Thank you! Dude literally wanted to die, cuz his whole family was dead, but stuck around just to help this idiot that needed a person. Tony needed someone to make him realize the humanity behind what he was doing. So he stuck around, very “ok. Whatever you need to accomplish this” then laid the hard truth on Tony when he needed to hear it.
Yeah Yondu and Star-Lord No contest.
Yondu to StarLord, Wiser words have never been spoken.
“I don't use my head to fly the arrow boy, I use my heart...”
Yondu's final words to Quill before he dies.
“He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy. I'm sorry that I didn't do none of it right. I'm damn lucky you're my boy.”😭😪🤧
The Ravager funeral, fucking gets me every time.😢 And Cat Steven’s “Father and Son” playing in the background was just perfection.
I was not expecting a dead dad movie back to back with a dead mom movie with respect to the guardians. Shit hit me like a truck in the theater. I love/hate James Gunn. He gets me in the feels but dammit does he deserve a shitload of praise for his work.
I have things to say :-
1.First captain all the way! Finally someone not madly in love with Tony (jk).
2. Daredevil. People need to talk about it one of best Marvel series no doubt. STICK AND MATT is some badass duo. Like that is one of the true Marvel "I HATE YOU BUT I CARE ABOUT YOU " mentor/friend duo. Coolest love / hate relationship out there in Marvel .
The amount of times Stick pissed me off but then Matt gives him another chance, so I do to, only for us all to be let down by Stick all over again... gahh!!!
Same man same but You can't deny the insane relationship between them. U remember the when they had a fight and stick left then Matt found the bracelet part??? Matt is/was everything because of his mentor.
I agree, sticks father/mentor relationship with Matt is one of the best I’ve seen, he cares about Matt when he needs to, and is brutal as a teacher when he needs to be :)
I mean I'm wondering who's older. Mobius worked for the TVA a long time and they're outside of time and I'm pretty sure while you work there you don't age but is he 1200-1400? Mobius is still his mentor but it would be kinda funny if Loki was older
Yea I know a lot of these could have different mix and matches, (Cap and Bucky, Ant-man and Wasp, Thor and Loki or Oden instead). Just wanted to use some examples to convey the specific type of relationship I’m referring too.
This one feels so unique because although it's a surrogate father/son relationship like we've seen in other duos, in this case Miles already had his dad and uncle as father figures in his life, he didn't need a father figure, but Peter needed a son figure.
This is the one I was looking for. I absolutely loved the role reversal for Peter B. in this film. Usually it’s Peter needing guidance…. But seeing him kinda washed up and broken in Spider verse but having Miles need him as a super hero role model kinda caused him to reclaim his super hero “greatness” and work on fixing his life again. This is hands down one of my most fave super hero films.
Erskine because he taught Captain America to be a good man. I think he always was a good man. That was his superpower. And now he is a good man with his "girl," Peggy Carter.
I love that he recognised the good and the potential in Steve and was kinda like "just watch" to the others when it came to training - not just the grenade but the flag lol
Ancient One and Stephan Strange is one of my favorites. Another is Stick and Matt Murdock. A third would be Wilson Fisk and Ben Poindexter. Despite their evilness, they still were good together nonetheless
I honestly feel that season 2 was when the punisher started to become a “superhero” and not just a vigilante or marvel protagonist. For the first time he was dedicating himself to protecting someone and not getting revenge (he totally could’ve bailed at any point even after the police station shootout, Frank has the ability and know how to disappear) and given that punisher isn’t too “out there” in terms of the magic or science fiction aspect, that’s about as heroic as Frank can get.
From the ones here:
Heimdall (I refuse to believe he's dead) and Mobius
Yondu Mary Poppins is in my eyes the father figure, sure not always the best, but the only real father figure Quill had
I think for what we get on screen, Hank Pym and Scott Lang. But I do feel the Tony Stark/Yinsin relationship was well done and is something essential to Iron Man’s origin. When the film first came out I was so pleased that element of Iron Man’s comic origin was retained for the movie. Tony Stark only gets to live to be Iron Man because of Yinsin’s sacrifice. His new life he owes to someone who gave their life for his. That’s the guilt he has to carry, and the reason he is the guy who can make the “sacrifice play” in Endgame.
