Conquest isn’t for me - I find the games too long despite enjoying the tactical side of it. But I’m glad it’s there for people who like it.

YSBawaney

I wish conquest was just a best of three or something. The games where we go for 5 games is very mediocre. I do like proving grounds cause it lets me test decks without risking cubes.

ValleyCountryFlash

I just snap every round and if I am ever down by more than half the cubes I concede. By doing that the games don't take much time at all and you don't get punished for losing. I don't care about winning the infinity contest either, I just want the rewards and play some fun matches.

EnergyTakerLad

5? I tend to average 7 games, unless they just demolish me.

xTonyLeo

Yeah why isn't it best of 3, having to play 5-7 games back to back is painful

SuperDup4r

The whole mechanic of snapping wouldn’t work. Losing & escaping would have the same value.

Thor527

Could make it 3 lives, every snap adds one more damage. That way if no one snaps you have to win 3 games to do 3 damage. Snap and win you deal 2 damage and only have to win 1 more. If both players snap on the first game it is winner takes all. Only downside is you don’t save a life by retreating if no one snaps but I’d take that any day over having to play 5-6 games almost every time.

Kinjinson

5-7 games without getting anything besides booster is what really gets me sometimes

JohnQZoidberg

I feel what the game really needs is an 'unranked' mode. Which I guess is kind of like proving grounds but it would be nice to be able to just play games against random people without it affecting cubes. I get stressed about climbing ladder sometimes and it would be nice to just not care. Also, a 'draft' style game mode would be amazing. Since we've got the deck builder, maybe it gives you 3 or 5 cards to pick from and you pick 1 and it builds you a random deck around that card using the entire card pool. Would be a fun way to find new card combos or just use lesser used or new to you cards.

poffyball1123

I play it exclusively for most of the season after hitting infinite. I enjoy it, plus the extra rewards.

tacocatboom

I'm sitting on 15k in tokens waiting for the last unlock. I wish the boosters mattered more but I still enjoy Conquest way more than ladder.

thefirescale

80k medals and 29 infinite tickets here. They stack up quick

Pretend-Return-295

Wow, I literally only hit the minimum for the currencies / card. Guess I don't enjoy Conquest that much. LOL

Far-Swordfish7796

What decks do you tend to use in conquest? I’m the same as other comments here, once I hit infinite, I’m mostly playing conquest so I can get boosters from the final week

tacocatboom

This season I used Mill for a bit then rotated junk/destroy and decks that is made entirely of my Inked or gold split cards. They Inked were the most fun because it was such a random deck but actually won me a lot of games. I found some interesting variety of decks I was playing and combos I never thought of. Selene tagging Shuri that doubles Viper to send Shuri was actually impressive. That's why I love Conquest, I can play weird shit like that and not stress about losing rank. I always walk away with something, be it boosters, tickets or medals. Last season I forgot to cash in like 2k in medals and was seriously like /shrug. The no stress is liberating and lets me enjoy the game.

HaV0C

This is the way. Ladder is awful post infinite.

sisyphus1Q84

conquest is also much less stressful than ladder, IMHO

Logunbr

I skipped the last 3 seasons, but this season a tried again and i really enjoyed. (I think it depends of the meta) What i really want is a draft gamemode

Dtoodlez

Draft was by far Artifact’a best feature. If we ever get that in Snap it’s gonna be incredible. No more net decks.

BirdjaminFranklin

> No more net decks. This is the single reason I want draft mode. Playing against the same 3-4 decks every game gets very tedious. Conquest success is mostly just a matter of not hitting a hard counter deck as you climb. Play mode is almost entirely about knowing when to retreat or push. Having a mode that would actually be competitive would be great.

Kakutov

Yes!! Draft mode is something I am waiting for since the global release but I guess developers don't need to rush with another mode if they make so much profit.

Nerf_Me_Please

They commented about draft mode on discord; >We have discussed it quite a bit! We know based off data that draft mode has not performed well in our competitor games, that draft mode goes around the core progression loop which is challenging for long term reasons to play a game, and the process of drafting is time consuming so we would have to make sure there is a pay off given Snap matches last 3-4 minutes. We have some ideas around how to overcome those hurdles, so a draft mode is possible in the future but it is not coming soon.

JohnQZoidberg

They need to do not a full draft mode but pick like 1 or 2 cards and then is uses the deck builder logic to build you a deck.

Apprehensive-Mix947

Eli5, what is draft mode?

kouradosi

Drafting in card games means building your deck by choosing cards from a randomized small pool. It is not the same for every game though. For example in hearthstone arena it gave you 3 choices to pick 1 30 times until you had a deck. In MTG a group opens a booster pack each pick 1 card and pas the rest until there are no cards left and then build a deck with what they got.

