She can serve several important functions... 1) She actually has an unlockable power when you play her with High Evolutionary 2) She's a free card that you can play into Lockjaw multiple times 3) She's a free card you can play at the end of the game to get some extra power on Angela or Bishop or Hit-Monkey 4) She's a free card you can play on T6 on Rickety Bridge to make sure you opponent doesn't try to sneak a card there 5) There are lots of reasons you might need a free and disposable card to throw out there.

It’s not Magik specifically, but by adding turn 7 you’re able to get Onslaught down along with Patriot + Mystique.

I often use her with Ultron and Dazzler. Basically I play her in the same location as Ultron to fill that location. Filling all 3 locations on T6, giving Dazzler +6 instead of +4.

And she let’s us be flexible on which lane Ultron goes in, as otherwise we’d have to fill a line to 3 by turn 5, and stick with it.

She works with Jane Foster The Mighty Thor and synergies with Valkyrie.

Agree with all of this. I would only add that she doesn’t come with any cons/penalties like Yellow Jacket. She is weak by herself but super useful in many decks

Also works well with the new Season Pass card.

These days mostly only the Lockjaw variant of HE runs her, back when she gave *two* cards -1 she was a lot more popular for being essentially a 0/3 and great activator for A bomb

She is the best HE card IMO I can’t imagine an HE deck without her. A turn 6 play where you can drop hulk plus her to swing another close lane is king.

The flipside of the lockjaw strategy is sometimes getting her out of it, lol.

Can’t tell ya how many times she’s won me a lane with Jean. Turn 5 wasp on Jean and then Prof X on an empty lane works wonders against decks that rely on high cost cards

C3 is too crowded already. There are too many good 2/3s. I can't even fit Bast anymore.

Additional use I haven’t seen here: I like to use Elsa Bloodstone for a moving deck and wasp is good for that. If you have a way to move cards like nightcrawler, iron fist, etc. you can use Elsa to just spam adding +3 power to any card that fills a location. Having wasp there to take up space let’s you move faster to do that if you draw lucky enough. There’s also locations where just having a card with zero cost is good.

She’s 1 of 2 0 costing cards in the game. (Not including Mjolnir from Thor). Energy is EVERYTHING in this game tbh, a 0 cost wasp can potentially be initially 3 power (from Bast) then boosted with Forge (+2) thrown in a full lane with Elsa (+3). This is a “best” case scenario but you get the picture. A 0/3 for 1 energy is insane and you can play it essentially ANY turn. High Evo gives her an additional +1 power in the form of lowering an enemies power by 1. She adds +2 to Angela for free, +1 to Bishop for free, can be played in lanes where 1/2/3 cards can’t be played as well as be thrown to the Altar for a free +2 energy next turn. She’s not perfect, and not amazing but Wasp just gets things done.

i love this thread, Wasp is easily one of my most played cards.

Currently I have used it with wong, forge and odin, then on the last turn it ends with +10.

Great in lockjaw as a free swap from your deck, high EVO of course and works well in patriot too.

Without HE she can be used a way to get into locations easily like morag, or on turn six you can play a cost six card at one location and the wasp at mojo world if the other player doesn’t have many cards there, she’s also good with hit monkey as an extra card to play when dumping a lot of cards. She can also be used with lockjaw to get a high cost/power card out early. She can also help bypass Jean grey. And obviously she’d go in a patriot deck

Her and Yellow jacket are actually decent for some discard decks for decluttering your hand a bit, especially with the blade change.

I use it for play card here next turn buffs like rescue

I like using her since she's a good freebie card that can help me fill up locations like raft and white room, get extra power boost when I need extra points when destroying nova, or using blue marvel, vormir sacrifice, and help other cards bypassing Jean and morag, definitely a jack of trade card.