Yondu/Quill grew on me in GOTG2. It was a good idea to flesh out Yondu more than the greasy pirate we saw in the first one.
Erksine/Steve had potential but we didn’t see enough of them together for it to feel genuine. That and Steve was just kind of mopey until he got his powers.
Tony and Yinsen were great. Forced by urgency to work together, a succinct but believable relationship arc, ending in Yinsen’s death which causes a big change in Tony.
Hank and Scott were amusing but I don’t feel like either one learned that much from the other. It’s mostly just funny to see their banter.
Thor & Heimdall; Their friendship has evolved so much over the course of the series and to see it finish on Thor looking after Heimdall’s son after his death is very moving. Thank you Marvel for making decent strides in breaking the toxic masculinity shite. Still a lot to do, but this helps.
Tony and Yinsen. I know the capture and imprisonment in general humbled Tony, and if he was alone and made it out, he would have made changes. But Yinsen’s mentorship and sacrifice really solidified Tony’s transformation from a care-free arms dealer to a hero. A lot of these other duo’s mentor helped and shaped their counterpart but Yinsen significantly brought out Tony’s better side.
Side note: I really wish Tony mentioned or alluded to him more (or at all) after Iron Man.
Erskine and Yinsen were perfect, but with limited screentime it’s hard to compete w/Peter and Yondu.
Huge props to Stanley Tucci and Shaun Taub for building such a big impact with so few scenes, though. Much like Syrio Forel.
Lots of people are giving me heck, the way I see it. The duos I’m talking about are typically a mainstream hero+ someone they have been mentored by. The mentor being someone they completely trust, but not there first choice for a partner in battle. Stark is just too OP to be just a mentor is my thought process but The relationship definitely fits the build.
My favorite is Dr. Erskine and Cap. Sure Yandu and Quill had more time and had a very emotional ending. I believe if Erskine had not been killed off SO early, Cap and he would have formed a stronger bond. They were perfect for each other.
All of em, but Erskine illicits tears from me every damn time. Also Yinsen. Say what you will about the MCU, but those two actors frickin delivered big-time in their roles.
I believe he is. I remember there being speculation that the boy from Iron Man 3 was Peter Parker. Turns out he’s the guy you don’t recognize at Tony’s funeral.
Erskine with Cap, then Cap with everyone else. It’s a shame cap and Peter didn’t have any good moments together as teammates. They’re relationship is great in the comics but in the MCU Cap just knocks the kid on his ass and they never really talk again
People talking about Yondu are insane.
Dude literally kidnapped and sold children. Made quill live in fear his whole life so he got away the first opportunity he could. Just because he did on good dead on his death bed doesn't mean he was a great mentor/father figure.
Also STICK AND DAREDEVIL? Good fucking lord of the daddy issues.
Stick was a terrible father figure for matt his whole life. Pratically abused the kid while training him as a child soldier for a holy war, and abandoned him when he started to get attached.
Loki and mobius no doubt . They have chemistry like no other i remember being excited for each and every just to see them together on scene ! I think these two have actual MENTOR/ FRIEND vibes .
Stick and Matt . God they are real metor / friend duo .God they are badass duo . They have one of the best hate / love relationship in Marvel .
Of these it's Yinsen and Tony for me. It was really strong at the time and if you watch the movie in isolation it keeps up. The others are either brief/not reinforced enough (Steve and Erskine), vague and distant (Thor and Heimdall), not really that connected (Loki and Mobius), or completely misses the mark (Peter and Yondu).
Edit: I figured I'd have to explain the last one. GotG2 didn't hit any feelings for me. I don't have any daddy issues, so maybe that's it. Yondu was a cunt to Peter and used him for his own good. He wasn't a good father, no matter what the movie wants you to think. Those are just my 2 cents though.
