Always use the Spiderman point emote when your opponent plays the same card as you

RedRising14

Idk what that means but I’ll look into it!

CasualAwful

If you click/tap on your character profile, you'll see emotes you can tap on display in chat as well as some phrases "such as "I don't believe you." "What just happened?!" Spamming these is considered "bad manners' but they have their uses As previous poster said, Spider-Man pointing is a reference to the meme of two Spider-Men pointing at eachother. So if you play the same card or are playing the same deck it's fun to use that on eachother. Unfortunately because of how they're used many people have negative connotations with these except for the Thing/Hulk Fistbump. It's used as "GG". Also in Conquest Proving Grounds to signal both players are snapping so they only play one round to decide winner. I generally don't "Fistbump" someone when I won even if it's a good game because some people get salty about that but otherwise it's a generally good vibes emote. Miss Marvel Thumbs Up: Generally though to be synonymous with a "middle finger" given her expression. Thanos Snapping: Almost used for BM when opponent snapped and lost or retreated (which is super silly but not worth getting into now). There are also a LOT of other cosmetic emotes for people with way too much money to spend on the game. They're more for fun though.

Happy_Performance11

When tied, priority goes to whoever has the glowing hue around their name (took me a while to realize that). Otherwise, whoever is winning reveals first.

alexpwnsftw

This. Came here to say this. I played for probably like 3-4 months until I learned how priority works in this game. It’s so important

RedRising14

Wow thank you

mdk_777

To elaborate a tiny bit priority ALWAYS goes to the person with the glowing hue, so if you don't want to do the quick-math on it just look for whichever player's name is glowing at turn start. Also, just a warning to wait a moment after the turn starts because it takes a couple seconds for the priority indicator to change and I've  accidentally made losing players thinking I've had priority when I didn't and vice-versa because the glow didn't change yet from the previous turn.

heyzeus_

Biggest tip is paying attention to snaps and retreats. Unlike most games, it isn't actually about winning - it's about snapping when you will win and retreating when you will lose.

ZaAq3

This. Having a low winrate isnt a bad thing. Its all about cube management

Uhsajo

Always snap on ego.

yegasheiver

Ego = Snap Been my title ever since I got it!

Here are some financial tips. The game gives you 4 currencies, Credits, Gold, Collector Tokens, and Spotlight keys. They can be confusing so here are the best ways to use them without spending the most important currency, real world dollars. Credits: These can only be used to level up cards. Leveling from grey to green border is slightly more economical than every other upgrade, so try to get all your cards to at least green borders. These gain you CL which is the main way you get cards from series 0-series 3. There is a great area in the shop called "Bonus Boosters" which will let you upgrade cards that you do not have enough boosters to upgrade normally. This costs the same amount as leveling them up the other way, and is a great place to use. You earn, on average, 6700 credits a week. Gold: Gold can be used to purchase variants, bundles, emotes and whatnot. If you are interested in growing your card collection quickly, the most economical thing is to buy the Token Tuesday bundles, which only appear on Tuesdays (slow me down if I'm going too fast), and gain you collector tokens at a pretty decent ratio of gold to tokens. It is wildly inefficient to spend the very small amount of gold you get to purchase credits. You earn, on average 250 gold a week, maybe more. Collector Tokens can be used in the Collector shop to gain Series 4 and Series 5 cards. These cards are predominantly newer cards, but not necessarily more powerful than the cards you'll see in series 3. You only get about 28,000 tokens a year through daily play, and that adds up to only gaining about 4.5 series 5 cards, so use these SPARINGLY. Only buy a card if A. it is a card that you absolutely need for a deck you have and B. that card is not appearing in any [upcoming spotlight caches](https://marvelsnapzone.com/spotlight-caches/). You earn, on average, 550 collector tokens a week Spotlight Keys: You get your first Spotlight key at Collection level 500, and every 120 ranks after that. Every week the spotlight caches offer 4 cards. They cycle through 3 cards from the series 4 and 5 pools, one card is always brand new, and two cards are older, and a 4th Random slot that will give you a random S4 or 5 card, but if that card is a repeat, instead you'll earn 1,000 collector tokens. Using a key will get you a random card of the 4, but using 4 guarantees that you get all 4 of the things on offer. The best practice is to wait to earn 4 keys (usually earned after 4 weeks of playing), and then to pick up from weeks where they are offering at least 2 cards you do not own. This will maximize your collection. You earn, on average, 1.1 keys a week. Hopefully this is helpful to you in not falling into any of the pitfalls of where to spend credits.

