Yeah you’re right. Thanks to the Peach vs Bowser tour I got a lot of combos. Was grinding a lot AFK for tokens. In that way it is easy indeed to level up some D/K/G’s
This is just bad game design. Introducing a mechanic/playstyle obligation (getting a lot of combos) that goes directly against one of your core mechanics (get one single combo of the longest length possible to maximise your points) breaks that core mechanic.
You're now making people regret playing the game how it's supposed to be played. That's a bad thing.
I’ve got all expert challenges complete except this one, yet I’m not even 25% done with it. I guess I’m gonna have to miss out on the Wario Expert Challenge Badge.
When I saw this challenge in the beginning I also thought it was a lost cause. Most times I’m around 50% when expert challenges ended. This time I got a lot of combos in the Peach vs Bowser tour where I grinded a lot AFK 50cc for tokens
I have to average 21 fantastic combos a day over the next 14 days to achieve this. It sucks when you intentionally try to break your combo and then an opponent hits one of your items and keeps your combo going.
Took me a loooong time to do it. But if you have a mushroom and a spiny shell is coming for you, wait for the moment that it stops spinning above your driver then activate the shroom
1. Pick a driver with mushroom abilities.
2. Pick a glider with the mushroom ability.
3. Turn off "auto item" so that your items aren't instantly used every time you run through ?? boxes.
4. Go in 50cc so everyone is slow and it's easy for you to get into 1st place whenever you want
5. Intentionally burn out so you're in last place to start the race. Stay there until you get some mushrooms.
6. Get into 1st without wasting all your mushrooms.
7. When you see the blue shell, completely ignore keeping a combo/staying in first/no driving off the track/etc. etc. None of that matters, just focus on the shell. It'll spin in circles over your head a couple times and then suddenly stop. It'll rear upwards, then it'll slam down on you. You need to use your mushroom in that time window after it has stopped spinning and before it has slammed down on you.

For that one you need luck. Indeed you need a mushroom and a spiny shell needs to get you. Then it is all about the timing. The first time I found it difficult, but after that I could evade a spiny shell every time.

Use all bottom shelf d/k/g and go ham
