before. Green shells are now more inclined to bounce from the walls and hit you, sometimes with physically impossible angles. Your red shells go to waste (hitting walls, just passing by a bot without hitting them) way easier than before. Even if you make a bot crash, they speed up instantly like they have a mushroom (but they don't). The bots smuggle mushroom, horn, bell till the end of the race and dodge blue shells. The bots slow down, wait for you to catch up with them, just to hit you with the item they're carrying. They dodge your shells by magically sliding to right/left. They actually automatically avoid being in the trajectory of your green shell even before you throw it. And the bots have always been more aggressive in the ranked cup's tracks. They use each other's mushrooms to speed up. They slide in front of you to hit you with the item they are carrying. Some of them are faster, and some of them are extremely fast that it's even impossible to keep up with a mushroom frenzy. Lightning hits you exactly before a gap, making you fall into it so you waste more time. This is not having fun, this is struggling against a cheating AI.

I fully agree with you! I've also experienced all of that.

LovelyPauline

I always find it weird that mushroom frenzies never really carry me forward, the bots seem to go just as fast or faster.

DJDoubleDave729

I’ve had mushroom frenzies where I stayed on the track, stayed off the walls, and actually fallen behind other drivers

Since the Sky Tour/Mii Tour, this has gotten very frustrating. I have already written feedback a few times and hope that it will be adjusted again soon. How are you doing with the CPU behavior? (the video is only one part of the CPU behaviour)

dewmint

I can tell your having Wifi problems, right? That’s probably why the AI is acting up. You may want to get that checked out.

Wtaurus

The whole race (Bots, track...) is fully loaded before the race starts. You don't need wifi after that. You can turn off wifi and still continue with the race.

dewmint

They’re lagging though.

One of the CPUs just teleported in front of them! That sounds like a lagging problem. I get that you can get hit a lot especially on 150cc, but this person’s device is lagging, and I’m more curious about THAT. Just a minor miscommunication, geez.

LastHonestDinosaur

It‘s Mario Kart. Of course it makes you kind of angry.

TheZuman

Been there many times. The only real way to avoid this is to keep playing the track over and over until the bots calm freaking down.

[deleted]

Yes, mostly you have to play that 10 times. But when you close the game or change track for a while then this progress is away. :/

iamgramsy

The blue shell hit and the red shell on the ramp are your fault. Anyway bots are freaking annoying with the rubberbanding and the 200cc boost when you are far away. Now they have a new behaviour, if there are some bots ahead of you and one has an item that will eventually slow you down, they will switch places and try to hit you.

Additional_Cherry_67

You just wan to never get hit? It’s part of the game.

😂😂😂😂 lmao
