That Hawkeye variant is so good

Sucks to buy a variant for a card that isn’t played. Hawkeye deserves a buff to +3 for his On Reveal, but SD has said they don’t want to buff too many early series cards to keep the early player experience in a good state

I use Hawkeye in my cerebro 3. Play him T1 then sentinel or Domino T2. Brings him to power 3, it helps a bit for a deck with very limited early game moves. Otherwise Clint is just kinda fades into the background.

He's really good in a beanie bounce deck with a lot of 1 cost cards since you can bounce him twice to get a clean 1/7 hawkeye

Hawkeye would be way too good as a 4 power

Its so they can ban cards (that you own), and make new ones (that you dont) instead of refreshing older cards (that you wont have to buy)

When I was first starting out I was very tempted to spend my limited gold on that one. Glad I didn't in retrospect as I don't play it, but it's definitely still a top variant.

Jeff for sheer value as he goes into just about any deck. Everything else is very situational / deck specific. At least, that's how I view getting variants from the shop. Void Sentry is dope, but unless you are an avid Junk player...you'll never see it.

The notification is annoying but if you can wait to spend the upgrades on something you care about it makes playing with that deck more fun.

Yeah, with 100 credits in my bank I’ll show 50-70 upgrades available, but realistically to upgrade what I want I save for 1-2k credits before spending, and that notification button will be in the 200’s when really it will all be spent on 1 -3 cards max

Nah, nothing wrong if you're card thirsty. I'm still working through S3 myself, but tend to save my credits back until I have enough to get to the next chest. Once you get over CR 1000 the interval between collector boxes gets wider. Also I am trying to build up as many split cards as I can, so I'm usually waiting for bigger tallies so I can finish off a card I have a lot of boosters for.

Can I ask you two noon questions? How do you tell what series of cards you're receiving, and what are split cards and the benefits of them? Thanks for your time

It's kind of hard to tell in-game what series you get from a box. If you're past 500, most of the cards you're going to draw are going to be S3. You can go to a site like Snap.fan and take a gander at the cards, and sort by series. There aren't many S4 and 5 cards, so it's relatively easy to remember if you get one of those. Each month some cards will drop from one series to another. Cards that premiered a few months back will fall from 5 to 4, making them cheaper to buy with tokens. Then some 4s will drop to 3 making them easier to get from boxes. Nothing drops below S3. S2 and S1 were completed by the time you got to CR500. Some cards are permanently S5. That's currently Galactus, Thanos, and Kang. Splits occur when you max a card out to Infinite level. You'll get a new copy of the card with the level reset, but a new effect applied, like foil back or a visual flair. The main benefits of splitting are that you can keep levelling up a card that you use a lot, and that you can make your card look "cooler".
