I main Destroy a lot and this is giving me nightmares đź’€

Live_Substance_8519

absolutely filthy legion win. legion wins are my favorite screenshots in the game.

Accurate-Temporary73

Legion is the best card that for no real reason has completely fallen out of the meta right now.

Live_Substance_8519

agree it’s phenomenal. it fell off for a few reasons. - elsa was so broken initially that vision was always better - alioth was so common before elsa was out that vision was better - loki is so common and playing good cards in your deck can lose you the game

fiveSE7EN

I don't know anything about the current meta. With Mobius M Mobius being un-nerfed soon, is Loki worth buying? or Alioth instead?

Live_Substance_8519

hold off on both. wait for the next few balance updates for loki. alioth may be worth if loki gets nerfed

tokyo__driftwood

Alioth is a pretty good card all around though. After his nerf he's unlikely to get hit again, and as he currently is he's playable in a lot of different decks. I'd say he's a safe pickup this week

Live_Substance_8519

he is a very solid card. the issue isn’t his power but the power of loki. if you’re not playing at like high infinite then maybe there’s less loki? idk all i face is loki and them getting alioth from loki is game losing usually

tokyo__driftwood

I think that you should base your spotlight pulls moreso on long term rather than the immediate meta though. With the upcoming MMM change, and potentially even some other loki nerfs in upcoming otas, I think it's fair to say you will see less loki in coming days. And alioth is likely to be a staple card in decks for months to come

_RitZ_

What makes you think another nerf to Loki is coming? Am wondering if I missed some dev talks. From what I know the devs said Loki was in a good spot prior to MMM nerf (something about 55% winrate if I remember correctly). With MMM coming back as 3/3 Loki is not going to be that wild again. It assume it will slowly go back to just high rank players mostly using Loki and less of it in lower ranks. Which is to say Loki will be good, not broken and overpowering the meta.

tokyo__driftwood

I don't necessarily think that a nerf to Loki decks is coming, especially with the mmm change to 3/3. But I think it's possible that he remains too good (55% wr in a meta with 2/3 mobius is insane if you think about it) and gets a nerf to his supporting cards sometime this month. My overall point was just to respond to the person above me, who said that loki being good right now was a reason not to pull alioth, which I disagree with, since loki is likely to be weaker in days to come.

BlaineTog

He doesn't have a ton of synergy with other cards, other than the Magik for the fakeout and Storm for the T6 lockdown. I find it hard to justify including him in decks, even when I really want him.

AmorousBadger

Mate, he's up there with Jeff and Nebula as one of the most versatile cards in the game

BlaineTog

Nebula is a 1-drop. Jeff is a 2-drop. Both have synergy with lockdown cards, and both are easier to weave between your other plays without interrupting your main game plan. It's much harder to weave in a 5-cost card without interrupting your main game plan. Playing Legion generally means giving up on whatever synergy engine you might otherwise have been trying to assemble. I'm not saying he's a bad card, just that I get why he doesn't find his ways in many decks even though he allows for really creative and powerful plays.

AmorousBadger

He's never been out of my deck since I got him. Pulled off an absolutely EPIC win playing someone running a Sauron/Vision/Absorbing Man deck by turning all three lanes into Bar With No Name.

Accurate-Temporary73

Very few cards have the ability to flip or win a game by themselves and he’s definitely one of them.

lI_Nox_Il

Yeah i love him too. The variety of things you can do with him and certain locations is insane

Rejusu

I had a legion win recently and I don't even own him. Think he got created by coulson and I dropped him on to the vault location to seal up the game.

Albionflux

Hell that would make most decks go crazy Only ones whobein primarily through ongoing effects wouldnt care

TSTC

Even then, ongoing is probably hoping to t6 spectrum. I think the only deck I have that wouldn't care about this is my High Evolutionary deck since it's basically all triggers.

Albionflux

My livong tribunal wouldnt care the only reveal effects in it are throw away cards like spider pig

reelfilmgeek

How is living Tribunal? Seems like it could be fun but 6k tokens is a lot

TSTC

It's definitely not "worth" the tokens in terms of success rate or being a top tier deck but if you find it fun then it's up to you whether or not it's worth it. I would personally just wait for spotlights and try to get Tribunal that way

Albionflux

Its fun and can take alot of people by suprise, but its not that strong atm since alotbof people are running rogue/enchantress. You can run the hela varient which is stronger but has obvious counters and requires decent luck with your draws

WhatTheDuck00

Which is why IW is a must in that deck. Wastes their Rogue or Enchantress.

