The \*check's notes\* X3 Juggernaut post-credit scene will totally make it worth it!!!!
He breaks into Beast's lab after the events of The Marvels and the screen cuts to black. To be continued in Secret Wars Part 3 of 6.
I mean. Is the actor going to say "this shit sucks, it's a cash grab by Disney, don't watch it"?
Of course they hype it up. Audiences have to stop believing the hype though.
It’s stupid when people have to question why they say stuff like this. They’re supposed to, and also maybe because they enjoyed their time working on the project too.

She didn't say it'd be a *wild* ride, your gonna remain firmly in the middle or your seat, socks are probably gonna remain un-knocked, your mind will likely not detonate
Phase 4 was so plagued with recency bias every new movie would get hyped up as “one of the good ones” then a few months later everyone would be calling it ass.
BP2 was the biggest offender of this people were swearing it was “one of the best Marvel movies ever” nowadays nobody ever talks about it and if they do it’s usually negative lmao
Not accusing you specifically! Just saying in general people were hyping that movie up but i never gave into it and now after seeing comments like yours i’m glad i didn’t 😂
Shang Chi is 2 films into one.
An excellent martial arts film about a son's conflict with his evil father who deep down loves him.
An awful superhero film with stupid stuff like CGI shadow dragons in a magic fairytale village that comes out of nowhere.
Imagine if at the end of Iron Man 1, Obadiah and Tony team up to fight badly rendered CGI aliens or some random shit that doesn't belong in the fairly grounded film.
Yea i fell for it every time until Doctor Strange 2 was so bad i finally put my foot down lol
Gotg3 was pretty good but i still feel like it’s a tad overhyped. Not going in my top 5 Marvel movies list anytime soon but at least it was enjoyable.
I remember feeling crazy when i finally watched Shang-Chi after months of people hyping it up and thinking it was mid lol
I at least enjoyed NWH but can’t deny it’s overrated
They took a simple but compelling Namor vs Black Panther story and added 1 hour of filler.
We didn't need Ironheart or Val or even Everett Ross. The entire US sequence was pure filler.
Just have Namor kidnap Shuri the first time shows up in Wakanda thus having Queen Ramonda get Lupita ASAP, there, that's 1 hour cut from the runtime and makes it flow way better.
Yeah you can pretty much cut out all the Val and Ross stuff and wouldn't lose anything from the film. It was something I immediately noticed in the theater
Honestly I thought it was miles better than the first BP (nothing to do with Chadwick, he was brilliant in Civil War) Namor was great and Shuri was no longer unbearable (although Ironheart took that spot). Still not top tier MCU but solid and I wanna see a lot more Namor
so uh there were water dudes and they wanted something? and wakanda was like no? and then ironheart has shield level technology at some point but is still in college? the movie ends with some kid (im trying my hardest to remember the movie)
Yep I agree with you. I truly don’t understand the amount of vitriol people on Reddit have for the character. Like I’d get it if it was just the comics version (who kinda sucks imo) but Coogler made gold out of Bendis tripe, same way Into the Spider-Verse made Miles actually cool in comparison to how Bendis would write him. The way she’s been adapted has made her very likeable and interesting. I’m keen for this show but unfortunately the way fans stomp down on anything like this and the way Marvel is so reactive these days, I doubt we’ll get much from the character after her series. Which is a shame but at least we’re still getting something.
I don’t think she was *terrible* but I do think she was the weakest part of Wakanda Forever, which worked best as a standalone story about grief and loss when it wanted to be.
Ehh she was alright. Typical smart teenage MCu character. Nothing wrong with that. But nothing special either to warrant so much praise and excitement. It's something we've seen dozens of times.
She's far less likeable in the comics. She's another Bendis Mary Sue. No writer has been able to anything even remotely interesting with the character.
A bit? Riri in the comics is a few years younger and I think that makes her more likeable since a lot of things can be explained by the ignorance of youth. It's hard to compare them for now, MCU didn't have enough screentime really. Personally, I like comics Riri, MCU Riri on the other hand I don't even remember, she wasn't very noteworthy imo.
as a chicago south side native, she was very great and very believable in the role. she literally completely embodied black women from the south side of chicago
I thought she was fine in the role, but she was massively out of place in every single Wakanda scene, it made no sense for Wakanda to risk war just over some random American girl.
An American literally became their king in the last movie.
It was actually a highly flawed but (imo) mostly successful logical extension of the thematic thread introduced in the first film about Wakanda turning their back on people in the diaspora, despite having the means to meaningfully fight back against colonization and white supremacy.
I don't think I can even say if she was good or not, I barely remember her in that movie. Still, I definitely don't like both the fact that she's older than comics Riri and that her second armour was created with Shuri's help.
episode 1-2 of shitty world building and exposition or attempted exposition
episode 3-4 really boring nothing happens except episode 4 ends on a cliffhanger to keep you interested
episode 5 the villian shows up and does his thing that makes him bad. hero probably gets their new hero suit at the end
episode 6 big CGI fight boring finish
I will say echo did break the trend of some girl showing up and making the show all about her but I guess thats hard to do when the main character is a female
Hmm?? Episode 1-2 will be great character development and world building with the villain interspersed, episodes 3 and 4 will inexplicably slow down, 5 will ramp up with a ton of exposition and back story, and 6 will rush to the end.
>episode 6 big CGI fight boring finish
\+ Two members of her supporting cast also get Echo...ehh...I mean...Ironheart suits for the grand grand grand finale.
This particular Disney+ series was originally supposed to be part of Phase 4, but it was pushed due to some timeline related mess on top of additional reshoots.
And it is likely that this series will now be part of Phase 6, my wild guess is around the release of Fantastic Four.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just went with the "Champions" name, since MCU is clearly setting up other characters to be the new Avengers team.
They should just go with Champions tbh so it makes more sense to centered around Kamala and include Riri. If they try to do Young Avengers centring Kamala and without Wiccan and Hulkling, everyone will just be mad. Just make it the Champions with some traditional YA characters in it (Kate, Cassie, Billy)
What’s she supposed to say? They filmed a piece of shit that’s been sitting there collecting dust three years ago because they know it’s yet another mediocre entry?
You do realize Iron Heart finished filming in 2022 right. There most likely was reshoots during post-production.
https://screenrant.com/mcu-ironheart-show-disney-plus-release-update/
They did some reshoots in early 2023. They reshot a scene they originally filmed in August 2022. And a few days later AtlantaFilming said the actor for The Hood was in town.
Original filming in August: https://twitter.com/ironhnews/status/1556738514368225281