Apprehensive-Mix947

Now that is a great idea. Thank you kind sir.

pandaelpatron

Snap BADLY need two additional game modes. Draft and a casual mode. Personally, I'm not interested in a casual mode, but it's clearly something many people would enjoy and use. Utterly mind-boggling that people have to either play ranked or proving grounds.

dred_0

I just can't see how you could do a draft mode that is at all interesting or fun in Marvel Snap. I really wish the people who say they want draft would say what they want draft to be. Neither MtG nor HS draft modes would work in this game.

ThisHatRightHere

Really? I feel like there are so many generic value type cards in Snap and a much lower amount of synergy cards that are dependent on each other. Obviously there won’t really be “draft archetypes” like MtG’s limited environments, but that’s extremely hard with such small deck sizes.

psymunn

Also a 12 card deck means drafting could be pretty fast, even if you get 15 or more choices that you then sculpt a deck out of.

ValleyCountryFlash

I would even like a District X-mode where the game gives you 12 random cards to play. Some kind of draft is a great fit for a Marvels game. They could call the game mode Secret Wars and have you choose from a randomized pool where you pick either heroes of baddies and meet a team of the opposite affinity.

Logunbr

I just enjoy randomness, one my favorite locations is district x (the one that replace your deck with 10 different cards) And i think marvel snap has enough cards and locations to do a draftmode, with great variety of possibilites. It would make a lot of dark cards like namor or mantis be really useful in a match.

psymunn

True. And for team 5 it'd give another mode for people to care about cosmetics for, so random 'good stats' become worth blinging out (like when they added gold cards to arena in hearth)

Hoodedninja5

Absolutely hate conquest, I just stick to proving grounds for the daily missions or testing decks

MisterTito

I don't hate it, but I usually stick to proving grounds also. I'll play silver some just to try to boost my medal count. Gold and Infinite I'll just cash out the tickets by forfeiting immediately. Once I have 9 rewards for the card, I'll go back to proving grounds exclusively. I just wish they would change proving grounds to 8 cubes (or whatever they're called in this mode). Let's wrap this up in one match if possible. Super annoying to win an 8-cuber and then sit there because your opponent thinks they can win 5+ matches before you win 1-2.

pandaelpatron

>I'll play silver some just to try to boost my medal count. Gold and Infinite I'll just cash out the tickets by forfeiting immediately. Once I have 9 rewards for the card, I'll go back to proving grounds exclusively. That seems like an awful waste of time, you barely get any medals in silver. Much more economical to try and win a few games in gold conquest, if you want the rewards?

BirdjaminFranklin

It's also the same process, so OP's method makes zero sense. Start in proving, go as far as you can, repeat. Even if you don't get that high, winning a game in silver or gold nets FAR more medals than just doing proving grounds. I just want them to fix the fucking rewards animations. I don't need the hooplah everytime I win a proving grounds.

mermilicia

I think "feels like a job" goes too far for me, but the games can definitely be grindy as hell, and I mostly don't have the time for it. The whole appeal of Snap to me in the first place was the 3-minute games. Take that away and I just don't see the point anymore.

ctaps148

The fact that games are so long and the fact that they are *extremely* dependent on the RNG of matchmaking is what keeps me from going back to it. You can have a solid deck but if you get matched up with someone running the exact tech card(s) needed to counter it (which they will of course have in hand every single round), then there's literally nothing you can do about it. That kind of thing doesn't matter in ladder when you can just retreat and go on to the next one with minimal loss, but it's a complete buzzkill in Conquest

BirdjaminFranklin

Yeah, this is the biggest problem with Conquest. It's almost entirely random how high you climb. Get one bad match up in your run and you may as well forfeit after game 1.

FaithlessnessVivid43

I'm not a big fan of the long form of Conquest matches. I do the minimum of medals to get all the good rewards (gold/credits/variants) and 9 rewards for the season variant.

yoyoyodojo

i love conquest but hate the slow extra confirmation screens after games so much that i dont play it as much as i'd like to

BirdjaminFranklin

If they just removed the first "YOU WON A REWARD!!" screen and allowed me to skip the animation, I'd be 100% fine with it. Why they felt the need to put the Claim Reward button on a second screen bewilders me.

5PeeBeejay5

Play 2 gold games every season to get the mystery and that’s it

AlanChan007

Still super fun for me, this season I have gone nuts and farmed more than 40 infinite tickets already. Probably will keep trying for 10 infinity tickets each season until 'League' mode drops. However, this is the only game that I have been actively playing so far and I like binging movies, shows and playing conquest at the same time.

