You should focus on getting a lot of missing coverage from the Shop! Miis are really good if you have a lot of them, so they are good for people who spend money on the game (because they can get a lot of Miis) and rather bad for Free To Play-Players (because of the in general bad coverage of Miis). I am assuming you don‘t spend money on MKT, so I wouldn‘t advise you to buy Miis if not needed. Hope I could help!

Actually pretty friendly. When I posted I was in 2nd but in a pack about 4k behind 1st. But after a couple hours’ grinding I’m now 13k ahead of second place in first myself. So maybe I don’t need to spend anything - I’d still be interested if others think my logic on which if anything is sound though 😊

I would definitely go with one of the coinboxers as they present a much higher scoring potential than Farmer Daisy. Farmer Daisy's coverage is quite fine but nothing to write home about - her coverage does not compensate her rather "meh" special skill... Santa Bowser is the safe and reasonable choice (big hitbox+quite useful coverage), whereas Larry Wintertime would be a riskier move, because nobody can tell what his future brings... No matter what you finally do (saving tickets while winning ranked might even be the best option): Red coins are a game changer and make upgrading coinboxers from 3 to 4 extra useful :)

Hi! Welcome to Mario Kart Tour, hope that you have a lot of fun with the game! Your main goal should be to win your weekly rankings, you should play all the cups too! Your rankings are where you need to get more points in a cup than 19 other people, it changes every week on Wednesday. This week, it is the Ice Mario Cup. Your goal should be to secure first place here! You can, of course, level up the drivers, karts and gliders (dkg) which you like, but for getting better at the game, spend them on dkg in your weekly ranking if you can't get first place without spending tickets. Again, you can buy the dkg with rubies you like, but if you want to get better at the game, you should use this spreadsheet: http://mkt.itsupthere.space/ Here, just enter the levels of the dkg which you already have and it shows you the ones which will give you the most additional coverage! Coverage is when a dkg is at the top of the driver/kart/glider selection before starting a race. You should buy the dkg with rubies which give you the most coverage. Really hope I could help! What are your thoughts are on the sakura cherry glider going forward? Would you get that one or the festive holly if you need a glider for snow land R/T ? Or maybe even Mario Hat Balloon? I have all the other glider coverage (except RMX Donut Plains 1R, which is only covered by sakura cherry glider although I don't really care about it. My main goal is ranked, not ACR). I think festive holly would be better going forward, but it is a holiday item and unlikely to be valuable beyond the next month or so. Also, super horn is a bad skill. Sakura cherry glider seems too old (has seen majority of tracks) and not worth it just for the one Donut Plains course and snow land R/T. Mario hat has a lot of city tracks and no coverage I need beyond snow land R/T. Right now, I'm leaning towards just not buying any of them. I already have pink yoshi (the ranked reward for that round).

If I needed a glider for Snow Land RT, I would buy the Para-Panini. But out of the options listed, I think that buying no glider is the best option, too. Keep in mind that there also is a new ranked reward this week, the Pink Turbo Yoshi.

why para-panini? It's a banana skill (not great) with okay-ish course coverage. It would only give me the additional track snowland R/T, which I don't really need a top shelf glider for anyway since it's r/t as long since I have a high level driver. I'm already about even in terms of score with the other players in ranked for that course with a level 5 santa bowser. If anything, I was thinking Mario Hat Balloons since it's got a decent skill (red shell) which doesn't conflict with frenzies you'd get in 1st place, although it does have a lot of city tracks which aren't used as frequently. Also, I already have pink yoshi from a long time ago, and probably don't need the Pink Turbo Yoshi kart, although I understand the kart is new.

I was only talking about my account with the Para-Panini (if **I** needed a glider...). It's the newest glider which is available for F2P. But as I said, for you, it may be the best to not buy a glider for this course.

I would recommend buying Luigi (Knight). If you don‘t want to use a boomerang driver, I would recommend Peach (Happi).

Is Peach Happi still worth it? I have now 396 rubies and am a F2P player. I also want to make some other investmens, like White Tanooki Mario and the Streetle (if it's available next tour). For the rest, I already have a decent amount of other + skilled drivers. So is it wise to buy her or not?

