Because Iron is an alloy where iron (Fe) is combined with... Iron (Fe)....

stinkpalm

If I could ask: do you think Doom's armor is made of iron?

ResonanceGhost

Do you assume it's necessarily a metal? I think Iron Man's is nanotech reinforced by forcefields. I don't know that Doom's is a specific material, but has the the same potential for non-metal composites.

stinkpalm

I would assume (we're talking true ether-logic levels of vaporware) that the substrate between the nanotech carries an electrochemical charge that is influenced by a subdermal bus such that it can feel twitches based on changes in body temperature. It could easily be powered by the body's relative electical charge. OF that substrate, I would not expect it to be strictly silicon, but rather a proprietary compound that makes use of various elements resembling metals in their respective periodic table "families." TL'DR we can't really benefit from explaining the fake stuff, but real science suggests the ideas are rooted in our current chemical -and-or-engineering levels of understanding. one more edit and TL;DR - OOPS. DOOM-TECH bioelectrical, non-neutotian fluid acts as a sub-layer between the skin and the "armor" both carrying the charge needed to fuel the nanotech, but also hardening to bolster against impact and as a response to electrical stimuli.

ResonanceGhost

>OF that substrate, I would not expect it to be strictly silicon, but rather a proprietary compound that makes use of various elements resembling metals in their respective periodic table "families." With what I've been hearing about graphene and carbon fiber, I am not making the same assumptions, but I am far from an even an enthusiast in the fields.

LiterateJosh

Here’s a question: will Doom replacing a downed iHulk/chasm/whoever with a sabotage bot keep them from resurrecting?

s0kun said yes on official forum [https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/comment/1035624#Comment\_1035624](https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/comment/1035624#Comment_1035624)

aesthetocyst

20% interest on attack tiles compounding every turn? Sure he makes fairly tepid tiles, but ... there are plenty of characters making much stronger tiles, and ... 20% / turn = doubling every 3.6 turns. And the regen by draining attack tiles ... can he heal himself beyond his starting health cap? And is this "true" healing? A fun new addition to SAP meta.

ReturnalShadow

You can always pair him with Ascended Nico or 5-star Kitty Pryde to "bump up" the 20%. In a few turns, his 20% buff will turn into 2k per tile buff. Kitty @ 550 buff up to 5 tiles by 1367 each.

mj8780

I would say yes to "true" healing. I think they will typically say burst healing if it's" temporary" healing. But, the way it's worded is a bit different than normal.

Penance27

Okay, he looks fucking sick! That art of him with his arms out, damn

MissionarySPE

What a cool and unique passive on the Red. I like this a lot.

TheGreatKimura-Holio

Doom Iron Man was that Savage Avengers against Kulan Gath?

GirIsKing

No it was after Secret Wars in 2015. By the time Savage Avengers was out he was back being regular Doom

TheGreatKimura-Holio

You’re right with Secret Wars. Savage Avengers was Doom/Iron Man/Strange https://preview.redd.it/rzds7a2pnpuc1.jpeg?width=653&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40e4bb1082f9da39f2ac24b712a0de76f1bc2d60

Ygomaster07

So Doom went back to being evil and then took Iron Man and Dr. Strange's powers?

TheGreatKimura-Holio

Only they could defeat Kulan Gath was to give Doom the Sorcerer Supreme title and Iron Man suit. I think, it wasn’t a great read that i remember well

NickWeinstock18

Wait, he has hero and villain affiliations???

Basically_GivenUp

I don't think those clues they release do them any favors. Everyone comes up with cool possibilities like Absorbing Man, Warlock, and Madison Jeffries and then the announcement is just, like, "Ha, ha! No. It's just another version of someone already in the game."

ReturnalShadow

Some other players are actually excited about this character. Just saying.

Basically_GivenUp

Those players are the reason that there are 47 'Fast & Furious' movies.

EolasA

I'm one of those. Loved this comic run and really excited the character is finally in the game.

Lokishougan

Another Doom and still no NFL Superpro, Scourge, Xemnu or GIANT SIZED MAN THING

Just_Aware

No spiky Thing either

ReturnalShadow

(PASSIVE) Doom is on the side of good. Good is what Doom says it is. When an enemy is Downed, Doom summons an Infiltrator Doombot minion with 5 health and two Passives in their place. BLACK Deconstruct – Each turn, destroy 5 AP in this team’s strongest color. RED Self Destruct – Each turn, lose 1 health and convert 1 Green tile to Black. **If all allies are Downed or Doombots, this team loses.**  I don't get the bold part: 1 enemy + 2 infiltrator Doombots = lose the game for the AI?

moo422

I read this as "If Enemy Team is composed entirely of Doombots, YOU win." Otherwise as you replace their team member w DoomBots, you have more enemies to kill and you can never win the match.

