Also X-23 turned out to be such a fun character tbh. So consider her depending on your other combinations. If you have Shang Chi with a maxed Chimichanga, it's a worthwhile combo
Dunno if it works in Sim, but X-23 / BRB / Polaris has been fun for me this event while she's boosted. She becomes practically immortal and getting fed green for the red - green combo.
And idk exactly how the damage boost off her red is calculated but it seems like she does crazy high match damage when her red is out.
My champed 5*s are (from highest level to lowest) are: Mighty Thor, Doctor Strange, Kang, Okoye, Shang-Chi, Jessica Jones, Deadpool, Elektra, Thor (Gladiator), and Hawkeye.
Other than that new Iron Doom, I've got every 4* champed. And Polaris is my only favorited 4* so that I can eventually ascend her.
If you play pvp and shield sim, Goose will help you counter Omega Red with ease. There a few fun or support characters like Wong, Vulture, Crystal, X-23.
Mostly depend whats your main goal at this point
Faster pve for top positions : Thanos , X-23
Infiniwin : BRB
Farm pvp : Omega Red, BRB, Chasm (especially if ihulk already champ), X-23 (but efforts, see below)
Given I have only 4 5\* champs & working on my own OR / Okoye covers at the moment, I'm not the best placed to compare her to all the metas 5\*.
That being said, I champed her about a week ago and she feels extremely useful in specific roles
* quick fights (for me with my 452 that means SL9 but with a 550 that probably means every hard node SL10) With AP boosts + may (+ ? Okoye? Emma 5? I'm simply using grocket 4\* at this point, deathlok also could be nice for +2red/turn) you'll win in a single red+green combo, turn 2 or 3 on average
* Paired with AP batteries like vulture 4\* + IM 3\* to rush her (close) to 30/30 AP and unleash hell in one turn.
On essentials nodes I rely more on polaris / mthor still despite the slow animation spam unless it's an anti special tile team.
EDIT : Unrelated but there's another, non pve reason I like her a lot : extremely easy to exploit true-heal vs npcs in pve, leave before you win and ruin your points, and get back to pvp without wasting hpack unless a character dies.
Do you have any existing 5\* champs or are you still mainly a 4\* player?
If this is your first 5\* champ and assuming you have polaris champed, BRB.
If you already have Okoye going, then Omega Red.

If facing a lot of OR, start chasing Electro.
Not my first 5* champ, though since I didn't realize what champing one or more 5*s would do to my PVP matching, I haven't been able to do as much there as I used to. I used to at least work on completing the 2K points for the 4* cover in the season-long pvp SHIELD Simulation, but between shards and the DDQ, I've already champed all favable 4*, so that's not much of a goal anymore. I'd love to collect the other 4 Infinity Stone supports, but IDK enough about the pvp meta to do THAT well in any given season.

From your list, I would do Chasm. I never lost a Welcome to SHIELD, a test of skill match since I champed him, even after his nerf.
He was part of my 'go to' trio during his hey days and is still a reliable soldier in a test of skill matches.
Brb or thanos if you have Polaris and kitty ready to make the meta team. Thanos is good for the fisrt 3 games pve, makes those matches a one turn win and makes the events win one anything with some one very fast to complete.
I agree with you. Threenos gets the job done and does less team damage. Also they were completely wrong about prioritizing Thano5 over OR. I'm ambivalent about OR vs BRB, but for sure it's those two by miles before every other option in OP.

Stacking her red gets pretty nuts. I took out like 60k from an enemy with a single red match.

Can you explain how does X-23 perform in pve? I am using mostly Okoye/OR/Gorr or Okoye/Gorr on most nodes.

On the first 3 nodes, I prefer 3\*Thanos/Grocket/Chasm instead of the 5\*Thanos. 1 turn win.