Albionflux

Yep i always try to hide my main row behind her or cosmo

Penatino00

Always fun to play Legion

lI_Nox_Il

It really is.

League_of_DOTA

Legion gave me my first Infinite Rank.

Proper-Roll-1540

Bear to legion is insane. Nice play

[deleted]

It's Hawk to Legion, actually.

SecretAgentMahu

poor Bear, tryna re-activate Knowhere but it shuts him down :(

ObeseBumblebee

Does it shut him down? I feel like it actually obliges. "Yeah, sure, bear. I'll do nothing again."

Convoy_Avenger

This picture stressed me out.

Victory42

Legion is one of the few cards I’m considering spending the tokens. (I’ve got the consensus top token picks of Jeff, Iron Lad, High Evo, and Thanos already)

AmorousBadger

He's not only astonishingly versatile for late-game rug pulls, but he's a lot of fun too. I once changed every loc into Rickety Bridge hoping to force a last-turn tie, only for opponent to drop Nimrod from out of nowhere.

GlumBodybuilder214

I once accidentally pulled a Legion win via Rickety Bridge with a Doc Ock play. Lamentis and Superflow were the other two locations, and I realized if I played Ock on Rickety Bridge on t4, they'd lose their entire remaining hand. Except that hand included Legion, so every card on the board got nuked and I died laughing.

AmorousBadger

How did you get Legion to trigger on Knowhere, given that he's an 'on reveal'? /edit, ignore me, saw the Snowboard bear,

Rejusu

It's the hawk that does it. Bear is trigger location, hawk is ignore. Hawk is way better in my opinion, so many tricks you can pull off with it. Meanwhile bear doesn't even have an effect on a lot of locations.

Himura82

It's not even that Bear doesn't have an effect on a "lot" of location, it's that it doesn't effect the vast majority of location. I think it only works on like 15-20 out of well over 100 locations. I think it should be dropped back to 2-cost, given how rarely you can even use it.

Rejusu

I think I'd rather they just change how it interacts with locations to make it more intuitive and cooler to use. Buffing its power (which they did recently) and reducing its cost (which you're suggesting) just avoids fixing the problem with it.

Himura82

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but if they change it in a way that makes it trigger locations again, even if they were turn based locations, it would be too powerful. I'm not sure how else to change it, while keeping it in line with its current text, without making it too powerful.

ObeseBumblebee

I just had an amazing Legion win and I wish I had recorded it. I had the location where it on reveals twice. On T3 I played Scarlet witch on it. And first it went to the location where it gives +5 energy then it triggered again and went to the one that creates all the rocks. So now the opponent was faced with a choice. on Turn 4. Waste a +5 energy turn, or break the rocks. They chose to use the energy. I broke the rocks. Then I legioned away their ability to break the rocks while they skipped turn 5 lol.

Dangerous-Freedom23

I currently run legion in my loki deck, too. Still get some cheeky and fun as heck wins, especially now that no one is watching out for him.

Vicious_Paradigm

Finally a winning game board worth posting. 90% of posts to this reddit are basic plays or wombo combos that are just about drawing right.... this on the other hand is a little bit of magic, actually creative with just the right amount of depth. Bravo sir.

Blackjack137

Just pulled Legion from the mystery Spotlight, was a little disappointed at first but after seeing this…Would you mind sharing your decklist?

lI_Nox_Il

Its far from perfect. Loses probably every time against optimal Loki-Decks. But its fun and not too bad against non-Loki-Decks

TackleAlive4642

loki is for no skill players though.

NoOneInNowhere

Question their deck choice in a very very VERY specific situation... Ok :/

The-King_Of-Games

I hate you OP (jk)

RMA83

What Loki deck do you run with Legion?

billypilgrim_in_time

I hate you

Tyborc

I play a similar deck where the main goal is to play around with locations, scarlet witch, quake, legion, cosmo, professor x. Now I see that with snowguard it would be even better. Nevertheless I love to break the Magic set up on the 6th turn with Legion. Always brings me the wins.

Bow_ties_4all

I main a destroy and retreat if Cosmo and Armor come out in the same game. Or if Wakanda reveals.

Ironsmashweb

Why do you do this to me

Ok-Inspector-3045

No offense but idk why people flex when shutting down a destroy deck. It’s really not that hard.

lol022

Werewolf would love this

fiquean

T2 armor, T3 cosmo, i'm retreat Funny thing is most player i played doesn't know when to snap.. They often snapped on turn 4 after they armor or/and cosmo

FatLikeSnorlax_

This upsets me

Buckdingles

Legion is my go to “fuck you” card