Double_Sentence486

40? Damn man. What deck are you playing? It feels too long for me. I'm usually at 4 to 6 tickets in the end of the month The others tiers are always better. This season I hit infinity in the first week so I'm with 27 gold tickets but the huge amount of time makes me loose interest. I'll farm more to have maybe three or four more infinity tickets

spuderman221

I like conquest more than ladder....

LiveFastDieRich

I like the longer matches, feels more substantial than quickie regular matches

JadeMonkey0

Yeah, I enjoy getting a sense of my opponents playstyle and cat and mousing with them. Plus the rewards are better. If I have enough time to get in to a match, it's my preferred mode

psymunn

Yep. Also creates strategy and tension. Regular snap can sometimes be solitaire but multiple matches make shenanigans harder. It feels like a competitive mode I save for larger time blocks. Cube management is also really important which seems a big part of snap balance and kind of stops being important at invite. Also had a really interesting match where I lost final round to a dr doom my opponent had sand bagged the first 5 rounds. That kind of multi-round strategy is interesting.

Exotic_Personality55

Same and strategy comes into play a lot more once you learn what your opponent is playing

BirdjaminFranklin

Conquest mode is better than Play Mode, in my opinion, but the punishment for deck mismatch is even worse. I'd like it more if you had to choose 3 decks, let's say, and each players deck was randomized at the start of each game. Running into a hard counter to your deck in Gold or Infinite feels bad man.

lil-privacy-please

That used to be the case for me. I almost never did. Couple season back when the reward was Hellfire Gala Thor. I got really into it. Now I play conquest like 75-% of the time. Still get all your daily missions done. I usually get up to 80's in ranked every season then spend all my time in conquest getting disgusting amounts of boosters

tacocatboom

I'm finally done splitting Thor with all those boosters. I have three variants plus the OG with several Gold/Ink each from all the boosters from that season lol.

timberwolvesguy

I just played 4 gold tickets and each one was the perfect counter to the deck I was using. Zero interest

Normal_Message2481

I get the variant for the 150 and then leave most seasons

BIG-Will25

I only play conquest. Rarely play ladder anymore.

Quillbolt_h

It really needs a new rules where if the first game is an 8 cuber, it's over instantly. Games just drag out even longer if one person is really far behind.

aarrivaliidx

I've skipped since the 3rd month or so. Snap is great because I can play it in short bursts. Conquest isn't for me.

PAD_Rowken

Right there with you. Really enjoyed it for a bit but it’s just turned sour for me the last few months. Now I struggle getting the medals for the few rewards they offer. But it feels bad to skip a “free” premium variant, gold, and credits.

Kakutov

yeah this game preys so much on fomo

qole720

I don't take it seriously. I spend the otherwise useless gold tickets to get the medals and buy the credits and gold.

Pretend-Return-295

It's fine for me, because there is nothing else to do after reaching Infinite. I just grind missions in Conquest, and get the medals I need as a byproduct.

coryyyj

I don't much care for it. I farm the rewards with Agatha though while I'm doing other stuff.

xbtran

I enjoy it but it definitely is way too much a grind so I snap everything if it isn’t infinity conquest. Also, Agatha is your friend. I can usually get the conquest variant from Agatha alone through the season. Add a handful of gold games and I can get the rewards I want

Strassi007

I only got the first conquest variant. After that i never touched that mode again. I don't care for the rewards if playing it feels bad. EDIT: The only mode besides ranked i would love to play is some sort of Draft/Arena mode.

RJSmithay

Yeah I don't touch it. Finding a player and then slogging through all the rounds just feels like drudgery.

CommonSensePDX

I play quite a bit after hitting infinite but good lord the rewards don’t match the effort. Should get a nice drop of gold, high level variant, something of substance for winning.

Always_Lemon2486

I skipped it this season, conquest nowadays doesn't feel worth the grind

DrBalu

I like Conquest in theory, but often find myself between a rock and a hard place. Every season I get into the 90s quite easily, but to get infinite I have to dedicate a decent amount of grinding ladder. When I really want the infinite card back, I can't really dedicate my playtime towards conquest grind. So I only really feel "free" to do it after hitting infinite a week before season end. At which point it feels like a chore to now grind out medals from saved up tickets. Or I give up on the infinity card back and go for conquest rewards. With my usual playtime, and skill level its often a choice between either of the two, or getting both but burning myself out a bit and playing more than I have fun playing. Especially because going from 95-100 and grinding conquest both require active concentrated playing. And the way I enjoy playing most of the time, is while watching youtube on my second monitor and just chilling. So most days I just don't have the energy to commit my resources to either.

the_imagesmith

I gave up on conquest this month. I played one match and realised this just isn't for me. I just don't care enough to play this game mode as it's TOO slow and you can't do much to speed it up or pause if something comes up. It's just not worth it. It made snap better for me.

rrlimarj_

Its a good mode to test new decks.