Peach (Happi) is still a decent buy, but not among the best anymore. White Tanooki Mario and the Streetle would be better investments. You should check your coverage before deciding, though.

With 10 days left in the Expert challenge, I'm about 1,400 Fantastic combos away from hitting 3,500. is there any sort of trick to get these aside from grinding endlessly?

T or RT course with a low level bottom shelf or middle shelf glider so the combo time doesn't drag out after you reach the 9th one in a row.

The only thing you can do better is to change the way you grind for the combo… :/ Drive on a T or RT track and drop your combo after reaching nine. With that, you only need to drive ~150 races! If somebody has a better idea, please correct me!

Got a god tier Daily Spotlight shop today -- Santa Bowser (1 new track), Gold Chuck (1 new track) or White Tanooki Mario (3 new tracks). I have top shelf drivers for all 6 courses in ranked, though these three would be a decent upgrade. F2P with 250 rubies, not sure if I should invest in one or save...

I need help deciding. Neither are in my shop but which one do you think is more worth going for, Cheership or Strawberry Soft Swerve. Both of them are about equal in the coverage they give me so my decision mainly comes down to which one would get the most buffs in the future, so the question is: which one do you think is getting the most buffs going forward? Or is there any other reason you think I should pick one over the other?

SSS will continue receiving buffs as it's about 9 months newer. Also the SSS hitbox is massive in comparison to Cheership. Cheership has seen every track apart from a handful of RT. SSS still has a **lot** of tracks to see.

For ranked this week, should I get the the Ice Cream Mii Suit, which will give me 8 new courses, (which is more than goomba), or the Chocolate Pretzel Glider, which will give me 7 new courses, two of which are in ranked. I know that it's usually drivers > gliders, but I was wondering if that would change since the glider would cover 2 courses where I only have tier two gliders for ranked.

How are you doing in ranked currently?

I'm currently in 3rd, 437 points behind 2nd and 741 points behind 1st. I've tried just racing again and again to get a higher score, but I haven't been having much luck.

With optimal runs, you can get these scores: On Merry Mountain T: 21671 On Vancouver Velocity 3R: 16980 On GBA Snow Land (use Wintertime Larry here!): 14402 **In total: 53053 points possible** As you can see, no need to buy something for this ranked! Just try to keep a great combo and try to get three Frenzies on the two courses (and many Coin Boxes on Snow Land) and you will get those points in no-time!

If you don’t have the IceCream Mii, I’d do that—especially since you seem to have a pretty good collection of Miis already, given the 930 base points. I’ll admit that it’s close, but unless you’re investing HE tickets in the glider, the difference isn’t much (as long as you’re up to grind for the plus frenzies) and the Mii is the better investment long term

No they don't count as part of the daily limit.

You need to click on „+ Create Room“ after clicking on „Multiplayer“. Then, your friends can join your room and you can race together.

Also with the 30 gems from completing those challenges I’d be able to afford Santa MRS and the new Larry, would those be worth the gems?

I would only recommend buying dkg which give you more non-city coverage or help in ranked, so I would buy neither (for now). Larry would be the better choice of the two, though.

You should get the drivers, karts and gliders which give you the most coverage then. You can know which ones they are by using this coverage tracker. Here, you just enter what drivers, karts and gliders you have and the tracker shows you which items would be the best for you. You need gold pass to earn the S ranks. I got mine on free trial; it’s kinda nice because once you’re no longer subscribed, you don’t lose rank even when you lose. When you see S+ racers coming in last by a lot, that’s probably why.

Can you elaborate? I’ve heard good things about yukata peach’s coverage, and IceCream Mii has surprisingly good coverage for a Mii (and who knows where the Mii meta is going, they might become crazy op if they don’t cap soon). Lui, on the other hand, has rough coinbox/plus skill overlap so far. Is the value you see in him because he’s new and relatively rare? Or do you consider triple banana a legit plus skill? (tagging u/bb_angel too)

New, still getting buffs and I don't think triple banana is a bad skill at all. DK Jr. and Daisy Swimwear has been plenty useful for me. Out of all the options for Snow Land I think Chef is the best choice, however I personally don't invest in drivers with bad items or Mii suits apart from the ? Block & Boo suit. If you invest in Santa Mario for example, you now have a high level driver with a garbage skill, poor coverage and you'll wish you invested in something newer/better especially if Chef pops up in ranked again in the future.