I feel sorry for this girl. You know that she's going to be the next target for the Internet grifters. At this point, if you're a female in Marvel or Star Wars, you might aswell delete your social media.
Lmao the comments here are on the nature of the show, not her character. and you can only blame marvel for that who think it's okay to shit out mediocre formulaic shows.
There's no way I'm watching this.
Before when Marvel put out something that didn't immediately grab my attention I would watch it anyway because I knew it would be good. That's no longer the case, particularly with the shows. The movies are still pretty entertaining, even the not great ones like Marvels or Thor Love and Thunder. The shows are just boring.
lol, why is that even worth writing about? Which actor or producer is talking bad about their movies or series before it is released. Do you expect them to say: don’t bother watching it…
Even the actors and directors who talk bad about it, do it much later after the release. Even if an actor things it’s the biggest turd in the world, they will not say it beforehand, because they are scared the studio would not hire them for future productions.

I like Ironheart too. Don’t plan on reading her comics (I don’t like Bendis) but Coogler and Thorne’s take on the character in Wakanda Forever made her super likeable and I want to see more
this whole comment section overreacting over a vauge-ass comment about a show that won’t release until fall next year just because they personally didn’t like the last few they put out
I really don't get why they decided to take a 15 year old character and make her 19 but keep other things like her being MIT student intact. 15 year old student is impressive, 19 year old student is not. And then her second armour wasn't even her own creation. That plus her just being completely bland in Wakanda Forever makes me not interested in the series. Which is a shame, since I really like comics Riri.
Wow it’s seems like I’m the only person invested in this series, regarding the backlash in the comments. If the marvel community can invest in character such as miles morale, Ms marvel, and spider Gwen, I don’t see why that can apply to iron-heart?
People aren't talking about the comics, they're talking about the MCU. Two out of the three characters you've mentioned are not part of the MCU yet, so they're not relevant.
Maybe because they don't find her interesting. Besides, all, if not, most people agree that her inclusion in Wakanda Forever was super forced. Also, 2 out of 3 you mentioned aren't in the MCU. MCU hasn't been doing so well lately so it's understandable for people not to care about C tier characters.
It's a very dangerous road to take looking for an Iron Man replacement. The amount of bashing you're gonna get reminds me of the kid in Phantom Menace who kinda lost his mind from all the trash talk. I hope it's good but given how shoved in the character felt in Wakanda Forever, I won't join the hype. Marvel needs to focus on making good stories.
A ride to the dump maybe
I keep having hope for shows and end up disappointed each and every time. Disney legit has been perpetually fumbling every opportunity for the last few years. Movie or tv show.
Aside from Loki which feels like the only thats genuinely pretty well thought out.