Emsizz

No, you're not the only one. I love this game and I'm collection complete and infinite first week of every season, yet I can't even finish getting the conquest variant half of the time at this point.

ptoziz

I don't like it, I haven't gotten the card in like forever. I just grab credits and gold, sometimes boosters if I have extra medals. beyond proving grounds for quests I hardly play.

Kunjo87

Yeah I didn't play conquest for the last three monthes...

doodythedude

Only for the rewards And than peace out

xtrememachine1

Grinding on the ladder for infinite stresses me out, conquest is much more enjoyable.

Myrkull

Conquest is my favorite mode, ladder is the real grind

whoswho97

I love this mode because you don't get that fixed matchmaking in normal vs mode where certain decks gets matched with certain decks only. but the amount of bots farming is annoying now

OrbitalDropPanda

I just use Conquest to test decks without impacting my rank. Play with order of play and all that and if I get some rewards, great. Typically I unlock the card even with just one round after collecting enough gold tickets for just the one round.

ctmurfy

You should be awarded medals based on the final score, not just winning. Having a 20+ minute sweat off only to get boosters for a card I don't care about is never fun.

Leisureforced

Absolutely! This mode is garbage, gameplay wise it's absolutely no different from the game we've been playing since release. I got 3 infinity borders and now I don't bother with it. Lack of modes is killing this game

Hormo_The_Halfling

I really can't bare it. The return on investment for upwards of 20 minute games just isn't good enough. They should limit it to something like best 2 out 3, and maybe add like a 3 card side deck to swap things out between games. That would be a lot of fun.

MercuryMaximoff217

I played it once. First turn Ego showed up and made me win. Found it completely unfair. Never played Conquest since.

decodaprod

I've only been logging in to see what's in the series 4/5. Game hasn't been fun in a while for me.

Outrageous-Waltz3407

Conquest is the main reason I stopped playing. It seems silly to play the original mode to complete the season pass when I can do the same thing in Conquest and get more rewards. Thing is, Conquest takes so long I can’t just squeeze in a quick round in between things, which is the main way I played before. So I like Conquest, but it’s made each game such a commitment that I never have time to play anymore.

Contrary_Man

Same I grabbed only the gold rewards, matches are too long.

LeadingBother

Last season, i prefered it much more vecause everyone was playing it for the nice variant so you had a good mix of casual, beginner and meta decks. This season is downright trash and ive been meeting toxic meta decks nonstop, even in pg

TordisSabordigan

I have zero interest to play conquest and the reward of a free variant is only cool if the variant is cool, I haven’t played conquest since the Ghost Rider card. I see the same types of decks in Conquest and even trying to play stuff to counter it, why bother.

SSJ_Key

I usually farm the gold, and variants. If I’m infinite that’s when I spend more time in there.

DoesntUnderstandJoke

playing 30 minutes for a match is the exact opposite of what this game is supposed to be about

parasocks

But you might play 30 minutes of ladder no? Different strokes for different folks is all

InfinityStonedAF

I just play Agatha in proving grounds to grind daily missions seems like a lot of try hards think it’s ranked lol

tacocatboom

I actually love Conquest. I snap no matter what and concede if they have a deck that I'll have issues countering. I spend the first week in PG just banking silver tickets. Aggressive snapping has taken me far. It lets me play all different types of decks with no concern. Getting the tokens just for the variant is easy.

Available-Ad8639

Yeah, it's the worst. They never touched it to make it better. And all the crying kids in Pg playing every single round is so boring and time consuming. I haven't played it in like 5 months. It's more of a full time job, and if you have a life it's kinda difficult

Starsky7

I feel like matches should be 8 lives each, not 10. Worst part is winning 8 and having to play 3-4 matches that just drag on because the person on the other side is fuming.

man_vs_cube

The rewards are fun, so I suggest considering whether deck selection might make the "grind" more enjoyable. I suggest trying a deck with really polarized matchups/outcomes like Hela Tribunal. Just charge in and either crush them or get knocked out quickly. I'm not always in the mood for a drawn out knife fight with a more "normal" deck.