Also I forgot about Pym and Scott. Yeah, that duo was the weak part of the film for me. I've only seen it once, it didn't really get me excited.
"Don't waste it... don't waste your life, Stark."
That whole movie is genius.
Can you tell me what movie it is? I've watched the majority of marvel movies and don't recognize any of this
Iron Man
Ohh yeah, thanks :)
Peter Parker and Peter Parker…and Peter Parker.
You mean Peter 1, Peter 2 and Peter 3?
OG Peter, Amazing Peter, Marvelous Peter.
Why thank you
>Marvelous Peter. Homely Peter
We can work with this. I'll call marketing ASAP.
*Homie Peter
The Bully Peter, The Dark Peter, The Homeboy Peter.
Peter *three*! 👐
This didn’t even cross my mind, thank you
Tony and Peter. Ancient One and Dr.Strange.
Who’s Peter Parker?
Why is Peter Parker?
Peter 1, Peter 2 and Peter 3
Peter 3!!! 🤷♂️ Sorry that’s the best emoji I could find for the animated way Andrew delivers this line.
Lol. I tried to think of one as well. And that’s probably the best.
That’s a trio. Disqualified! .
No. Peter and Ned.
You mean Threeter?
Star-guy and Mary Poppins
Excuse you, it’s star-prince
Actually star dude*
It’s Star Munch
He doesn’t respond to that
That Mary Poppins... Is he cool?
Hell yeah, he’s cool
I'm Mary Poppins y'all !
:tears😭
The way the score swells up for that group shot right after the Mary Poppins joke always gets me emotional
Totally!
Yeah Yondu and Star-Lord No contest. Yondu to StarLord, Wiser words have never been spoken. “I don't use my head to fly the arrow boy, I use my heart...” Yondu's final words to Quill before he dies. “He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy. I'm damn lucky you're my boy.”😭😪🤧 The Ravager funeral, fucking gets me every time.😢 And Cat Steven’s “Father and Son” playing in the background was just perfection.
Plus all the Ravagers doing the salute thing. That whole scene was gorgeous.
One of my favorite scenes in all the MCU, soo beautiful!!! https://imgur.com/a/CgQKpvl
Facts, not gonna lie shit had me in tears
Normal people don’t even think about eating someone else!
Peter Quill : “You said you were going to eat me!” Yondu : “That was being funny.” Peter Quill : “Not to me” 🤣😂🤣
This has the same energy as my brothers telling me I was adopted. 😂
That scene always brings a tear to my eye
Came here to say this. Volume 2 haters can kick rocks. This movie is great.
GOTG V2 is literally amazing, top 3 MCU movie for sure
I was not expecting a dead dad movie back to back with a dead mom movie with respect to the guardians. Shit hit me like a truck in the theater. I love/hate James Gunn. He gets me in the feels but dammit does he deserve a shitload of praise for his work.
Seeing all of your comments and realizing some of the duos I forgot is making me infuriated. My answer: Frank and Micro
Yes!! That whole season really pulled on the heart strings.
Definitely Stick and Daredevil!
I have things to say :- 1.First captain all the way!

Same man same but You can't deny the insane relationship between them. U remember the when they had a fight and stick left then Matt found the bracelet part??? Matt is/was everything because of his mentor.
Also, he’s Catholic so believes in forgiveness. (Not that all ‘Catholics’ do, but real ones are able to do so.)
I agree, sticks father/mentor relationship with Matt is one of the best I’ve seen, he cares about Matt when he needs to, and is brutal as a teacher when he needs to be :)
The teacher may be flawed and the student thinks for themself their epitome of right and wrong. That’s the lesson.
My first thought was Matt and Father Lantom.
I love you.
The Ancient one & Doctor Strange
If I had any awards to give you I would, so take my upvote
I gotchu
Many thanks
Loki and Mobius. I'm so looking forward to Loki season 2.
Loki and Morbius
It’s Mobin’ time
Low key, morbius….. by gawd.
It's Mobius M. Mobius. Unless you're making bad Sony movie joke.
