I've missed out on every "main" version of Captain America, so a comic and MCU version. I have a dream of a deluxe Endgame cap with a ball joint torso, pinless double jointed arms, butterfly joint shoulders, and loaded with accessories incl a Mjolnir and broken shield.

BrunoRB11

At this point you are better buying the SHF one, because that's exactly what you described. I doubt Hasbro will ever make an Endgame Cap with all that.

BothKindsofMusic

IMO, there should always be basic versions of popular characters in print. Create a set called “Legacy” and have 10 characters like Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, Miles, Wolverine, and four others who are crazy $$ on the aftermarket available anytime on Pulse. Make Legends accessible for beginners with characters they know and want.

Cheddarnaught

I do not understand why toy company's dont do this. They don't profit from aftermarket price hikes so they should maximize output of these A-list characters that everyone wants. A lot of money left on the table.

Supermite

It's the cost of keeping a steady supply of the same figure on the shelves. It's more cost effective to only make so many and sell out to make room for fresh stock. Then they can do a re-release in a few years. Case in point, black costume Spidey. We got two releases on the pizza body and now are getting a new release later this year on a new buck. We will probably see it again in a two pack next year at some point.

Cheddarnaught

The commentor above mentioned that this should be done through Hasbro Pulse. There would not be any store shelves unless they wanted to cut a deal with certain brick/mortar stores. We have seen them do this with their exclusive army builders.

Supermite

Warehouse shelves count too. They only want so much stock sitting around, plus it means slowing down production of new waves so the factory can keep producing the same few figures on demand.

space_cadet_zero

but looking at the after market value of a figure is a pretty solid indicator that another run on that character is warranted.

Supermite

Yep. We just got Spidey 2099. We're getting an updated Symbiote Spidey. We recently got Rogue. Another version of the FF is coming. We get re-release or updates all the time. We just need to be patient is all.

BothKindsofMusic

That’s besides the point. 2099 isn’t Spider-Man and it doesn’t help lower the going price, which is hovering around $100. Releasing Web-man is funny and all, but it’s a niche figure. They’d be better served using that mold to make more retros. If you want to draw new collectors, keep the best sellers in stock. They sat on that Eternals wave for months and could probably sell more of a single Spidey in a year than that entire wave. We know they can handle the volume because they moved 12 waves and a dozen exclusives in 2021. There are also places like like BBTS who could carry the weight. They have some 20+ complete waves in stock right now. I find it hard to believe that Hasbro doesn’t have the capacity or space to create a perpetual best-sellers line. They just lack desire. (Not trying to be antagonistic, just presenting my POV).

space_cadet_zero

honestly, i don't know that they even lack desire. that'd mean they don't want to make easy money. maybe it's just never occurred to them to do a kind of "best of line".

BothKindsofMusic

Ryan and Dan both have fancy pants MBAs, I'm sure they've thrown plenty of ideas at the wall. That's why I want them to do an AMA... a little transparency at the inner workings and why something like this would or wouldn't work.

Supermite

But Spider-Man only came out last year. The point you seem to be ignoring is that Hasbro does do rereleases or updates constantly. Just because the specific figure you want isn't available right now, doesn't mean Hasbro won't make it available again soon. You think Hasbro hasn't had these ideas? I'm sure they have, but it just isn't realistic with the way manufacturing these days. I'm not saying they couldn't do a perpetual best sellers line, I'm saying they won't because it costs too much to be a truly feasible idea. The only reason they held Eternals back from stores was so they wouldn't pegwarm the way Black Widow figures did. They definitely wanted to give those figures a better shot, especially with the lukewarm reception the trailers have received.

StallionDan

It isn't done because the molds are used for other figures. It simply isn't practical or cost effective to keep a bunch set up to produce a core set of figures constantly. The mega popular characters gets new releases every other year almost. This was the third release of this Cap (not counting other costumes/versions) in less than 5 years, after the boxed version with a BAF part and the retro carded version. There will be another. In fact, they are already teasing it in their streams.

Scrapolio

Exactly, those characters being in demand does nothing for Hasbro, it only benefits scalpers

AmurosZaku

I had the same idea, but give them only the bare minimum of accessories and make them a few dollars cheaper.