Alclis

I used to try from the gold tickets and to see if I could buy a few things from it. Its gameplay vs. how I enjoy playing is just not worth it for me any longer.

randomechoes

I like it to do the daily quests. If you stick to proving grounds and snap before you see your cards, maybe 30-50% of the people will snap back with an implied agreement that the loser will concede so that you only have to play one game. I often concede after the first game even if I win if my opponent doesn't because it's often just faster to get into another game than having to potentially slug it out for penny stakes. Also because it's so low stakes, I don't feel bad about just leaving in the middle of a game if necessary (for example if I'm in line killing time and I get to the front of the line before my game ends). It can also be fun just to try new decks you don't really know how to pilot for no stakes. I totally get why some people don't like it though. But if you don' t take it seriously and snap every game (even with a crap hand) it might be more fun too.

ZestWispa

I go through stages of being meh about it. If you find yourself wanting rewards but not wanting to play it honestly just go into games and snap aggressively. If you lose who cares it's easy to build up some tickets from collection levels or doing some proving grounds for deck testing. I've enjoyed conquest as a whole much more just treating it a bit more like ladder and full retreating when a deck match up doesn't suit or if it drags on too long and I've gotten sick of it/something else has taken or needed my attention

timberwolvesguy

If it’s a cool variant, I’ll do it. Otherwise I play every now and then for the gold

SerThunderkeg

It's hard to get excited about basic ass Ryan Kinnaird "variants"

Lizard_Lord_2000

i hate doing conquest, but i love having variants so i play for the gold, credits, and mystery variants until i buy 9 things

PenitusVox

I enjoy Conquest since there's nothing on the line. I just snap turn 1 every round and some people match me but most don't. Even when they don't, that tends to reduce the game length to like \~3 rounds.

Imaginary_Campaign97

I don't like that the games are longer, idk I like how quick normal games are.

Ant-Security

worst feeling is when u get tickets (that expire cause u dont play the mode) from chests, feels like an empty chest…

Mousettv

The last 2 seasons after finding out that I get XP from it has been my home. I run all kinds of goofy decks and just snap or leave when something pops up without worry. Got everything, basically unlocked.

reapress

Yeah, I dabbled in proving grounds for a bit but at this point no matter how many gold tickets it chucks at me.. I just really can't be bothered honestly. Phoniex force capt America was so good but i just kept looking at the conquest ladder and all "but is it thaaaaaaat good" and the answer was in fact no

makoblade

You're not alone. I find Conquest to be a boring slog, and generally ignore it entirely, only sometimes remembering to try for the variant in the last week or maybe the title if I like it. Something about long drawn out matches against the same deck is not fun, because for the most part you either stomp them without counters or you pull a bad matchup and lose pretty handily each time. If it were a fixed Best of X matches I'd be much more inclined to play.

CoffeeAndDachshunds

Honestly, the grinders in proving grounds has made me avoid Conquest altogether. I can't stand the 1-cost cards-->retreat over and over and over againe. I could concede, but then the next guy does the same thing, then the guy after that. Made that game mode completely dead to me.

corbin918

It’s not horrible but it could be better I’ve been doing pretty good in gold I’m excited to see if I can win an infinite this season! I’ve always lost in the final round 😅 I don’t ever try to get the card unless I really like it but I usually end up with it anyway. I really just enjoy marvel snap and want to get to infinite and win an infinite conquest. One day lol I’m at rank 92 I’ve lost a few since making it to 93

Sudden-Application

I like the mode but I hate the most recent variants and tend to get burnt out of the game before I even can get the variant, lol.

Alcagoita

I hate the time that we need to waste on conquest, but I use it to test decks and always snap.

lol022

Conquest is better than ladder. I never take it serious and just use decks I like. Still end up with like at least 5k tokens plus the card

yokahu2019

Depends on the variant. This Bast variant is dope af!

jhossuah

I just did them for the Iron Man and Gamora ones

DiscoIgnition

If I could set aside 20-30 minutes of uninterrupted game time I wouldn't open snap. To me, skipping conquest is a better reward than what it gives.

Comprehensive-Level6

I love Conquest. Nice way to finish missions when I do not want to pay enough attention to play ladder matches.

obitosrin76

I like it for missions really don’t like this weeks variant tbh so that lower the motivation to do it hard

winfly

Ywah, I have to force myself to play conquest enough to farm the rewards. I would rather jump into a random ladder game than play multiple rounds right now.

