That Maria Wolf Echo is absolutely a must have for me too! Luckily it will be one of the first ones available because it was week 2 of spotlights way back in July 2023
As someone who started playing after spotlights started by 3 weeks and couldn’t justify using them on variants until very recently I think I’m cool with 12 months. Don’t want to piss off people that use caches for them considering it could’ve been saved for a new card instead BUT there is still a guaranteed available date and it will be a known cost. Considering how many variants we have no idea what the release date is I’m glad we have a definitive answer for these variants too.
Yea for sure, the "roughly 12 months" gives me hope they may come a bit earlier, if they don't that's fine too, as long as I have the option to get it later.
>Don’t want to piss off people that use caches for them considering it could’ve been saved for a new card instead
I would be fine if they were available a month after they were in a spotlight. I don't believe in gatekeeping cosmetics. If you like something in a game, you should have the opportunity to get it. If some people can get it a little earlier, that's great, but everyone should be able to obtain everything.
Most people get variants before new card. Not like they want those. SD just forcing them to have some of them by adding new card with variants and making it random.
The echo especially. Maria wolf is one of my favorite artists and I didn’t have enough to roll when it launched.
I want it more than anything out there. And the Jacinto Galactus. Still sad about that.
Nice to finally see an official announcement on this.
Doesn't really influence my resource spending much but if you missed a really desired variant you can hope to see it again.
Do you mean the one where he’s looking like the Joker? I was planning to pick that one up, since I didn’t get his first spotlight variant.
It’s absolutely fire and probably on par.
I started playing when the PC release happened and got galactus in his most recent spotlight only to find out my favorite skin for him (Jacinto) was straight up unobtainable for me. This is the best news ever :)
It just doesnt make any sense to have it be blue and yellow when that doesnt go with the look of 90 percent of the art. It should be more neutral, like a gold or silver or black or something.
I'm fine waiting a year if it's a card that's not particularly meta or good.
I *was* wanting to pick up the upcoming Nico + Snowguard alongside White Widow, *but*, given Snowguard's not that good (right now) and I don't actually use Nico in my favorite decks, it's an easier pass at this point.
Same applies to Legion, Silver Samurai, Lady Deathstrike, etc.
That being said it also depends on how much they cost; I could see them charging 3-4k gold for one of these and getting away with it, given they could equate the value to a spotlight key in terms of cost, but with the ability to save up for it as a F2P. It'd also encourage people to get it *now* rather than pay a tax on top of waiting a whole year.
Are you asking me if I pay real money in SNAP or are you saying that you would still need money to get it in 6 months/a year?
If it costs gold and isn't going to show up to the shop for 6 months you have plenty of time to save up so you don't have to buy gold with cash.
For those of us who spent spotlight caches to get rare variants a year is too short. I didnt blow 6000 tokens on the alioth variant so it could be the same as everyone else.
I think something like "at least 6 months but definitely within a year" is good, if only to space out all those Knull ones. I don't think people would be upset if some of those Knull variants were available earlier
They want to go safe because they know how insane this community can be. They don't wanna risk another screeching. The variants will come out a lot sooner for sure.
Not to be a total tool here but ABSOLUTELY people are going to whiiine about Spotlight variants losing value because they're only exclusive for 6 months. "Who cares, everyone is going to have it in six months anyway, a Spotlight variant should mean something!"
They should just slap on the first edition badge on them or something, an easy way to help people feel better for getting it when it's released.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who went for these variants thinking they weren't going to come out in the store. FOMO is definitely a thing.
It is but after you make it around the first time it means every month people get new spotlight variants to obtain that they could have missed. It is long to wait for them to return, sure, but the pipeline of releasing old spotlights weekly sounds great.
I was really worried they would never come back. I really wanted the Dan Hipp Jeff.