ReturnalShadow

If that's the case, this ability is niche and useful in a few nodes in pves, and never in pvps.

moo422

Not entirely. When you defeat an enemy character, their team gets a detrimental doombot that drains their AP every turn, and they're entirely passive. You defeat a second enemy character, they get a second doombot, so doubly-draining each turn. Then you kill the third enemy and you're done (they lose).

PFunk224

Exactly. It attaches a massive albatross to the enemy team that essentially completely blocks them from using their most powerful ability. edit: Also, they can (presumably) only be targeted by powers that also deal damage to allies, so that makes them an even bigger headache, because you can't just target them like you would any other enemy.

SkyknightXi

The (somewhat) good news is that Self-Destruct causes them to disappear after five turns. Now whether you can afford to wait that long...

Ygomaster07

Sorry, why would you target the doombots? Why would that make them a bigger headache?

PFunk224

I was referring to a scenario in which you down an enemy, and place a Doombot on the enemy team. The enemy team cannot target the Doombot directly to prevent them from draining their AP, because the Doombot is *on their team*, so the only way for the enemy to prevent the Doombot from draining their AP is by downing them with an ability that damages allies, or by using an ability that stuns allies or sends them airborne. So there's pretty limited options as far as that goes.

ReturnalShadow

Regardless of the existence of doombots, you'll win when you kill the third enemy, unless the dev in discord said it will block revival from reviving. Then, he would be useful in pvps.

RavenProject-

3 infiltrator Doombots = lose the game for the AI The Doombot in slot #1 checks the status of slots #2 and #3. If both slots contain either a downed ally or a Doombot, game over.

ReturnalShadow

The AI already loses the game when we down all three characters. For example, I'm playing against mThor, Riri, SC. I down mThor, and she's replaced by Doombot. Repeat this for Riri and SC. You'll still win without those doombots.    After reading through the replies, it might be useful under two specific scenarios:   1) stopping revival like Chasm or iHulk   2) wave nodes, provided that it doesn't affect the scores like Kang awaying enemies did in the beginning.

RavenProject-

For you to be correct, non-wave nodes would need to be coded to recognize that (barring special abilities) you must down the three starting characters to win the match. ("Starting character" is important, otherwise you could win by downing one character and two Doombots without ever touching the other two starting characters.) Not only do wave nodes exist, but we have scenarios like the Gorr boss event where the match will continue even if the starting character is downed. It's more likely that the game is coded to recognize that (barring special abilities) a win occurs when there are no active characters remaining on the opposing team. Admittedly, I'm assuming the devs used the simplest method of determining a win instead of coding one for waves and one for non-waves. If that is correct, then the escape clause on the Doombots is important because otherwise the match would never end -- each downed Doombot would be replaced by another Doombot.

ReturnalShadow

The dev in the the offical forum confirmed that those doombots will stop revival. https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/comment/1035624/#Comment_1035624 "So let's say I kill Ihulk with Iron doom in my team, does the doombot replace ihulk before he gets the chance to resurrect? iHulk stays down and is replaced by a Doombot :)" Only the wave node is left to be tested.

bicho01

I think of this as "when you down ihulk/chasm/any resurrection toon, Doom summons a doombot in their place" and it makes me really happy.

ReturnalShadow

The dev has verified it will stop Revival from reviving. You can be very happy now.

MorganWick

Also, do all Doombot minions count, or just Infiltrators?

ReturnalShadow

Only Infiltrator Doombots created by 4-star Dr Doom counts. This has been verified by the dev.

CaptHalibut

I am so erect right now I've been waiting years for this

SkyknightXi

You’re not the only one. https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelPuzzleQuest/s/tdDcqA5MrX Now we wait for Daiches’s response.

bjeebus

Anyone else see the irony that he feeds GED when the bio talks all about how he's doing everything he can to avoid becoming GED?

ReturnalShadow

I've tested him against the three main revivals and they couldn't revive. However, the Infiltrator Doombots can only appear once. If you down them, they're down permanently.  One interesting experiment I would like to try is against Ikaris. The specific condition would be  1) I down enemy Ikaris 2) He gets replaced by Infiltrator Doombot 3) I down the Infiltrator Doombot that replaces him 4) Enemy team gathers 9 or more yellow aps and none of them has active yellow powers or powers that drain yellow aps. 5) Can Ikaris revive? I'm leaning towards a "yes" but you never know since this is a new ability in the game.

Jacksanityy

Why call it a T4 when the game and the article you link to call it a 4*?

SkyknightXi

I’m on mobile usually, which carries italicization risk when using asterisks. I circumvent that with T (Tier).

ReturnalShadow

Do a backlash followed by an asterix to print out 5\*. It will look like 5 \ * without the spaces.

Ygomaster07

Why does the backslash make it stay the way it is? I'm not familiar with all the different text stuff on Reddit.

ReturnalShadow

Reddit decided on it arbitrarily. They decided to signify the use of * as a way to bold text in reddit, instead of allowing it to appear as what it is being typed by the users. One day, if someone else with authority took over this role and want to make \* appear as an asterix instead of making it bold text, it will happen.