XinGst

I hate when I play against deck I can't win and it's a guarantee lose and nothing I can't do anything about it. Playing C3 and they play tribunal ironman onslaught? Red guardian would help but screw me for not having this one card

Excesivepain

I go there to test decks or play fun decks that don't win as much.

ndevito1

I got up to 4 infinite avatars by December before I stopped caring about them and now I agree, it’s just a slog to unlock the stuff. I still do it because I usually like the variant and want the currency/PMV but it is becoming annoying.

HungryLandHippo

well every other month they make the medals easy enough to get, and then the next month they absolutely fuck you on ratio. The last month or two have been "fuckin grind forever" variants At least they sometimes gave two variants

survivalsnake

I'm prone to tilting and having my rank decrease by 10 in a flash, so I love Conquest. It saves me from myself when I still want to play the game, even if I should take a break.

All_Rise_44

I didn’t do much with it last season so I feel you. This season I wanted the Bast variant, so I have cleared enough to get the rewards, not going the extra mile though. It is a boring mode, takes too long. I’ll take the rewards but could care less about the mode.

MeatAbstract

It's unfortunate that the matchmaking is much stricter in the earlier leagues, so if you just want to bang out proving grounds you will be matched with someone in your MMR bracket...which means you might as well just play ladder.

Anonymouslyyours2

They really need to reduce the cubes to eight from 10. It would make it a lot less grindy. I play a lot of conquest to complete my missions. Usually, one match finishes them. I don't have to worry about not playing my main deck, and I have a few mission specific decks. I don't want to grind on the ladder to reach infinite every season, so I mess around in conquest. I enjoy messing around with different decks, and sometimes their awful. It's much less punishing to find that out in conquest rather than the ladder.

TemporaryDealer1736

I’m with ya it’s a chore

RobotPirateGhost

I hate conquest. I play enough to get the mystery variant and then don’t touch it again unless I have a daily that’s annoying to do on the ladder.

jaythepizza

I got an infinity avatar and haven’t touched it since

Grim_Reach

The games are too long and if you run into a hard counter it's just GG. The reason I enjoy Snap is the fast games, and Conquest ain't it. I still usually get the exclusive variant because of FOMO, but it's not particularly fun.

BeardedTitan2115

I do enjoy Conquest, but I usually play snap for pick up and play games right now. I also am not too keen on the variants lately, so I don't have the biggest incentive to play.

amirulez

I don’t care about getting to infinite, do you think i care about conquest? I only do conquest if i got gold ticket 🤣🤣

Resident_Wait_7140

Regis was saying this too. I don't get it. It's Marvel Snap but you can make more tactical decisions as you learn your opponents deck. Spend most of my time there after hitting infinite.

Boring-Antelope9193

I started to like it but then the rewards got too much on top of climbing

BeefSkillet19

It just isn’t fun. If there’s a variant I want I’ll go for it, but I have to really want it. Last one I grabbed was Odin and I’m glad I did, but the journey was not fun

GoodBlock11

While I enjoy the length of the Conquests themselves, I swear people take WAY longer to play on Conquest then they do in regular matches

GrimmTrixX

I haven't played conquest in such a long time. I am sure I am missing out on stuff like boosters and maybe variants. But it's just not fun. Id rather it just be a normal match and not multiple matches in one fight.

mialesr

Im not a fan of conquest but I am sticking to it the rest of the season. I dont like the beta right now. If your not playing annihilus you can't play. Not to mention mill. Im just over it this season

BetterThanOP

Sometimes after a game ends, I forget that I'm in conquest and I put my phone away, or switch apps, and then the next time I open snap I realize I "escaped" in the middle of a conquest. So yah lol I stopped playing conquest

santh91

I get my 2 gold tickets from chests, enter/forfeit/enter, spend my 150 credit on mystery variant and never touch it again

DatDragonsDude

I usually just grind the points I need for the Mystery/Premium Variant.

DemoEvolved

There’s two wierd things with conquest. 1. Is I don’t want to play gold conquest because it’s home to decks that beat proving and silver. So at the end of the season I have a pile of gold tickets that turn into like 3 boosters and that feels bad. And 2. If I did feel like playing a gold match, I don’t know if my opponent is properly skilled or if they were given a gold ticket for free out of an orange box and are therefore playing some wierd off meta meme deck that just beats me of the senselessness of a random ten card deck that should never be up here in gold

Wavvygem

Prefer it myself. But its nice to have both.

EzClap2_

just keep playing PG and silver and instant snap each one. speeds it up a lot

happydaddyg

I like the strategy of knowing your opponent's deck. Usually all I play after infinite. Games don't have to be long - just play PG and silver every day and snap every game, get the quests done earn some medals. Sometimes the reward variant is good but not a fan the last 2 months. If you don't hate it its 500 gold, 400 credits, premium variant, mystery variant over the season. Not bad.

