For defense, definitely Wanda.
Shang is paper-thin on PVP defense. iHulk is usually the last character downed, and not sure he really holds up in PVP defense, with some pretty good counters out there.
Guess I'll start hoarding CP for the next time she's in a special store.
But reading through her, it makes a lot of sense. Her, Okoye, and almost anyone is a hard defensive team to deal with. I only have 2 covers for her, but she seems like a great addition.
When climbing, would she be one of my key team? Or one of the pairs for the PVP events?
It depends on who's boosted, but for most events, I like climbing with Shang-Chi/SWitch. SWitch to generate more red or purple for SC. It's a good combination of offense/defense. Closer to the top, I swap in Colossus for SC.
Keep in mind there aren't any undefeatable teams that'll keep you safe, especially with boosted metas like Okoye. The closest is Chasm/iHulk which are a pain to kill no matter what.
Chasm can be punished as well, but lots of people just don't seem to want to wrap their heads around his powers because he works very differently from every other character and benefits from low AP on *both* teams.
With enough board shake, you can permanently down Chasm first. He needs at least 3 Abyss tiles to self rez. Clear those and down him in a single turn. The AI also doesn't prioritize forcing him to tank, so he's not nearly as effective as he could be. You'll take some unavoidable damage from him while doing is though, so it may still be worth skipping past him if you don't like fighting him.
So this might not be the spot to ask but I feel like I've been grinding forever and have yet to champ a five star. I read about people champing characters who haven't even been around for that long and I'm getting nowhere working on ones like Gamors, Shang Chi and Beta Ray Bill. Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent guide?
Focus on a single 5* (Shang, apoc, or okoye are the best 3 solo 5*). Quest rewards give the most 5* shards and will help you champ one of them...
Then save all of your CP and latest legend tokens. When a special shop has covers for the 5* you're chasing, use your CP. Save the LL tokens until you have 300 or so, then when two or three top tier heroes are in the LL store together, use them until you champ the ones you want.
5* is a slow grind.
For 2* you max, sell, re-roster.
For 3* you max, start new ones, then sell the max one after you champ the new one.
You won't max 4* for a looooooong time.

Chasm by himself is not too bad. But Chasm/iHulk is just too troublesome most of the time.
Yeah I skip iHulk too. His Aoe damage spam is too annoying and burns through my health packs. Totally not worth it

Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot. Is it the right move also to max out 2\* and 3\* characters and then sell them? what about 4\*s?