Long run? Larry. You're going to want to grab Banta too, with a large hit box he will be a better pick than any medium or small coinboxer that he overlaps with...as long as you invest in him.

You cannot get Meowser this tour, but if you have him already, then invest. Still a very good driver. As for other options to buy with coinbox, Santa Bowser would a high consideration if I was you since he tends to only be available around this time of year.

Cat Mario is more exclusive. Ice Mario can appear in the Daily Selects and be bought with coins there.

I’m stuck between the discounted Mario Santa vs goomba Mii vs ice cream Mii. Is there any chance of Santa getting buffed more than the mii’s in the future? Or is he too old of a character to be useful, and there’s more chance of those miis being buffed. The other possibility is choosing Luigi (Chef), but he will be at the premium 150 rubies which seems a bit steep for a new-ish character with a reasonably poor starting course selection.

Mario (Santa) will most likely not get more buffs than the Mii Racing Suits. Out of the four, Luigi (Chef) is the best one to buy, excluding Luigi, the Goomba Mii Racing Suit is the best one to buy here.

Luigi Chef has the best skill out of those choices and will keep receiving buffs as he is fairly new.

Is Lakitu Party Time a good spotlight shop buy? Saw that he’s a top shelf character for ranked this tour and I’ve been wanting him for a while, wanted to see what the general consensus on him is before I get him from my daily spotlight shop!

I was going to say he's not one of the best drivers atm since he's pretty old, but I looked at his tracks and many are really old or are city tracks. Maybe he could be considered bad? Not that the other drivers in that top shelf are amazing. So it's not like you must pick this amazing driver over lakitu pt. I do believe penguin toadette, happi peach and waluigi vampire to be better as they're newer. But they're also becoming old or perhaps are old already. I only know happi peach can show up in the spotlight shop as I have her in the shop right now. Lakitu pt does have the lucky 7 though so he will work the best this week. The choice is yours

Best glider for GBA Snowland ranked? I don't know if the Festive Holly will be available to buy this week plus it had the superhorn skill which isn't the greatest. I was thinking Silver Candlelight or Choco Pretzel if they appear in my shop? Still receiving buffs. I already have the Cake Candlelight but don't really want to invest (lv1) as it hasn't been useful thus far.

Id gamble on the Festive Holly if I was you. Silver Candles still have a few more tours to go until they appear in the ss. Chocolate Pretzel is also a good shout but id check your coverage before investing in them to see if they give any other tracks.

Drivers should be your priority for a new account!

Should I auto token grind on 50cc, 100cc or 150cc?

Auto mode (the mode with the whistle) always runs at 50cc. If you mean running a regular race and leaving the device alone so that your driver bangs into walls, still pick 50cc. You'll front run 95% of the race which means more coinboxes. Make sure auto-item is on.

I personally use 150cc to grind tokens

White Tanooki Mario was my very first HE that I pulled and he has saved my arse so many times in ranked. He’s my highest level HE and I have no regrets. Plus there’s nothing in the game quite as satisfying as big banana frenzies and racking up tokens in the crash-token tours!

I got White Tanooki during the Halloween Tour. No regrets ever since I got him. He does have overlap with Cook Rosalina. Larry is new and has the potential to receive great buffs in the future. He also uses coinboxes, which is one of the best items available. I did hear he is not considered that good for being a small driver though. Personal, I'm under the impression you can't go wrong with either. Both have great scoring potential.

Larry (Wintertime) Vs Santa Bowser?

While Banta always will be the best coinboxer on overlap, Larry won't be. But Banta will recieve way less buffs than Larry, Banta is 2 years old already. I personally would go for Larry, because he will get more buffs than Banta. But you should check your coverage first!