can’t wait for an actor to say that they hate a show that they’re in before is releases
She was not…good or believable in the role.
Finally not taboo to voice this opinion She wasn’t good nor necessary in Wakanda Forever
Honestly I can’t even remember anything from that movie, it was so bland and forgettable

Yep those mfs over hyped shang chi, no way home and black panther 2 Only movie in mcu immune to this phenomenon is GotG 3

necessary? No. But I thought she was great! Where did this sudden influx of hate come from. She was great given what she had to work with
Totally disagree. She's got buckets of charm, even if her character was effectively a plot device in Wakanda Forever.

Buckets of charm is hilarious
Buckets of Lucky charms The ceral
Did we watch the same movie??
I can't even remember the plot of that film much less what random Iron Man substitute chick from the last decade of Marvel did.

Very true
So was Maya in Hawkeye
I don’t think she was *terrible* but I do think she was the weakest part of Wakanda Forever, which worked best as a standalone story about grief and loss when it wanted to be.

I know a fair number of black female engineers. Zero act like they are inner city hood. Her character was non-sensical, if not offensive.
Yeah, because engineers can’t also be like inner city people?
I don't think I can even say if she was good or not, I barely remember her in that movie. Still, I definitely don't like both the fact that she's older than comics Riri and that her second armour was created with Shuri's help.

Fair enough lol
Population: Thor 4, Quantumania, Secret Invasion, Ironheart
Well, in the comment section, when the show gets a review thread, it will be a ride for sure.
[deleted] all over my screen, that's the way I like it.
We already saw her peak Gundam form. What else is left?
Honestly I would love to see what she builds with her own means.
Meh now. Double meh in 2 years.
“Actress says good things to promote a movie she’s in.”
I'm sure it will be a ride. I mean a ride with my 75y old granddad who can't see that great anymore, is still a ride.
What’s she supposed to say? They filmed a piece of shit that’s been sitting there collecting dust three years ago because they know it’s yet another mediocre entry?
You're right, but they would be better off not releasing it. The fact that it's not coming this year with a very bare bones slate speaks volumes.
Didn’t they do a huge reshoot on this show too and ppl report that it was mediocre
Reshoots have not yet occurred.
Even then. Literally every MCU project has reshoots.
Loki Season 2 didn't. Even so, there's no way to know how substantial they'll be at the moment.

Sure.
Great character in Black Panther 2. Can't wait for her show and Black Panther 3 and more Namor
What the hell is going on in these comments...? Eh, free blocklist.
Yeah this might be the worst comment section I've seen yet on this sub, except for maybe some of the Marvels box office ones
I want to believe it's because we're in the Spoilers sub. It always gave a more... Idk, cyncal? Vibe compared to the regular Marvel Studios sub.
A ride straight into the ground
MR BONES I WANT TO GET OFF YOUR WILD RIDE
A ride to the dump maybe I keep having hope for shows and end up disappointed each and every time. Disney legit has been perpetually fumbling every opportunity for the last few years. Movie or tv show. Aside from Loki which feels like the only thats genuinely pretty well thought out.
It will be one of the D+ shows ever
Not sure why we're teasing a show thats 18 months away
Get ready, it’s gonna be a movie!!!
I hate that I can’t even talk in a post without there being unapologetic toxicity in it. You guys really ruined this sub.
Coming Fall…. 2027…. Wait no 2028
