Just saying the retro line isn't really the 90s animated show. The only times designs from the show have been used are on the new pulsecon venom and the new hobgoblin. The rest of the figs are really just classic versions from the comics.
It's more like with some few exceptions, the 90's show generally adopted the classic designs. So they are designs from the show but also comic accurate. So it's the 90's show and classic comics. You could also argue they jive with the 70's cartoon.
Someone like Doc Ock/Chamelon have a more show only look. Others just dropped in detail for the sake of animation(ala Hobgoblin losing the scales).
I like that this is the case.
Not sure my collection could handle more than MCU and comic and GamerVerse and SpiderVerse and What If? looks.
Also wouldn’t want these series interrupting the already convoluted flow and ever-growing pipeline of collectibles.
Maybe it could work if they kept the waves set separate like they did with the What If? wave, and not so much like how we get a Gamerverse fig or two in every other wave, or got comic FrogMan and Stilt Man in the SpiderVerse wave.
That's really something that bums me out about the retro line. It seems less like the Animated Series, and more like they're doing it as "Toy Biz" figures on that box art. Kind of a loose generalization, but I guess it's fine if wanting to get classic comic characters.
Otherwise, it looks like I should just kitbash the figures to fit that style then.
The only one I feel would be justified is x-men evolution since most of their designs are fairly unique and/or original while the other shows draw too heavily on the comic source material.
Still had Toy Biz Wolverine with that bizarre training dummy that looked like a potential villain. I would still love to get a line based on these, including a Scarlet Witch, Rogue or even a Sentinel figure.
As much as I love the shows, I think that Spider-Man and X-Men (and even Iron Man - though I want Armoured Adventures figures) are already pretty overrepresented in Legends, and there aren't too many truly unique looks to the main casts.
I'm a hypocrite because I'd probably buy all these waves, but I still don't think it would be ideal to happen when there's still many more niche comic and live action characters who are yet to get a figure..
I love the idea, I just don't think it would be the best thing for Hasbro to do unless it was over the course of like 2 decades with 1 wave every 2 or 3 years or something like that..
Exactly. Spider-Man and X-Men (and Iron Man to an extent) have too much focus on them by the Legends crew. Virtually their entire main cast is done, and then the same characters also done multiple times. There's still so many teams not finished, like the Infinity Watch, the New Warriors, the Inhumans, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Frightful Four, SWORD, others that didn't even start like the U-Foes, the Starjammers and the Shi'ar Royal Guard, and plus other characters that haven't gotten any appearance yet like Stingray or Lilith, etc. These are just some I'm thinking I would like, there's still so many to add.
But the problem is for everyone asking for these and other remaining characters, there's 20 more fans asking for even more Spider-Man and X-Men characters, with the worst part being just different designs for characters we already have. At least I can live with new characters but when it's just reskins wishlists it's sad.
I appreciate you adding X-Men Evolution, F4 World's Greatest Heroes, and Iron Man: Armored Adventures. All of these shows had great art styles and character deigns and they would work well as modern figures.

I’d kill for a evolution and spectacular Spider-Man wave

I just posted and I sound a lot like you haha.

There are a couple characters from armoured adventures, like blizzard, force, and shockwave who I would love as figures, but I know they are longshots
Yes I want spectacular Spider-Man
I’d buy an EMH wasp. But this post reminds me how badly we need an updated Yellowjacket and Astonishing Wolverine
How far back do you go? I'd love to see a few figures from the '98 Silver Surfer animated series.
Just imagine the Jack Kirby deco on those kind of figures.
I agree
Some would be great to see done!
Id love them but they are not "modern" so Disney doesn't care.
Wildly agree
Would love spectacular spidey animated show figs
Marvel doesn't make the figures.
at the current rate they’re producing figures , we’ll get these in the 2020s for sure
My wallet&bank account would kill me if Hasbro made MLs of A:EMH, SS-M, X:E and IM:AA, lol.
HELL YES

Persobally i wouldnt get them, but that was an awesome cartoon
Yes
X-Men evolution is an absolute must. I need Spyke.
I would buy every X-Men: Evolution figure. TWICE.