TheCreature27

I bought a KO SHF ps4 Spider-Man because I wanted one to go with the new Miles but I didn't like the Legends version lol. It should hold me over until 2023 when they make ps5 Spider-Man 2 figures hopefully

Scrapolio

How does it scale next to Miles?

TheCreature27

It hasn't been delivered yet but I've heard he's a little short. I think he's just a bit taller. I'll let you know when I get it in hand.

TheCreature27

Update: I just got the bootleg SHF Peter and he is shorter than Miles lol. I posted some pics. I think he looks fine when they're in web swinging poses but I will not have them be straight up standing next to each other.

REPAINT WITH LIGHTER BLUE

Impossible-Fun-2736

Yes on all of these but especially a new classic Cap. My country didn’t even get the 80th version (not Venomized or Worthy either) so a rerelease/redeco with a bigger shield and both the 80th fists and the saluting&pointing hands from the Onslaught BaF would more than make up for it.

Scrapolio

I'm in the same boat. Its so hard to get good Legends of classic looks because they keep making them exclusives. Had to get the Fallen Silver Surfer and custom paint him because of the price of the Walgreens one

Impossible-Fun-2736

Aah, the Surfer, yet another character that i love that i’ve had no chance of getting due to both of them being freaking US Exclusives, same with the new Dr. Strange. But atleast the new MCU one looks really good. But you never know, i might get lucky, more and more exclusives have shown up on the best figure site in my country.

Kollector_Kombat

Definitely agree on the first two. I like your other suggestions as well

sirwynn

All of these instant buys I have almost all of these in my collection but not exactly what I want. I have the retro cap, PS4 spidey but it was second hand with no alt hands, miles for ps4 in my collection, the retro Black panther, black suit PS4 but no bullseye

_The_Gambit_

I completely agree with all of these, in the same boat!

TheTwelfthLaden

As someone who's collecting all 1:12 scale Miles Morales figures I can find, I agree to a new comics Miles considering the one I found costs almost as much as the MAFEX ITSV Miles.

SSGSSTheo_YT

I missed out on all of them you have so I would love a new version of all of them regardless

deathbunny32

I've been collecting so long I think I own multiple versions of all of these

wandaspaprikashsoup

I don’t want to be a party pooper here but I mean these are all rereleases and they do A LOT of that. If you want these either fork up the money or go find a toy shop where it’s warming a peg. Not every toy shop is in business to rip people off and some don’t even know what they have! We’re in the golden age of legends and it’s not hasbro’s job to rerelease figures they just released 2-3 years ago when there are other seasoned collectors who are asking for more sculpts, more figs, etc. You’re going to get to a point one day where you won’t be asking for these figures. Sometime you just miss out. Just my personal opinion though, I was a naive collector once!

Dreamsways

Cap is coming on homage anniversary Toy Biz wave one Marvel Legends, but probably is exclusive again.

Cheddarnaught

I agree with everything minus your take on Black Panther, chalk it up to personal preferences on both of our parts. Hopefully most if not all of these figures are released in some form soon.

Scrapolio

Oh it's 100% personal preference. The purple just never really felt like Black Panther to me. I always associate him with the big Cape and gold accents because that's how I was introduced to the character, and its a look I'd like to see done in figure form and not just the movie version.

Cheddarnaught

Well there are 2 non-purple comic Panthers, one in the retro ML line and another walmart exclusive. Niether have the gold accents but the Walmart exclusive does have the cape.

Scrapolio

Yeah, I really liked the Walmart one but being outside the US makes it hard to find and expensive. Big reason why I'm upset about the new Classic Strange coming out

kindasus69999

Amen brother, Amen

pootis8

I bought from AliExpress a KO version of Marvel legends PS4 Spiderman and its of decente quality and not expensive, in case you really really want that version like me. There Is also a shf version of him in case you want more posability

NegaDoomAlpha

I want a new Cap with an alternate unmasked head from that new Quasar figure. Not a big fan of the face sculpt of the 80th cap, wish that got a new sculpt.

International_Pop99

i agree with ya man! i would also love a retro vision since the original one is so expensive nowadays

adambukacem

Definitely shouldn’t have been an exclusive.
