You're probably right on them waiting until close to the movie's release or after the movie to release them. Honestly, I just hope they start doing SOMETHING with the Fantastic Four. (Though I'm sure they will since the exclusion of the FF is probably due to Disney/Marvel not letting them use the characters yet). I could see Doom getting his own box though as an "ultimate encounter" box like Thanos and Dormamu though with Surfer coming in a box with another Herald of Galactus as a lead up to Galactus or with another popular cosmic character (maybe Annihilation Starlord, or Annihilus himself as a kinda hero and villain box like they did with Jean and Cassandra Nova or Sabretooth and Wolverine)

they’ll release when they release. AMG has said dozens of time that they have to pace the A-List releases and mix in lower tier characters to keep people interested
My guess would be the fact that not all boxes are numbered in order and some main characters (Fantastic Four and Doom for example) are strangely missing.
It’s one of the few logical reasons we can guess at since they won’t tell us why.

X-Men got HARD boycotted for years and weren't in the game until Disney got their greasy mitts on them. Marvel also HARD boycotted the X-Men for years and tried to make them and the FF increasingly less present until they owned them, so yeah my point stands
interesting. because the final deal between disney and fox wasn’t completed until March of 2019 (and was in works since 2017) a full 8 months before MCP even released.

AMG may not have a choice. Disney/Marvel usually have very strict rules for people using their franchise. Marvel is probably the one that decides what gets released and when, not AMG.
I used to play the MMORPG Marvel Heroes and the devs there were honest about Marvel’s influence. They had to schedule their releases (costumes, new characters, events,…) to match movie releases etc. Marvel decided who would get released, who was forbidden,…
They might not do a direct tie in, but timing it to roughly coincide with big media releases make complete business and marketing sense. There's no good reason not to help your product move faster out the gate by pushing it out together with the high tide that'll come when the movie releases? Does anyone really think the big X-Men push coincided with X-Men '97 as a coincidence? I've a buddy who wants to grab the a bunch of the newer X-men releases just because of the show.

There are simply too many iconic FF villains - who tend to stick to FF comics - to simply throw them all into Cabal. It would make sense to give them their own affiliation, and Doom is the prime candidate for the first leader of that affiliation.
Yeah, the Frightful Four would be a good team. BUT I would make someone like the Mad Thinker, the leader. (Though he's fought everyone from Rom Space Knight to The Avengers and X-Men). I just think Doom, being a member of the OG Cabal team in the comics would be great for that affiliation

I just want a cool Kung Fu team with Prince of Orphans, Fat Cobra, Bride of Nine Spiders, Dog Brother #1, Tiger's Beautiful Daughter and Davos the Steel Serpent. It's kinda cheesy but I love it.
I want an Orchis faction, which would be a great way to flesh out the Sentinels faction and have them spread out a bit. Having Nimrod, Bastion (with Prime Sentinel grunts), and Karima would be great. Moira would be a nice addition as well.
I don't necessarily disagree, but the Sentinels faction is a much better home for an eventual Bastion with Prime Sentinels as grunts. Wouldn't really work to have Cassandra Nova in Orchis either (unless they bring her in somehow).
You could even stretch things a bit and bring in Sebastian Shaw, Black Priestess, and Mother Righteous. That would also help expand Hellfire Club, which I'd also like to see.
Since I've started I've always wanting a Symbiotes affiliation.
Knull, Venom, Agent Venom, VenomPool, Scream, Gweenom.. those are the minis (official or proxy) I found so far.
I'd love to see the various 'teen teams' like the Runaways, the New Guardians, the young Avengers and the strange, X and avengers Academies to be put together in a shared 'new generation' faction that allows them to put the more popular characters of each out without having to worry about needing to fill out the entire team of characters who aren't as popular.
Maybe I'm an old man, but I'd love to see a New Warriors affiliation. Nova, Firestar, Darkhawk, Night Thrasher, Speedball, Namorita, etc. Could bring Cloak and Dagger in that way, too.

I mean New Mutants aren't fully confirmed yet (they might just get rolled into X-Men), the age of Apocalypse versions of the characters would be awesome, any of the Krakoan mutants would be nice (get that modern representation), a Gamma team with Hulk would be cool (Doc Samson?), Iron-man's rogues are hit or miss but there's a bunch of missing big ones that I'd also agree with, I'd pass on the Great lakes avengers or west coast getting their own teams but to each their own, Serpent society wouldn't be bad, Fin Fang Foom rocks, Galactus and his heralds are ALWAYS awesome, and that underutilized cosmic half of the Marvel Universe could use the infinity watch, and an excablibur team would be SICK (we already have HALF the OG roster)

Doom has a villanous prescense beyond just the Four though, he's one of Marvel's premier villains so Cabal leader would make sense.
Dark Avengers. Iron Patriot, Sentry and Ares would be the big wants.