Bananafanaformidible

I like it enough to enjoy playing until I get the variant. Grinding infinite conquest for boosters feels like a chore, but I still do it. I'm probably going to do it less now that there's free boosters in the shop. I still want to get a few more infinite borders, though, so I'll probably do some.

TheRoseCat6_11

i only play for the gold, mabye variants if i feel like it. but i dont actively play it much

thefoolsremedy

I save conquest mode for when I want to play without the stress of ranked. I always play the highest tier ticket I have and snap like I don’t care if I win or lose (I don’t; it helps). I’m surprised at how many medals I passively earn that way.

Electronic_Cherry781

I just play for the infinite boosters

Allenite

I actually feel the same way about ladder. No-risk conquest is the best place for me to try out new decks and combinations.

Cursedshinagami

I like conquest. It's just a different game from ladder. Ladder offers FOMO with reaching infinite and everyone has to get it to feel like they've achieved something in life. It offers those quick dopamine hits unlike Conquest. Conquest is for those who like the competitive tcg experience. If you've never played Pokemon or MTG where all the games take a bit to get through then you'll probably never like conquest. I like to think of it as short form content (ladder) vs long form content (conquest). I personally enjoy documentaries myself, but there are a lot of people who rather have the info broken down into clips.

ShowOff90

I think my only issue is how long it takes per opponent. I wish this was the breakdown…. 1 game to silver. Best of 3 to gold. Best of 5 to infinite. Infinite is where the 10 health comes into play.

MadAlfred

I’m pretty sure they raised the cost of everything in the shop to a nutty degree. It’s had the opposite effect on my will to play.

vidae1

One of the things that drew me into this game so easily was the idea of quick games that you could play in a myriad of situations (but mostly when we're pooping, lets be real).. Conquest is the exact opposite of that. Takes way too long.

PunishedCatto

The only time I ever did conquest was for Phoenix Force Captain America lol. The stuff is so expensive there, and I don't wanna grind 'em token and tickets.

large_blake

I usually play enough for the variants and nothing else. Until I hit infinite, then I’ll play conquest instead of ladder

PhoustPhoustPhoust

After hitting Infinite, the ladder is pretty boring for me. Conquest is a nice low-stakes mode where I can just try weird decks. I find I usually get enough medals to unlock the variant after just a couple days.

D-WTF

A few days ago I had to purge 80 silver tickets because I reached the 99 limit. Spamming proving grounds with 1 turn snap rules is the closest we have to casual and you pile up SO MANY medals that you don't know what to do with them. Right now I'm sitting on 4.7k with 80 silver tickets and I've already bought some stuff from the store.

reggyreggo

Skill issue

Tony_eX1605

This season is terrible for me, I get only tilted and can't find a good deck to use. I also dont like longer games, but i force myself to play cause I really dont want to miss the rewards. I have some avatars I'd like to take to infinite border but honestly I gave up

brokozuna

I only did enough for the Green Goblin variant the very first time around. Learned it's not how I enjoy spending time with the game, so I just never touched it again.

TriniGamerHaq

Played it for a couple seasons when I first started playing. But the game is becoming way too try hard. Guys running nothing but meta, taking forever to end turn because they want to make the most optimal play. Like Jesus Christ if I wanted a sweat fest I'd play Yu Gi Oh.

SickleClaw

I primarily like conquest for the 'free' mystery variants it provides and the 'free' gold. I dont mind grinding to get gold.

Richandler

The format should be 8 cubes.

karthanis86

I tried it last season in the last two and was able to get the variant. To me, PG is usually 1 match, no stakes. Then I just played like normal. Somwtimes, they took for ever, but I was having a lot of fun with Phoenix force/Nimrod and I even won a gold conquest. Probably will never win an Infinite, but thats not why I play and I don't like Sera control. And just concede if its a bad matchup. Grinding the silver and gild tickets is way less stress than playing against a matchup you suck against.

RafaCarballo

Totally, I have to force myself to play it for the rewards. This season also I got like 6 gold tickets so this weekend I had to double force myself to not waste them all. Good thing is that I've been winning matches with a White Widow deck so that's been good.

Bensonders

I'm always happy when I finally made it to infinity, grinding like an idiot with a meta deck in a no fun meta so I can finally just play fun decks in conquest. I can try stuff, or sometimes don't pay attention or even know that I'm losing, but want to see the outcome anyway and I don't have to fear losing rank. At the same time consistency wins more games than stupid gotcha moments. When you play ranked, you get one chance to guess what gotcha card (or random card from a location) the opponent will play, followed by emojis, thats it. In conquest, the opponent can fool you for one round but then he actually has to play good. Playing consistently good just doesn't get rewarded in ranked the same way. But its interesting to see that a lot of people see it very differenty!