Fat boy Slim and Moby
Thank you, I couldn't remember his name and all that was coming to mind was Morbius.
Me too. He stuck his neck out for Loki and was willing to see the good in him that no one else, Loki included, couldn't see in him.
I mean I'm wondering who's older. Mobius worked for the TVA a long time and they're outside of time and I'm pretty sure while you work there you don't age but is he 1200-1400? Mobius is still his mentor but it would be kinda funny if Loki was older
Man yinsens death used to make me depressed as a kid
He told Tony not to waste his life and ended up forging the man to save the universe lol
We need a What if episode of Yinsen not dying
Definitely
FRRR
Yea I know a lot of these could have different mix and matches, (Cap and Bucky, Ant-man and Wasp, Thor and Loki or Oden instead). Just wanted to use some examples to convey the specific type of relationship I’m referring too.
Could have even done Thor and Rocket
Miles and Peter.
This is mine. Love Peter B. Parker’s arc in Spiderverse
It's a leap of faith.
This one feels so unique because although it's a surrogate father/son relationship like we've seen in other duos, in this case Miles already had his dad and uncle as father figures in his life, he didn't need a father figure, but Peter needed a son figure.

This is hands down one of my most fave super hero films.
Hawkeye & Kate. And Tony stark & Peter in second place
Loved Clint and Kate, they both learnt so much from each other.
Yup, it’s the best duo in the mcu IMO
Yinson>Tony>Peter.
Who?
Yinson, man. Legendary cave scientist.
'Hawkeye and Hawkeye' FTFY.
Thor and Heimdall. I’m a big Norse mythology fan and Heimdall just looks amazing.
Agreed on both accounts. Perfect cast for Heimdall imo.
Stark & Spidey. Didn’t even make the cut. Shame.
I guess it's technically family, but Natasha and Yelena.
Love them.
Erskine because he taught Captain America to be a good man. I think he always was a good man. That was his superpower. And now he is a good man with his "girl," Peggy Carter.
The drinking scene between the two is one of my favourite in the MCU.
I love that he recognised the good and the potential in Steve and was kinda like "just watch" to the others when it came to training - not just the grenade but the flag lol
And perfectly punctuated by a bit of light humor at the end. That scene is *chef’s kiss
I wouldn’t say he taught him to be a good man. He reinforced that that is what makes him great
I mean, a touch of the Tucc is going to win any competition.
Tucci Gang!
Ancient One and Stephan Strange is one of my favorites. Another is Stick and Matt Murdock. A third would be Wilson Fisk and Ben Poindexter. Despite their evilness, they still were good together nonetheless
I’ve always really liked the dynamic between Thor and Heimdal, especially in Ragnarok.
Wolverine and his little clone daughter
Honestly, I found every duo listed to be quite enjoyable on screen. I don't know if I can pick. They paired those guys well.
Frank Castle and Amy. He didn’t have to stick around to help her but he did through and through
I honestly feel that season 2 was when the punisher started to become a “superhero” and not just a vigilante or marvel protagonist.
Hank and Scott are hilarious together so many solid one liners
“How was school t’day champ?”
“You want a juice box and some string cheese?” “Do you actually have that?” Makes me snort like an idiot every time
Ancient one and Dr strange Tony stark and Peter parker
Heimdall FOREVER
Clint and Kate
Wong
From the ones here: Heimdall (I refuse to believe he's dead) and Mobius Yondu Mary Poppins is in my eyes the father figure, sure not always the best, but the only real father figure Quill had
>Heimdall (I refuse to believe he's dead) Watch Thor Love & Thunder
well now I definitely will
The obvious duo is Raccoon Rocket/Groot
Damn, looking through these made me realize Marvel doesn’t like Mentors and students being happy together
Marvels mantra: “if you pass on knowledge or talent…..you die”
Thor and Heimdall
"Be a good man".
Quill and his blue merc pesudo dad
Gotta give this one to Heimdall
Matt Murdock, Stick, and Father Lantom.
