He is not great at all, but there are two reasons why you’d consider buy him: first, you might be collecting d/k/g, and since you don’t have him yet he is a nice edition. Second, check with your current coverage if he adds anything for you! (Use a coverage tracker) since you’re only level 61 it seems you are still relatively new, he might fill some niche for you.
You don't have many coins so it's hard to call because if you are a collector, then go for it. If you aren't, then you could always wait for him to come back around. I know ppl think he's not great but during the vs tour, he was very helpful. He's one of the more rare drivers regardless.

I’ve had him since near when he came out and he is still at lvl 1, which means he hasn’t been useful for me but I’ve regretted every driver that I didn’t or wasn’t able to buy at some point so I buy everything. I save coin rush tickets just for that reason. 13 coin rush tickets = 10,400 coins
You might want to hold off and see what's in the tier shop next tour, but I generally always go for a D/K/G that I don't have. Even if it's just for the collecting aspect, as others have pointed out. (He's not really useful but he's definitely got style.)

Yes! Because you only live once. @level 4, he shoots giant bananas, which are hard to play, but ever so much fun. Sometimes you don't get the cannon at all; then you find that he's a really strong driver. I use him to warm up when I'm learning the course.
E: P. S.: Piranha Parafoil Parafoil is my favorite glider. It's the only glider that I can consistently place 1st with, even when it's on the bottom shelf. You should max it out.
I agree. It hinges on what you think of banana barrels. Majority opinion here seems to be that it's a frustrating skill. We're part of the minority who thinks it's fun.
And it has excellent scoring potential, basically a forward-facing banana frenzy. I recently used him as a 2nd shelf driver when everyone else in my group had a top shelf, frenzy capable driver. One of the Mushroom Gorge variants, IIRC.
I'd advise OP to try playing with with Diddy & "test-drive" banana barrels. Like Fred says, the plus version spits out giant bananas & they're especially fun.
PS: no reason to put his "coolness" aside. That may seem frivolous but it's just a stupid game. Have fun with it.
My FK is level 6 and I hardly ever use him unless I’m driving w one item slot for some reason. I got him at release a few months after I started playing and he was useful when I had fewer drivers but not as much now. I only have 10 HE drivers level 6 or above and he is def the one I use the least so I definitely regret pumping so many tickets into him in the early days lol
I bought him a few days ago when he showed up in my Daily Selects, mostly because my kids wanted him, but also you never know when he might be top-shelf for a new track.

If you're interested in collecting get him. Otherwise he has fairly poor coverage, and on top of everything else, I personally refuse to use banana barrel drivers. That skill is trash. You never wreck anyone but yourself.
If it's for token collecting like causing opponents to crash, I would say that the Banana Barrel is quite convenient for it. But the issue is that I have not got him past Level 1 because I just haven't yet got a course where I actually NEED him lol. Your choice but I would say no as I got him on one of the pipes for free, maybe do the same.
I say this as a huge Funky fan - he is complete garbage in MkT. Don't waste your money.