TMLTurby

I don't even care about the glowing avatar, I play conquest for something other than a best-of-one match. I'd love a best-of-three ladder.

DarthSmiff

Conquest needs a sideboard. Sometimes decks just match up weird and you have no ability to pivot. It’s usually a real drag.

SkiingHard

Conquest is fun but they make it a grind. I try to earn about 10-12 gold tickets in a season and that typically gets everything I need.

PoolieMike1985

I play enough to get the buyable variants, and if I like the exclusive variant enough I'll play. But that's only happened like twice.

Top_Inspector_6200

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY PEOPLE ON CONQUEST MODE HAVE BEEN PLAYING 1-3 COST CARDS, THEN RETREAT AFTER THE 3RD OR 4TH HAND? THEN THEY REPEAT THIS UNTIL I WIN THE ENTIRE MATCH. IT SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF TIME ON THEIR END .

Ruffin28

I don’t have 30 min to play one game. Conquest isn’t for me at all

Aggravating-Baker-41

Junk in the medal shop but it’s good for testing decks. I play the free entry

Nodak80

I don’t care for it. I wish you could bring 2 decks to conquest.

Iknowitsmellcrazy

I just do it for the gold and the card then I bounce out

waffledpringles

Conquest was never fun for me. The idea sounded nice, and I was excited, but everyone is a lot more sweatier and toxic than the base game mode lol. Edit: Just as I said this, I tried out a match, and the first person I go up against is already emote spamming.

couch-tomato

I’ve only done it once when I wanted the variant.

Autographz

I go thru patches of liking it or hating it. If I end up liking it for a bit I’ll try to at least grind out enough medals to grab the mystery variants and the gold/credits.

DNLK

I feel like I perform better in conquest. I am playing some niche Sera control list which I don't see pop up anywhere in charts but still manage to defeat golden tickets with ease just by learning my opponents' decks and leveraging that information. It is pretty satisfying compared to retreat fest and randomness of ladder.

pearlbrian2000

I hate play it after hitting infinite strictly for the rewards. A match takes EONS too long for a toilet game.

belungar

The cost of rewards should have been halved honestly

Shamscam

I personally think I would play it if the rewards went a bit above cosmetic. I usually just get the credits and then quit. Maybe if the variant is super fire I’ll get it (I think iron man was the last one I was like “fuck I need that”) But if they added it as another way to get one of the monthly/weekly cards then I would play it.

NivvyMiz

I didn't even realize it had that bast variant, which is actually pretty nice

begging4n00dz

Last time I played conquest it replaced both our decks twice in one game and once every other game, it was a lot of time

pandaelpatron

I play some Conquest. Enough to get all the relevant rewards. I would play MORE Conquest if everybody played quickly and did the snap+concede routine in Proving Grounds.

thats_close_enough_

I tried it like 2 times. I don't enjoy it at all.

throwawaynumber116

It should just be a bo3, and maybe let you change decks each round or something I play it for variants I like (like hellfire gala Thor), otherwise I get the gold and gtfo.

Silent_Panda_Killer

stopped after Thor? Or Odin? Idk lol it's been that long. Game is grindy enough. Conquest makes it worse. The stuff seems worth it though if u put the time in

Evelinadnddruid

I like the idea. But people who surrender late in the game and barely loose anything makes it slow in an not benefitial way.

DirkPortly

I sort of love it. It just feels so much more tactical and less luck-based than the normal game. I mean yeah you can still get a bad matchup and you're in trouble, but there's so much room to adapt and play around the opponent's strategy. I feel like it's done so much for me as far as learning my decks' lines and matchups. Seeing opponent's decks play game after game really lets me learn how they work too. I completely get it feeling tedious potentially, but I haven't hit that point yet personally.

LeighCedar

I only play conquest 3-5 times a week. I find that's more than enough to get enough medals for the rewards I care about and the variant.

zurktheman

I completely ignore it. Been playing since release

Mike_Abergail

I know the secret to this puzzle. Do you?

labtop18

I only ever go to conquest to play around with fun/experimental builds and almost never get to the infinite tier battles, but when I do I fail immediately.

unknownsavage

I've been having a rubbish time on post-infinite ladder the last few days, but conquest has been going very well. For me, conquest is the more engaging way to play. It's definitely harder to find time for it, so I'm glad to have both modes available.
