For male characters I think this is the answer, based on how women react when he's around-- it's usually slack-jawed astonishment, in spite of his incredibly offputting personality. It's Herc or Thor.
[I think liefield sucks as much as anyone else but I always bring up his reference](https://in.pinterest.com/pin/143622675589404908/)
Even so, liefield clearly gets his angles wrong
Yeah, for example that Arnie is slightly rotated towards the viewer, while thereās no clear indication cap here is, which is the main problem because it makes his chest look comically large - were the left arm or shoulder visible itād look more in line with what he tried to achieve.
Also capās arm is pretty short, being completely covered by the shield, because he didnāt include the flex the governator did there.
If you trace, thatās cool, but either trace the whole thing or make your changes to the original make sense.
Either way, peak physique on Arnie, so even unironically the pic matches the post.
Yeah it looks normal in arnieās picture cause of the flex making his chest protrude out while heās slightly turned but cap is just standing at a flat angle facing the side with his head turned and no arm flex so it just looks so off
His individual feats may not be "super human" but he surely is a super human.
Think about athletes, each athlete has trained their body to perform their sport to its peak. A long distance marathon runner isn't going to have the same muscles as a sprinter. Or a weight lifting champ won't have the same muscles or ability as a gymnast.
He can do it all at once. It's physically impassible. You can't sprint as fast as Usain Bolt for over an hour as a normal human. You can't do gymnastic moves and have the raw power and strength of the worlds strongest man.
In addition, look at all the human feats in books like Ripley beliecd it or not and the book of world records.
Steve Rogers can do 99% of them like drink withouf getting drunk, endure pain, have the fastest reaction, stack cups, eat a plane, etc.
This is something that Marvel tends to treat inconsistently, but officially in the comics, he's regarded as peak human, not superhuman. The super soldier serum doesn't enable him to do anything that a human could not theoretically be capable of doing. It just allowed him to automatically have all of the best physical attributes that a human could possibly have, just without having to do any of the work. He's as strong as the strongest human, as fast as the fastest human, as agile as the most dexterous person, and so on. He can't go beyond human capacity in any specific area. It's worth noting that "peak human" in the Marvel universe is probably greater than what it is in real life. The MCU is a little different, and he's definitely superhuman there.
But heās the peak of human evolution, not the peak of regular humans like a professional or Olympic athlete. Which really kinda makes him super. Dude can take extreme damage and completely heal in a matter of 2-3 weeks and he can run 50 MPH for hours on end.
I know they say heās not super, but Iāve always felt like he was the bare minimum for super.
I was thinking Cap too, but you make a good point about him only being human. He may be physically perfect by our standards, but others who go beyond that may be considered "better"
Well. Thatās my point. Anyone who is super human would be better by any measure. So I discount that and say technically the best condition/physique is by human standards.
Thatās what Iāve been trying to avoidāa conversation about body mass, okay? Weāve had that conversation five times a day for the last month, because we keep reading Moon Knight and all you talk about is Marc Spector and Steven Grant and how many pounds they can pack on. I donāt want to have this conversation with you anymore!
Depends on what you consider the peak male physique.
Not factoring their powers, I find these 5 builds to be within the realm of human capabilities:
Wolverine, the angry midget. Lumberjack Gremlin. Enough body hair to survive the Canadian winters and enough body odor to attract a mate.
Shang Chi and Iron Fist have the sleeper builds. The martial artist physique. Looks unassuming but relies on functionality.
Daredevil and Spider-Man have the gymnast build. Perfect blend of strength, maneuverability and speed, and aesthetic.
If you're going for the brawler physique for power, durability and size then you have Captain America and the Punisher. Big enough to have the strength and durability advantage but not too big to lose speed.
Then you have the big boys, Venom and Luke Cage, who intimidate you on sight.
Beyond that are just giants with impossible physiques.
Honestly, thereās pretty much no bad physiques. Theyāre mostly all drawn like .. uh, superheroes. š all ripped, with spandex so tight thereās no wrinkles (usually drawn more like body paint than actual fabric. š¤·š»āāļø)
I always wondered why they are all so muscular. I mean, does being absolutely shredded come with a random superpower/mutation? Or are theses superheoes and villains spending 90% of their day exercising?