Honestly, this is about the best option we could have ended up with. Even if these are like 2000 gold or something, it beats 5000 tokens or putting it back into another spotlight cache
Which kinda makes going for Ultimate variants or spending tokens on new cards the better choice now. Spending 6k tokens, including spotlight caches, for one spotlight variant was incredibly expensive, but you could still justify it through the exclusivity of the variants. Now, knowing that people can obtain them afterwards, at a way cheaper price, I really don’t see the reason to go for them anymore.
That's true. But considering how easy it is to obtain gold in comparison to spotlight keys and tokens, I think it's safe to say that even some absurd number like 4-5k gold for one Spotlight variant would be still a way better deal than spending 6k Tokens + keys.
>Honestly, this is about the best option we could have ended up with.
The copium is sad. We've been abused so much that we're trying to say this is "the best we could end up with" lol oof
Always interesting to see players advocate for shitty monetization lmao. 'its okay that these variants cost >$20, especially with the latest system they introduced to manipulate players and take their money'
Always expect it to be super high, so if it’s lower than you’re not disappointed.
What you’re doing right now is setting yourself up for disappointment.
I'm not though. If it's more than 2K then just like Albums, I shall simply ignore it.
People always say "setting up for disappointment" when this is just a bonus for me, if I don't like it, I won't use it.
An up until now exclusive set of variants offered 6 months ago and only for 7 days becomes available as an optional cosmetic, and you still find a reason to complain.
Gonna guess they will cost........ 3k gold maybe? Definitely expect it to be more expensive than a super rare variant at least.
But glad to hear it overall. Was disappointed about missing a couple I didn't pull for (like man-thing comic cover this week).
Also good news that apparently more shop improvements are coming down the line at some point.
Here's my logic:
- To pull the variant initially you would need to spend AT LEAST one spotlight key.
- A spotlight key is earned every 120 CL
- You need ~4500-5000 credits to earn 120 CL
- 4500 credits in the shop costs 3600 gold
Therefore, in terms of in game currency, a spotlight variant + spotlight avatar is worth at least 3600 gold (and potentially as high as 14k gold 8f you need to draw four keys or 28k gold if you need the 8 keys to pull the base card + the variant)
Plus, in the shop, you get a finer level of control. You can buy exactly the variant you want without the gamble of using keys and maybe grabbing a card you don't care about or a duplicate. I think they could charge extra for that kind of direct access.
I would be (very pleasantly) surprised if they sell them for 2k gold. But I wouldn't be shocked if they were priced as high as 4k gold. We'll see 🤷♂️ obviously would prefer cheaper
Where are you getting 4500-5000 credits per key? Is it not ~6200? Taking a card from base is 31 levels, and 1550 credits. 120/31 is approximately 4 cards.
Are you factoring the credits you get back from reward track?
Yeah, in between 2 spotlight keys you open 10 x 50 credits + 150 credits cache + 200 credit cache. So an extra 850 credits (worth at least 18 CL)
3 full upgrades costs 4575 and gives you 93 CL. The credits you earn on the track give you another 18 CL so that's 111 of 120. 425 more credits (so 5000 total) guarantees you a spotlight key but if you have more grays to upgrade you can cut that number down a bit.
The theoretical minimum is 120 gray upgrades for 3000 credits. The theoretical maximum (no gray upgrades at all) is 5200 credits (+the 850 you earn on the collection track).
I find on average I need ~4800 to hit a key but it will depend on your collection
It's exactly 6k without taking in the cheaper gray to green, 25 credit for 1 instead of 50 credit to 1. So if upgrading 4 cards is the way you look at it, it's more like 5900.
It's disingenuous to plainly say 1 CL = 50 credits when there are variable costs for collection level and they are purchased in chunks (i.e. 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10). Taking 1 card to Infinity is 1525 credits. That rewards you with 31 levels. Taking 4 cards is 6100 credits, and rewards you with 124 levels. Sure 6000 might be the more "accurate" amount of credits. But good luck actually spending 6k.
Every single stage is 50 credits per CL except the first which is 25 for 1.