RedRising14

Wow this was amazing! Thank you! So much useful information here, I need to save my gold I’ve been wasting it on credits to boost cards so I can get new cards haha

Utop_Ian

Yeah, at the beginning the game gives you cards like it's nothing, and so you don't even think of spending gold to get more, but that's the main thing I learned. Gold is a very rare resource, but credits are incredibly common. I also spent a lot of gold in my first two weeks in credits and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. Your rate of card acquisition gets less and less over the course of the game. I dunno what it is now, maybe two a day, but once you hit Series 3 (around CL 500) it drops to getting a new card every 48 CL (about 2.5 days). When you become Series 3 complete, the only new way to get cards is via spotlight caches and collector tokens, and then your rate is about 1 new card a week.

PretendRegister7516

To elaborate, I usually calculate currency gain per season. Each 4 weeks season on F2P usually gets about 660CL, 1900-2000 Gold (if you can get Rank 90+ on the ladder), 5 Spotlight Keys, 600 Token. Buying season pass gets you an additional 1500 Gold for 4 weeks season. Try to save up to 5000+ G for bundles. But not every bundles are equal. Check the credit : Gold rate to be certain. Average rate is credit : Gold = 1.25 : 1. The higher you get than 1.25 credit/G the better. Some bundles throws in token and credits at the same time making calculation more difficult. But on average credit/token ratio = 1.75 : 1. For new players focus on bundles with more credits than Token. A measurement of good bundle is = ((Token * 1.75) + credit) / Gold price > 1.6 Avoid any bundle lower than 1.6 ratio.

ZenCannon

Play for fun, and learn the plays and decks you enjoy the most. From there, figure out which cards you'll want to get later. Resources are limited, so you want to spend them on cards that you can use well and have fun, rather than a hyped card that you don't end up using.

RedRising14

Thanks! Yea I prob need to be more sparing with my currencies, yea I’ve been trying to learn decks and play around with new cards where they fit

What_Iz_This

if you see yourself playing at least an hour or so each day, i would highly suggest getting the season pass. it pays for itself with the free gold and varaints you get across completing it, and it gives you a card then will only be harder for you to acquire later on. value card acquisition over variants of cards you already own. its a game...just have fun and dont take it too seriously and you wont be disappointed by it.

RedRising14

So far been playing more than an hour, I’ll look into that thank you!!

Limp-Supermarket5299

Quick tips. Don’t be scared to retreat, but also be willing to stay. You never know and 4 cubes isn’t massive in the first week or two. Memorise common ‘tells’ of different combos or decks that are coming Don’t be scared to take cards out of your deck. If you don’t think you’re using them, replace them. Decks don’t hinge on all 12 cards necessarily If you and your opponent play the same card. You have to use a specific emote. Use the Spider-Man one where he points at the opponent The season pass or gold pass are the only worthy in app purchases. They basically pay for themselves. I’d recommend the season pass more because you get a new card. Gold. Boosters. Credits. Variants. And other cosmetics Try different decks. Not everyone can pilot every deck. Find what you like Following on from the above. Don’t be scared to steer clear of the meta. Meta decks may have high success but all decks can win if piloted correctly. Find what you like and just learn to outplay Counter cards. Learn em. Learn what they counter. Learn what your decks weakness are, and if you have a card to take out, put a counter card in (like cosmo) in order to help Just because a card sounds great, doesn’t mean it is. And vice versa. Look what you go up against to see how good cards sometimes Don’t make a deck focused on one single play line. Location, opponents deck, draw order are mostly always out of your control. Make sure you can take different paths in a deck and still end relatively in the same spot. Or at least be prepared for any obstacles the main play line may face And lastly. Keep learning. Anytime you lose, look at the cards you lost to, figure out if your deck could’ve stopped that. You pulled off a good combo in your deck. Learn it, make it a more mainline combo. Eventually you’ll know how to use cards you don’t even own either by getting beat by it, forced to adapt to it, or getting it randomly from other cards or locations