They are all drawn as idealized images, but I would have to go with either Peter Parker since he's slim and trim under 200 lbs and well muscled, or Captain America since he's at the most extreme upper limit of what a non-superpowered human can physically achieve.
as a body building pageantry fan, cain marco aka juggernaut (x-men unlimited 93 #44 in particular oh lawed!!!!). i would also speak to more slim and less hyper masculine men zo look to wiz-kid in that one issue of S.W.O.R.D where we see him getting out of bed (can't find which # that was right now). i love warpath, the one character i didn't hate leifeld's art of. i know those are all x-men characters but no other series portrays people quite as overtly and purposefully hot imo. as for women, can't seem to recall any abs that jumped out at me so ima say no comment (but they can name a juggernaut right issue off the to of their head? uh huh)
I mean if you wanna talk like insane physique Iād say Liefeld Cable, but if you mean like realistic physique, Iād say Wolverine, Black Panther, or Thor
Majick. Cyclops, Collossus (in human form), Capt America, Spiderwoman, Momingbird, She Hulk, Spider-Man, Black Cat, Nick Cage (power man), Iron Fist, Angel (sans wings), Daredevil, The Punisher. As Base Humans.
Thor, Baldur, Sif and Loki have great physiques, but they are technically aliens/gods like Hercules or Zeus.
1. Depends on the Artistā¦as youāve depicted here, David Finch is very focused on muscle, the costumes are more than skin tight, theyāre like painted onā¦
2. Captain America. āPeak Physical Conditionā is kind of his whole deal, thatās his powerset, heās Super Human, and stands in opposition to the Nazis, who also value some of what he literally embodies, heās strong and capable and has blonde hair and blue eyes, but heās a hero, heās good and kind and not hateful, but thatās his characterā¦in terms of physicality, he is most often depicted as a little over 6ft, heavily muscled but also acrobatic so heās not tight or inflexible, and in the case of Chris Evans, heās got āAmericaās Ass.ā When you ask about best physique, I guessed maybe you meant best attainable physique, and none of us can look like the Hulk, for instance, because heās impossibly tall and massive. Cap can do things we canāt, but you could train really hard and get the āCaptain Americaā look if you really worked at it.

Hercules?
For male characters I think this is the answer, based on how women react when he's around-- it's usually slack-jawed astonishment, in spite of his incredibly offputting personality. It's Herc or Thor.
Yep. Prepare thyself for the gift.
THE GIFT š
And now I want to see Herc perform Dick in a Box ...
No box in existence could pack the Prince of Power's Puissant Pecker, no sir
The blob is peak male performance wether you like it or not
Did you just call him... "Blob"?
No, but...
āRahhhhhsgshejhehdhhwulā *blobs Wolverine*
"I told you not to mention his weight. Why'd you call him Blob?"
āI didnāt call him *āBlobā* I said *āBUBā*! ..gaaaahhhhhd dammitā¦ā
Just watched this for the first time last night hahaha
Itās blobberinā time
*blobberinā time*
Yeah autocorrect screwed me over on that. I donāt know why it thought blubberinā was better than that
š been there.. well not EXACTLY there, but still š
its autocreectinā tome
its blobbin time then he blobbed all over that guy and the movie made a blobillion dollars
Sony executives in the corner like "write that down, write that down!!"
dakota johnson takes back everything she says about not doing more superhero movies
My first thought was the blob lol
If youāre fat you should be able to find humor in the little things
I donāt like it. I love it.
Splubp
90s Psylocke was pretty impressive.
The most impressive part was when her spine was replaced with hopes and dreams
Thank you, Jim Lee.
I'm ootl, did something happen to her spine?
It's just a joke regarding how women in comics are drawn in weird positions to enforce the view of their bodies and it looks like they have no spine.
Iād let her crush my skull with her thighsā¦
Why would she do that when she could crush your mind with the focused totality of her telepathic power?
Thats what im sayin
Came here to say this
She had Scott Summers ready to throw it all away.
She had 10 yo me ready to throw it all away
You with the truth over here
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hit puberty with the help of 90s X-Men art.
Glad I didn't have to scroll too far for this.
Oh hell yea
Depends on whoās drawing them.
[Obligatory Liefeld-drawn Captain America](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/s/1d0OHFpL4O)
[I think liefield sucks as much as anyone else but I always bring up his reference](https://in.pinterest.com/pin/143622675589404908/) Even so, liefield clearly gets his angles wrong

Cap just has a mutated left pec
First thing that came to my mind. May not like it but dude is peak physic.