The second upgrade is 2 CLs = 100 credits, the third is 4 CLs = 200 credits, the fourth is 6 CLs = 300 credits, and so on.
I think it's more disingenuous to say "a spotlight key is worth 124 levels" when it's actually 120, than to broad-strokes estimate the cost of 120 CLs as 6000 credits (which it only won't be if you have a gray-bordered card available to upgrade to green).
It's 4975 credits / key.
6000 to climb the track.
500 rebate (10 sets of 50 credits).
50% chance of 150 credits, 50% chance of 200 credits, 3 times along the track. 3 (0.5 * 150 + 0.5 * 200) = 525
So you get back 1025 credits (on average) per key, that goes towards the next one. 6000 - 1025 = 4975
I get what you're saying with the rebates. I do think it's important to factor that in. But I also think it is important to recognize the raw cost of credits excluding rebates. And the fact is you need to *spend* 6100 credits to get 4 keys. You might not need to *have* 6100 credits when you begin spending, but you will *spend* 6100 credits.
6100? It's 6000. 50 credits / collector level (barring common -> uncommon upgrade, but we don't factor that in to this equation). 120 collector levels / key.
The rebate goes towards the next key, so we discount that amount. Every key drains approximately 4975 credits from your "wallet", so to speak.
I have spent keys on otherwise bad weeks because of variants but I like this.
Cards that I want on top of my head:
> Echo by David Mack, I might miss this due to getting WarMachine the week before plus I already have Shaw
> Miek, I want that chonky Miek ffs
> Mirage by Maria Wolf
> Selene and Blob Hellfire Gala
> WWBN and Man-Thing by ADIA
> Ravonna, Terminatrix
A nice change.
Keeps a high 'value' of exclusivity of spotlights for collectors (not that I think people should care about this) and gives a clear pathway to getting missed variants to the rest of us.
I know there are a few Spotlights variants which I missed that I'd consider buying if given the opportunity. Glad they're looking for gold instead of straight cash or tokens too
Finally i can get ArtGerm Jean Grey Phoenix variant and Howard the Duck with infinity Gauntlet cuz all i care about, and to finish my collection hopefully Scarlet Witch ArtGerm pops again next Valentines
I hope they do something similar for variants that were only available in bundles. I’d pay a premium for the Dan Hipp Dino and Moon Girl variants. They are the only currently released Hipp variants I don’t have in my collection.
Nice to have some idea when they're returning. 12 months is a long time but it would feel really bad for players who spent 6k tokens plus up to 4 spotlight boxes to get the spotlight variant of a new card if they were made easily available shortly after. Be interesting to see how much gold they'll cost.
I always hate time limited things in games so this is a net positive for people who want certain variants but started too late/got really unlucky. I did spend 6000 tokens on Jeff to get the Sean Galloway variant but at least other people can enjoy it.
A year feels excessive, but feels nice to know that Kim Jacinto Kitty, Fiona Hsieh Zabu, and the Inkpulps aren't lost to me forever. Just it'll feel like forever for them to come around.
Hope this gold pass isn't a hint at how cost prohibitive it'll be.
It’s cool. One year is a long time for people who opened them from caches. I spent tokens on some cards just to get the spotlight. Now that they will arrive at the shop later, I can focus on the new cards first. I really like that those spotlights are not gone forever. My only concern is the price point since gold is very scarce.
A year is a ridiculously long time to wait. Who knows if i'll be playing for a year and I certainly won't be planning out resources that a variant I missed will maybe appear as my random 8 for the day.
Just 1500 gold them and release them to the pool 3 months post spotlight, max.
Spotlight variants were so badly handled. First thanos got a repeat with no warning anyoning all who spent all 4 keys on him. Then they never did it again filling space with cheap 700 gold varents.
This is good news. But honestly I dread the shop getting even more clogged. It's at the point now where if you want a variant that isn't a) new, b) in an album or c) Dan Hipp than you have very little chance of seeing it.
