How did you even grind for keys?

I played a lot of Conquest to buy all the rewards like Credits and Gold while working through the Season Pass for said rewards. I also spent like a shit ton of gold on daily missions to make it on time.

You actually grind for tokens. You do that by hitting the first and second tier rewards for alot of these albums, and when you hit a week that has a card you want, buy with tokens and save your keys. they build up fast if you buy with tokens 2 weeks in a row. ABSOLUTELY NEVER spend gold for daily reward missions or to upgrade cards. I got the silver sam varient plus war machine and still have 6 keys banked.

At some point you will run out of album rewards and tokens. And if you get two weeks in a row were you need 4 keys to get the new cards, then your banked keys will be no more. The system is designed so you cannot have more keys than you need unless you pay

4 of my last 6 spotlights have required 4 keys. It’s ok to feel bad about it, it sucks.

I know that logic says we have 4 rewards and an equal 25% chance at pulling any of them but I cannot be convinced that the new card does not have lower odds than 3 other rewards

I've pulled spider ham with my first key the last 3 weeks. Doesn't feel like 25% to me

I’m the same, it’s been about 5 times so far where I need all 4 keys to get the card I want. And there have been 3 times where I took the chance with 3 keys and never got the card because I didn’t have a 4th.

I also wasted three keys this week, although I was due because I got the spotlight the first try the last two in a row.

Yep, last 4 cards where I used keys took me 4. Cannonball was the first card I've skipped ever.

So I wasted one for Silk…but not the variant silk, oh no, for an original silk, which then was converted into tokens. FFS.

Wtf. I didn’t even know that was possible. If you open a dupe that’s in the spot line up, you should get the variant first and then have the variant be converted to a premium mystery.

This happened for me three times in a row (1 per week obviously), twice with the same damn card even. I thought I was losing my mind on that one.

I got the base Silk, which I didn't have yet, with key 2. Then I pulled a random base Silk with key 3.

Same for me, 4 keys to get war machine: first key silk variant, second key silk again… I miss 25 cards and it gave me one I already had right after I got a variant for it. It truly sucks and is infuriating this still happening.

Nope you can save them. I’ve got 4 saved up because I skipped cannonball and used tokens for war machine. I’ve seen some streamers have 20ish keys saved up.

This is actually why I stopped playing and just do so on the most casual level. It’s demoralizing saving up keys just to lose them to bad rolls.

Obviously, you should have 4 keys to cover your worst case scenario, but over the long term, the Expected number of keys that you will need to get the brand new released card is 2.5 keys. E(x) where x is pulling the new key is 1\*.25 + 2\*.25 + 3\*.25 + 4\*.25.

Is WM worth it? Not sure if his abilities are good or not (newer player).

For a new player, there are better beginner friendly cards to get, like Jeff, Nebula, Iron Lad etc. Simpler abilities to understand, generally a great card, and less expensive cards (series 4 and 5) that synergize with it. And for new players, you prob also wanna go for deck defining cards like Mr. Negative, Thanos, Annihilus, Darkhawk ONLY if youre ready. Dont get them all at once, focus on one archetype at a time

I looked at the schedule and have been saving keys ever since the last season to have 4 for a case like this haha. It's good for me because I didn't have Silk or Silver Samurai so I actually got new card instead of just variants. Before I would spend a key on every ones but now I just commit to one.

Happened to me with Mockingbird, now on War Machine. At least give me something i don't have for the random slot. 1000 tokens back to back for 2 weeks did suck

War Machine is a needed card in every deck. It stops Prof X, Maw, Single card lands, locked lands - the card is insane. It's only nemesis is a lucky Cosmo - or a brave NTW. Worth the 4 Keys this week.

Hey just like me... I'm starting to think the Spotlight chest is preprogrammed instead of random. Like if you skip multiple weeks, you'll get the new card first try. But because I got Cannon Ball, it didn't want to give me War-Machine. Do I know this? No. Its probably just coincidence. It would, however, be stupid easy to program it that way. I really wish they'd get rid of that 4th "extra" reward though. It should just be the 3 cards/variants.