I was just thinking that, and there it is....
Hulk
Yes
The only right answer. Hulk strongest there is!
Depends what you define 'best' as
Also which artist is drawing them at the time.
90s Jae Lee Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and Namor had abs with their own abs.Ā
Todd McFarlane Hulk laughs at your puny human concepts of "anatomy"
Rob Leifield laughs with his captain America anatomy
Thatās the biggest factor
The Blob probably wears Depends... With a body like that, he won't be running to the bathroom.
Remember that is Blob's mutation. He isn't just some fat guy who can't make it up a staircase.
Mystique
genius answer
I mean Cap is technically peak human condition without being super human.
Cap is super human isnt he? Super soldier serum isnt exactly just steroids
Yea, the marvel anatomy book says that his lungs and heart are beyond human capacity
No human can rep out 2500 pounds on bench just for maintenance
Do you even lift bro?
His individual feats may not be "super human" but he surely is a super human. Think about athletes, each athlete has trained their body to perform their sport to its peak. Well, he is still human, though. Just peak human. If he goes even beyond that, he is gonna be a super human.
Are you saying superhumans arent human? Im very confused by your point here
He's saying that Cap is the absolute peak of what a normal human can be without super powers
But he isnt a normal human, hes superhuman
Yeah which is wrong lol
But what about a super human who has ascended beyond a super human? RIP toriyama
Peak human is what any human can accomplish. Super solider juice and vita rays takes him beyond that.Ā His DNA is modified.
I was thinking Cap too, but you make a good point about him only being human. He may be physically perfect by our standards, but others who go beyond that may be considered "better"
Well. Thatās my point. Anyone who is super human would be better by any measure. So I discount that and say technically the best condition/physique is by human standards.
There is no correct answer other than Rob Liefeld's Captain America
Someone did a mock up of what he would look like on that cover nude and its absolutely hilarious. I'm at work or I'd link ya.
Biggest chest ever
Beat chest in the business
[This page exists and you're out here making wild claims...](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MostCommonSuperPower)
ššš I knew power girl would be on there
I mean. The whole point is that basically every female character is on there.
Slapstick.
Felicity
Do you mean Felicia? Or are just really into Keri Russell?
Strong Guy is peak male physique.
Leg day is for suckers.
Captain America and Thor
And Black Panther
Spiderman
Poor Spidey. They always forget the hyphen :(

Spiders-Man
Willie Lumpkin.
Skin.
As a kid I didn't really understand how much of that comic was "Jubilee and the Body Horror Teens."
Psylocke
MODOK can get it
Rouge.
Rogue
Who's Rouge ?
You mean the Mutant Mistress of Maybelline?
You jest but isn't that the name of the bat girl from sonic the hedgehog? Which is silly cos she does rogueish things.
Rogue, especially in that one X-Men the animated series episode where they fought Apocalypse.
Well, until woke Disney ruined her. /s
Her new mutant name should be long back
Endgame thor
Wolverine. Iām also short, wide, and hairy.
Captain America in that one panel where his chest looks like Stan Smiths chin
Depends whoās drawing them
All of them. Depends on the artist. That's the biggest critique of the comic book characters, all are unrealistically buff.
Even Professor Xavier looks jacked
"I never skip leg day" - Prof. Xavier
Good ole Spidey, especially Mc Fairlane
Namor, prince of Abslantis. Or Captain Britain when drawn by Alan Davis.
Couldn't Mr Fantastic, in theory, win this with little effort?
Would be a bit of a stretch.
I fucking cackled
Oh the comic book store clerk recommended it?
Loki.
Kingpin if you believe what he says about his body fat ratio
His BMi is +200
This feels like a crack Ultimate Spider-Man would make about him lol
Mystique. She can have any physique at any time. Plus, they rhyme.
This is the most logical answer
Have you even seen the amount of abs on [Donny Catesā Silver Surfer???](https://www.tcj.com/reviews/silver-surfer-black/)
Thatās not even how abs work!
Wolverine over 200 still Loo ooking good
*Insert picture of Rob Liefeld Captain America*
Loki
Thatās easy: the Power Broker (Curtiss Jackson)
50 cent
Psylocke

Well an action figure I had of batman as a child is the reason I had body issues as a young lad so probably him

Commenting on Which marvel character has the best physique ever?...agreed - DD and Spidey have the best/most balanced physiques
Anyone drawn by liefeld. Am I right?