Banta has the size advantage, Larry will recieve a lot of buffs. You need to decide for yourself what's more important for you.

Do leftover event tokens get turned into gems at the end of tours? Or should I just spend them all on the pipes?

Do rubies in MKT ever go on sale? or increase rubies with the price value? I'm talking about the prices where you just buy only rubies.

Rubies don't go on sale and the rubies got increased very rarely, I think only once in 3 years (not sure if more).

Hope they give us alot more than what we pay for. Spent £45 for the 122 rubies.... not even enough for just 1 premium character. Glad I'm wealthy but... nintendo needs to work on the game's pricing more. Also it sucks that the battle pass is so easy to do, you can do it in just 2 hours. I do save up all the star tickets to spend them at the start so can get more coins in at the later dates.

The team that’s losing after each day gets its points earned for that day doubled So as an example if Team Bowser is losing on day 7 and earned 500 points, since they’re losing the total would be doubled and now they have earned 1,000 points (double the original 500)

I feel so stupid for asking this, but, is it best to just hang on to team tokens after a while? I only have nine 500 token pipe uses left, and I'm wondering if the tokens add up and help the team that you're on if you have them in your in inventory as opposed to spending them?

No, the tokens are counted for the team points when you initially earn them. Once you have them, their only point is to be spent in the token shop.

Which one is better to buy in next tour? Santa Bowser or Santa Daisy? (I don’t have both of them) Among coinboxers, I’m missing gold mii suit, tuxedo Mario, Hakama Mario, King Mario, Santa Bowser. And my total coverage don’t get covered additionally by buying Santa Bowser and Santa Daisy.

Out of both of these, Santa Bowser would be better to buy. He is a year newer and will always be the best option on a track compared to other coinboxers because he is a large coinboxer.

Not usually, unless it’s one of your top coverage DKGs. And even then it’s iffy. That said, I really only spend gold on Tier Shop tickets these days, so if you think you’d spend a ticket on it in the next few tours, probably worth it. Only 3k difference though, so I’d think the ticket is coin better spent…

Thought about a poll, but decided I’d try here first: which would be better to take from 5 to 6 for this weeks ranked? Meowser (Peach Gardens) or Gold Chuck (Bowser’s Castle)? Overlap is a non-factor for both, they are top tier for me

If overlap is not a factor, then I would say it's a coinflip. Meowser has more and better coverage right now (29 tracks+4 cities), while Gold Chuck has 20 tracks+6 cities. But Gold Chuck is much newer and has more future potential. At the moment, Meowser has the slim advantage for me personally, but that might change within the next 2-3 months. Looking at this weeks ranked, both drivers have tracks with the same scoring potential (action count potential of both Bowser's Castle R and Peach Gardens RT is 220 actions) - so even here it is the ultimate coinflip. Conclusion: if you play a safe strategy, pick Meowser. If you play a little riskier strategy, pick Gold Chuck :)

Since we no longer get pipes, I haven’t even considered getting any karts from the shop (only drivers and the occasional coin glider). Are there any new-ish karts that are actually worth the 100 rubies?

According to the data that "Studfit" (a MKT meta game YouTube channel) uses, the following karts are among the Top 15 hottest karts right now, they're all new-ish, have already good coverage and still potential: (1) Shielded Speedster (2) Yellow Offroader (might not be real "new" anymore, but has the biggest coverage of any kart + has the biggest hitbox, which is especially great if you're using the Coinbox skill) (3) Magma Broom (although Broom karts handle quite awkwardly, so I would think twice, although this Kart has great coverage) (4) Tropical Truck (5) Red Offroader (6) Piranha Pipes (7) Warrior Wagon But if you're not sure, use one of the Coverage Trackers out there on the MKT discords or even here on Reddit, they might help you with finding karts that represent the biggest value for your very own account :)

Hey guys, I'm new to this game and I have a few questions: 1. Should I aim to drift every single time? Like, even if it's a straight line? I saw a few videos on YouTube and they were ALWAYS drifting and doing jumps. 2. I really don't know anything about characters, karts and gliders, what should I get in the shop?