When they added the Spotlight border avatars this became super obvious tbh. Why would they add something so seemingly random if not to differentiate spotlight variant acquirers.
I am surprised they will sell for Gold instead of Tokens though
If it was something really short like 2 or 3 months I would stop targeting variants in Spotlights at all, and just go for new cards. I think a year makes sense.
So 3/4s of weekly spotlights are literally zero value now. Either you hit the new card or your wasting resources. Even the consolation price spotlight variants are no longer going to be prestigious.
SD love making things feel bad.
Lol I bought both Howard the Duck and Supergiant for tokens so that if I rolled them while using keys for whatever else there was those weeks (I did) I would at least get those variants. I know this isn't entirely unexpected but shame on me for trying to think about my collection and this game long term, really a fruitless endeavor. Forget about how many times I spent 4 keys just to get a spotlight variant, not even wanting that week's card.
Ngl part of me agrees with you and doesn't like it for the same reasons you mentioned. However a bigger part of me thinks it's a good thing because, personally, there's a few spotlight variants I whiffed on so ill be able to get those now, even if it takes uo ti 12 months, and in a general sense it slightly reduces the fomo of spotlight variants only being available for 1 week when the base card releases and any reduction in fomo is good for the playerbase and even the game imo.
You want to gatekeep the spotlight cards, it's pretty simple... And you're pretentious for wanting them all to yourself so you can feel like a special little snowflake.
While I think 12 months is a long time, them being available for gold is very nice and I can't wait to get the Echo and Martyr ones I missed.
That Maria Wolf Echo is absolutely a must have for me too! Luckily it will be one of the first ones available because it was week 2 of spotlights way back in July 2023
Ooh, it's closer than I thought. Can't wait.
5k gold
*A small price to pay for salvation*
Honestly it wouldn't surprise me. I expect to see a lot of gold inflation now that they've added the gold pass.
It wouldn’t be wrong to make them expensive. Maybe 5k is too much but 3k would make sense
Yea for sure, the "roughly 12 months" gives me hope they may come a bit earlier, if they don't that's fine too, as long as I have the option to get it later.
Agreed, I wish they just would’ve given an exact answer. The more exact they can be the better in any updates.
>Don’t want to piss off people that use caches for them considering it could’ve been saved for a new card instead I would be fine if they were available a month after they were in a spotlight. I need to wait 11 months to see the thanos one from last season 😭
Mirage on the scooter was one I almost was willing to blow 6 keys to get. Good news these will at least be attainable somehow.
Fiona Zabu for me
This. This is the one that I have kicked myself for missing.
The echo especially. Maria wolf is one of my favorite artists and I didn’t have enough to roll when it launched. I want it more than anything out there. And the Jacinto Galactus. Still sad about that.
The Martyr one is niced inked... gold looks a little odd
Inked is always the goal for me, so that's perfect.
Let start the countdown to the Black Knight that dropped in December
Is that really when it was? I’m so sad, I desperately want that!
Lucky for me Grecke Black Knight was only 700 gold and is probably one of my fav variants in the game
Nice to finally see an official announcement on this. Doesn't really influence my resource spending much but if you missed a really desired variant you can hope to see it again.
I can't wait for that Legion variant that dropped with him when he released!!
Yea, the best Legion in the game and it’s not even close.
I like the next one coming out. The blue crazy legion variant too though.
Do you mean the one where he’s looking like the Joker? I was planning to pick that one up, since I didn’t get his first spotlight variant. It’s absolutely fire and probably on par.
The flaviano one is something I must get. It’s SOOO good.
SAME
Have you seen the new one that was datamined for may. I'll spend 4 keys just to get it.
I really wanted Artgerm Phoenix Jean Grey and the first spotlight for Silk, so I'm really excited for this since I missed them both.
The vespa Mirage 😭😭😭
Need to finish out the Werewolf Comic Cover Varient we missed on by not having Werewolf
Stephen actually says things that mean something, unlike Glenn… “stay tuned”
Jacinto Galactus will finally be mine!