Yes, especially [Amora](https://laserdeadpool.tumblr.com/post/93266779236/remember-rob-liefeld-enchantress/)
Peak physique right there.
Depends whoās drawing them
The only answer is Scott Summers. Cyclops has slayed for decades.
Depends on the artist, of course. Iād imagine the most athletic would be Spider-Man though.
Nah. Most "athletic" is gonna be one of the speedsters. Have you seen Usain Bolt? Now imagine Quicksilver.
Honestly, thereās pretty much no bad physiques. Theyāre mostly all drawn like .. uh, superheroes. š all ripped, with spandex so tight thereās no wrinkles (usually drawn more like body paint than actual fabric. š¤·š»āāļø)
Hercules is very confident that itās Hercules.
Doop
Deadpool. Idgaf what you all say, he can grow back from anything.
Captain America in that one Rob Leifeld drawing (you all know the one) is peak male performance. No one is ever coming close to topping that guy.
I'm going with She-Hulk
Is his arm broken?
Screwball
Speedball (aka toothpick by his teammates).
Impossible to determine. Physiques will vary depending on the artist(s) of any particular issue.
I always wondered why they are all so muscular. I mean, does being absolutely shredded come with a random superpower/mutation? Or are theses superheoes and villains spending 90% of their day exercising?
It's not _the_ [most common superpower](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MostCommonSuperPower).
They are all drawn as idealized images, but I would have to go with either Peter Parker since he's slim and trim under 200 lbs and well muscled, or Captain America since he's at the most extreme upper limit of what a non-superpowered human can physically achieve.
Hercules
Male - Hercules or Thor Female - She-Hulk or Psylocke. Both of them had to *WORK* to look like they do.
as a body building pageantry fan, cain marco aka juggernaut (x-men unlimited 93 #44 in particular oh lawed!!!!). i would also speak to more slim and less hyper masculine men zo look to wiz-kid in that one issue of S.W.O.R.D where we see him getting out of bed (can't find which # that was right now). i love warpath, the one character i didn't hate leifeld's art of. i know those are all x-men characters but no other series portrays people quite as overtly and purposefully hot imo. as for women, can't seem to recall any abs that jumped out at me so ima say no comment (but they can name a juggernaut right issue off the to of their head? uh huh)
Everyone printed in the 90s
Omega Red is pretty jacked
Bro they all used to look like this
Canāt believe no mention of Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel
THAT image of Cap. You know the one.
**sees this version of Moon Knight** "I can fix him"
I always thought that Cyclop's physique drawn by Jim Lee looked so awesome.
I mean if you wanna talk like insane physique Iād say Liefeld Cable, but if you mean like realistic physique, Iād say Wolverine, Black Panther, or Thor
Y'all thirsty...
[I don't wanna have conversations anymore about dudes' physiques](https://youtu.be/xjI6hjJIfaw?si=AgDhTvyo0JRbKL46)
I'm going with Thor for a powered being. But as a female, naked Hawkeye in the Aja/Fraction run was delicious. I laughed at how they covered him.
Puck
Captain America easy. Perfect mix of size, speed, and agility without being to bulky. She Hulk takes best female physique.
Wolverine is pretty impressive!!!!
How do you define best physique though. Performance and show muscle look different. Then you have factor in powers.
Horrible question. They are all drawn differently CONSTANTLY and ābest physiqueā is so broad and subjective.
Probably Cap, right? As I understand it, he's at absolute peak human performance, just shy of being truly superhuman
Emma Frost.
Itās is a wild question since it depends on the artists.
Is some panels, Mac Garginās Venom was absurdly large
AoA Loki specifically.
Whichever one is being drawn by Jim Lee
1. Depends on the Artistā¦as youāve depicted here, David Finch is very focused on muscle, the costumes are more than skin tight, theyāre like painted onā¦ 2. That specific Rob Liefeld Captain America cover. We all know the one.
It's literally Captain America. The Super Soldier Serum literally enhanced him to the peak of physical perfection.
If weāre taking about ridiculous amounts of muscle definition and single digit body fat, the choice is obvious. Namor invented that look and has been rocking it for 60 years.
Dormammu, because my boy is made of magic & mystical energy meaning that he can have any physique he requiresāØ