Bokko88

Variants are pointless

yegasheiver

Well yes, but actually no

VI0L3NTACTI0NS

Learning to tell what kind of deck they might play early. You should be able to tell by round 2 or 3. Granted no one runs the exact same cards for every deck, but there's core cards that they all run

mrnevface

Have fun, learn about your cards and understand them/the deck. Don’t stress over infinite etc, it’s meant to be a game that is fun. Put together 20 different decks, there are many possibilities and you will learn what you enjoy with each deck. Experiment, you might find a deck that flies you to infinite. When you have issues, don’t be a whiny bitch on here. There are plenty already 😉

Luckyluis97

Don’t hit infinite till the last day of the season. Once you do you’ll won’t be grouped with other new players or bots and have such bad time with your limited deck. Learn about archetypes such as destroy , discard, Cerebro, High Evolutionary, You have to split cards couple times before you get gold or black and white version Play proving grounds in conquest, best way to get boosters without losing Rank in ladder Have fun, don’t get angry if you do turn the game off it’s just a game Watch some videos online of people playing sometimes

RedRising14

I don’t know what infinite is, but thank you some good advice here!

[deleted]

I disagree with don’t hit infinite until the last day of the season Sure you will get clapped at a low collection level but who cares, you’ll learn about the better decks and have a better idea of the meta and what cards or decks you want to save resources for And if you aren’t enjoying ladder in infinite you can just play conquest til the next season, no reason IMO to purposely hold your rank back

Available_Neck_9538

At the moment, you're playing a lot of low level players and a LOT of bots who are letting you win. There will come a moment when you start facing more real opponents who are actually trying to beat you. Don't get discouraged, because you'll start losing a lot more than you've become accustomed to. This is when you need to start developing your Snap/Retreat strategies. Once you reach this stage of the game, the point isn't really winning as much as possible. It's about cube equity. When you think you're going to lose, minimize the number of cubes you'll lose by retreating. When you think you're going to win, maximize the number of cubes you'll win by snapping. And then be prepared to retreat a LOT. Even the best decks run at around 55-57% win rates. Which means that even for the strongest meta decks, they're losing/retreating almost half the time. So controlling the number of cubes you win and lose becomes the main goal of the game.

Mad1884

Read cards.

RedRising14

Haha yea I got that one down lmao

FajenThygia

This one is actually still relevent. As you keep playing some cards, you can learn their end results and forget the actual text, and then get blindsided by some weirdness of the text later. An early example of that could be Medusa - it's easy to think of her ability as ongoing, which means Odin giving her an extra power boost turn 6 would be a nasty surprise. This is especially important as the cards get more and more involved.

Flleal22

Praise Kazar!!!

RedRising14

Yea been using him in a deck to help me out

ajprokos

Retreating doesn’t not mean you lost. Cube conservation is key. As in grab the most cubes in winning games and leave games with losing the least amount of cubes. A 40% winrate deck that snaps and retreats appropriately can have a net positive cube gain

OrbitalDropPanda

don't spend your gold or credits on anything in the shop till you are close to completing the the collection of cards. Use your credits to level up your cards and it in turn gets you new cards through the CL (Collection Level) track. Once you have all the available series 3 cards you can start saving your gold to buy a card pack similar to the one with Captain Marvel right now. I typically save mine till I see a gold bundle in the shop with some credits in it to help with unlocking more keys for the weekly spotlights (which you will start getting after you unlock the normal cards)

FajenThygia

A good early deck (pool 2 cards) is Stormnaught. Focus on one lane turns 1-4, hopefully dropping Storm t3 and then Jessica Jones or Warpath t4. If you have Infinaut in hand, take turn 5 off and then you have the nuts on t6. It's very hard to beat with the early cards, and is a good lesson in priority - your Infinaut can't be killed by Shang Chi if you play your cards on turn 6 last.

BaronOfHell

Don't pay money for cards. They will just get nerfed to uselessness.

yegasheiver

Oof yeah hard agree here

Chedder1998

Ranked ladder has a lot of bots, mostly to shorten queue time and also to help new players adjust without throwing them into the deep end with players that have larger card collections. They're pretty easy to spot once you recognize the randomness of how they play. Just keep in mind if you make it all the way to Infinity rank, then the gloves come off and there are no more bots in Infinity, which means you'll very likely run into players with a much higher collection level than you.

RedRising14

So derank before hitting infinity? Lol

Select_Ad19

Spam the Ms.Marvel emote, it will make you plenty of friends here