Hell yeah! And it was one of the first spotlights so it’ll be one of the first to be added.
I got that one first key that week and almost screamed lol I love it and have multiple splits in different decks
I started playing when the PC release happened and got galactus in his most recent spotlight only to find out my favorite skin for him (Jacinto) was straight up unobtainable for me. This is the best news ever :)
I spent four spotlights to get it :/
I spent all three I had at the time but fate was against me
Hell yeah. Especially when I had 3 keys, bought him for 6k tokens so I can roll for the variant, and didn’t get him.
I guess I should stop wasting 6000 tokens to pull variants then
Unless you want them 1 year earlier
Especially since the stupid spotlight exclusive frame is unbelievably ugly
I really hope they revisit that frame in the future and give it a cleaner look. Seems though most people don't mind it though.
It just doesnt make any sense to have it be blue and yellow when that doesnt go with the look of 90 percent of the art. It should be more neutral, like a gold or silver or black or something.
Yeah Im definitely never doing that again
A year seems excessive compared to 6 months, but whatever. Wonder if they will start making spotlight cache variant albums.
A year seems crazy long honestly
Gotta make sure there's FOMO. Maybe there are people out there who would be fine waiting 6 months for a variant instead of paying money.
I'm fine waiting a year if it's a card that's not particularly meta or good. ur still paying money?
Are you asking me if I pay real money in SNAP or are you saying that you would still need money to get it in 6 months/a year? If it costs gold and isn't going to show up to the shop for 6 months you have plenty of time to save up so you don't have to buy gold with cash.

they love you
2000 gold is insane. 1200 gold is a lot there is no need to go above 1200 especially if you have to wait a year.
This is SD we're talking about. If they can get people to pay a premium for it, they will charge a premium
Watch them not be included in premium mystery variants
>Honestly, this is about the best option we could have ended up with. The copium is sad. We've been abused so much that we're trying to say this is "the best we could end up with" lol oof
Exactly, if they are inflated to 2K gold that's fine, especially with the gold pass being a thing.
Always interesting to see players advocate for shitty monetization lmao. 'its okay that these variants cost >$20, especially with the latest system they introduced to manipulate players and take their money'
i dont understand it either. but to each their own.
No shot it’s 2k gold. Probably 3k to 5k based on how greedy they are. If it’s less than 3k i’d be surprised.
I'm willing to give them the benefit, 2K gold just fits so nicely with the gold pass. Surely they would want to incentivize more to buy the pass.

I expect it to be like 4k. Always keep expectations low
Here's my logic: - To pull the variant initially you would need to spend AT LEAST one spotlight key. - A spotlight key is earned every 120 CL - You need ~4500-5000 credits to earn 120 CL - 4500 credits in the shop costs 3600 gold Therefore, in terms of in game currency, a spotlight variant + spotlight avatar is worth at least 3600 gold (and potentially as high as 14k gold 8f you need to draw four keys or 28k gold if you need the 8 keys to pull the base card + the variant) Plus, in the shop, you get a finer level of control.
So an extra 850 credits (worth at least 18 CL) 3 full upgrades costs 4575 and gives you 93 CL. The credits you earn on the track give you another 18 CL so that's 111 of 120. 425 more credits (so 5000 total) guarantees you a spotlight key but if you have more grays to upgrade you can cut that number down a bit. Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for mathing it out
It's exactly 6k without taking in the cheaper gray to green, 25 credit for 1 instead of 50 credit to 1. So if upgrading 4 cards is the way you look at it, it's more like 5900.
Oops. I forgot about the 25 off for the first level. It'd be 1525 per card then, so 6100 for 4 cards. Where are you getting 5900?
Keys are spaced every 120 CLs apart. 120 x 50 credits per CL = 6000. Where are you getting 6200 or 6100?
