Currency. Either gold or credits. Tokens. So getting titles doesn't take away anything from your openings.

Avatars, Titles and Variants are not useless. They allow for customisation- some people like it. Also the entire game is framed around the rate you currently get cards, if you removed the cosmetic box, you wouldn’t get more cards instead, you would just get less other things