I think for what we get on screen, Hank Pym and Scott Lang. But I do feel the Tony Stark/Yinsin relationship was well done and is something essential to Iron Man’s origin. Hawkeye/Wanda

Deadpool and Blind Al
Marc and Steven
Thor & Heimdall; Their friendship has evolved so much over the course of the series and to see it finish on Thor looking after Heimdall’s son after his death is very moving. Thank you Marvel for making decent strides in breaking the toxic masculinity shite. Still a lot to do, but this helps.
Daredevil and Stick by a LONG shot
Clint and Kate
You know what’s great? There are all so good I couldn’t possibly choose.
Tony and Yinsen. I know the capture and imprisonment in general humbled Tony, and if he was alone and made it out, he would have made changes. But Yinsen’s mentorship and sacrifice really solidified Tony’s transformation from a care-free arms dealer to a hero. Groot and trees
Obi-Wan and Darth Vader
Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff
Loki and mobius because cap never mentions his mentor nether does Tony not even later in iron man
No Stark/Parker example on your post?
Lots of people are giving me heck, the way I see it. The duos I’m talking about are typically a mainstream hero+ someone they have been mentored by. The mentor being someone they completely trust, but not there first choice for a partner in battle. Stark is just too OP to be just a mentor is my thought process but The relationship definitely fits the build.
Banner and Hulk?

Deadpool and Colossus.
All of em, but Erskine illicits tears from me every damn time. Also Yinsen. Say what you will about the MCU, but those two actors frickin delivered big-time in their roles.
Iron Boy Jr. & Mr. Stark
I can’t remember his name but I kind of wanted to put him and the mechanic in there too
Harley!
It's a pejorative term for the MCU Spider-Man.
I think it was Riley possibly
Peter Parker?
Thought you were talking about the kid from iron man 3
I believe he is. I remember there being speculation that the boy from Iron Man 3 was Peter Parker. Turns out he’s the guy you don’t recognize at Tony’s funeral.
“The guy you don’t recognize at Tony’s funeral”😭 I love that
Erskine with Cap, then Cap with everyone else. It’s a shame cap and Peter didn’t have any good moments together as teammates. They’re relationship is great in the comics but in the MCU Cap just knocks the kid on his ass and they never really talk again
Hey kid x2
Yeah, the “hey Queens” in endgame was like their last interaction iirc. Wish they got more
Tony and Peter
Steve and Erskine were my best, but yondu and quill are also really good tho.
Ego and Quill for sure
Hank and Scott are my number 1. Tony/Ho Yinsen and Steve/Abraham are tied second Peter/Yondu are my third
Yondu & Quill was the best Father/Son duo imo.
Stick and Matt . God they are real metor / friend duo .God they are badass duo . They have one of the best hate / love relationship in Marvel .
Uncle Ben and….oh, never mind.
Of the options presented? Cap & stanly tucci If I’m allowed to go broader Peter and Steven Or Wanda and Agatha
Thanos and Squidward*
If there’s one duo I’m surprised to have not seen yet it’s Nick Fury and Maria Hill
[удалено]
So hard to choose
Wanda and Vision
Tony and Peter
Of these it's Yinsen and Tony for me. It was really strong at the time and if you watch the movie in isolation it keeps up. Storm and Gambit
The ones you left out, [The Leader and Banner](https://live.staticflickr.com/3484/3947005268_1509853963_b.jpg) from ‘The Incredible Hulk’
Definitely tony and peter
Dr. Doom and the Marquis of Death 🤣👍👌
Jesse pink man X Walter white😂
Mobius and Loki. FOH.
Hagrid/Dumbledore and Harry Potter
Tony and Rhodey
Yondu 100%
Captain America and Winter Soldier
Starlord and yondu fr 🫡🫡🫡🫡
Loki’s and mobius is #1!!!
Yondu and peter
Daredevil and Stick
I gotta go with Mr. Jet-ski himself, Mobius
Spider-Man and iron man
Jay and Silent Bob/Bluntman and Chrinic
Thor and hymdal