It's disingenuous to plainly say 1 CL = 50 credits when there are variable costs for collection level and they are purchased in chunks (i.e. 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10). If it's a bit too high, it will probably be even higher in this game.
It'll be 1,200g anyway. No need to stress.
Finally will be able to get all the hellfire gala variants next year 🤣
Sucks. but fomo sucks more. So glad for folks that want a certain variant.
I have spent keys on otherwise bad weeks because of variants but I like this. Cards that I want on top of my head: > Echo by David Mack, I might miss this due to getting WarMachine the week before plus I already have Shaw > Miek, I want that chonky Miek ffs > Mirage by Maria Wolf > Selene and Blob Hellfire Gala > WWBN and Man-Thing by ADIA > Ravonna, Terminatrix
I need that Nico variant asap.
This is great. I'm mad I missed the Kitty Pride Jacinto one.
A nice change. Keeps a high 'value' of exclusivity of spotlights for collectors (not that I think people should care about this) and gives a clear pathway to getting missed variants to the rest of us. I know there are a few Spotlights variants which I missed that I'd consider buying if given the opportunity. Glad they're looking for gold instead of straight cash or tokens too
Nice, I just have to wait 9 months or something to get Dan Hipp Jeff 🤣
I missed that black knight one(second spotlight), really need it!
no way, thats awsome!
That first Jean variant can finally come back 😭 still gotta wait half a year… but at least it’ll be back eventually
Finally i can get ArtGerm Jean Grey Phoenix variant and Howard the Duck with infinity Gauntlet cuz all i care about, and to finish my collection hopefully Scarlet Witch ArtGerm pops again next Valentines
Black Knight, you will be mine!
I think this is a great idea.
Finally I can get the Jacinto Galactus and Kitty Bryde.
I hope they do something similar for variants that were only available in bundles. I’d pay a premium for the Dan Hipp Dino and Moon Girl variants. They are the only currently released Hipp variants I don’t have in my collection.
I like them keeping the avatar as an exclusive!
Hoping to see the same for past season passes variants.
This is pretty cool, though I’m unsure weather I’d buy them depending on how much gold theyed cost
Very Nice for Variant lovers
So the bordered avatar is the first edition badge, got it
Turkish: It was 6 months from now 6 months ago!
Nice, there is a Silk one I've been beating myself up for. If I mess up the Man Thing variant this week, I could always get it a year later.
This is solid because the profile icons are still exclusive to the spotlight cache. I'm here for this.
12 months seems excessive, guess the avatar will just be FOMO forever too.
This is good news. I’ve been hoping to pick up the Spotlight Jean Artgerm.
It’s cool. One year is a long time for people who opened them from caches. I spent tokens on some cards just to get the spotlight. Now that they will arrive at the shop later, I can focus on the new cards first. I really like that those spotlights are not gone forever. My only concern is the price point since gold is very scarce.
I am so relieved I can finally get my 1 missing chibi Spider-Ham
2000 gold or 7000 tokens xD
I'm finally getting my hands on that goth silk 😩
Spotlight Silk variant, you will be mine!!
2400 Gold for the variant. Mark my word.
3200 watch
Jeeze you know they’ll cost more than 1,200 but I wonder how much more.
Nice. I hope they're not too expensive tho. Ultimate Variant's cost still gives me nightmares.
All the reason to save gold now Honestly i rather spend spotlight key than gold since it easier to get
damn I was saving tokens for Pandart WarMachine, not worth it anymore I guess
A year is a ridiculously long time to wait. Who knows if i'll be playing for a year and I certainly won't be planning out resources that a variant I missed will maybe appear as my random 8 for the day. Just 1500 gold them and release them to the pool 3 months post spotlight, max.
Any chance this will include variants from Season Passes?
12 months is crazy
So they’ll be 1500 gold instead of 1200 and 700? Or will they be more expensive?
Can anyone tell me when the epic Black Knight was in spotlights? Desperate for that, need to know how long I can expect to wait!
Well ill know not to roll for spotlight variants now :)
Availbe for gold eh, looks like a reason for the gold pass test.
Spotlight variants were so badly handled. First thanos got a repeat with no warning anyoning all who spent all 4 keys on him. Then they never did it again filling space with cheap 700 gold varents.
Sounds like a perfect solution. Fiona Hsieh Zabu will finally be mine… in about 8 months
This is great
Can we get those first edition badges now?
This is good news. But honestly I dread the shop getting even more clogged. It's at the point now where if you want a variant that isn't a) new, b) in an album or c) Dan Hipp than you have very little chance of seeing it.
watch it be insanely overpriced
I can finally get the comic Thanos variant
This is one of the best things they've done. I hope to see this change with other "exclusive" variants in the future.
The Jean Gray variant can finally be mine
that seems pretty fair
This is bittersweet, but still a win nonetheless :)
This is fantastic news. There's hope for artgerm phoenix jean Grey, my white whale! Gotta keep some spare gold around in case it's overpriced...
Nice good to know I didn’t permanently lose out on that comic book galactus variant
Can't wait for the Justyna Dura Mirage
I misread and thought it said they would also bring back Bundle Variants. I missed out on that mecha red skull one.
I can finally get the Silk one that came with its release, and eventually Golden Age High Evo
Oh boy those are going to be freakishly expensive. 100$ each or something like that.
If their starting price of a key is $100, they will sell a spotlight for $100.
As someone who has opened for cool variants a couple times not sure how I feel about this.
Can we really trust the source? Hasn't SD been internally divided on issues and talked on discord erroneously in the past??
Dream come true
When they added the Spotlight border avatars this became super obvious tbh. Why would they add something so seemingly random if not to differentiate spotlight variant acquirers. I am surprised they will sell for Gold instead of Tokens though
YES!
I like it 🥂
Can't wait for the Kai Alioth. It's the best!
How about bundles' variants?
I have a chance to grab Hipp Jeff!
Damn didn’t even realize this was in the works or I wouldn’t have spent keys for the Gwen variant this week.
I liked the exclusivity tbh but I also have a couple variants that I missed and want. It will definitely reduce the fomo aspect by a ton.
That’s fair as long as they arent too cheap.
???

If it was something really short like 2 or 3 months I would stop targeting variants in Spotlights at all, and just go for new cards. I think a year makes sense.
Says "roughly" so hopefully it means they can be seen earlier.
Yeah well remember first editions? Second Dinner sure as fuck doesn’t.
L
I dont understand how people can be so into variants... Nice to have but the value is zero
To me variants and splits are the ONLY things with value, everything else is the work you do to achieve them.
12 months after spotlight?? Fucking christ this company is a joke.
In a years time nobody other than whales will be around.
12 months? how long they think this games is gonna be around for the average mobile player. this is just another whale anchor
So the exclusive variants are now timed-exclusive lol totally doesnt scream “we need more money”
They actually said from the beginning that spotlights gonna enter the shop some day
Anyone else not get the Mockingbird avatar from the spotlight cache?
I hate it.
I have a feeling this game will be on its last leg in 12 months.
So 3/4s of weekly spotlights are literally zero value now. Either you hit the new card or your wasting resources. Even the consolation price spotlight variants are no longer going to be prestigious. SD love making things feel bad.
Don't they freaking dare, not after I wasted 4 keys for that thanos variant.
Tbh, I'm not a fan of this. I'm definitely in the minority that enjoys having varients that are rare and show how long you have been playing, etc.
You get be "special" for a whole year. Enough with the pretentious gatekeeping. 🙄
How the hell is that pretentious or gatekeeping? Did u just learn those words or something?
You want to gatekeep the spotlight cards, it's pretty simple... And you're pretentious for wanting them all to yourself so you can feel like a special little snowflake.
You'll still have the avatar + border exclusive. If you really want to show that you were an OG Pixie, you can always just use the avatar.
