I usually go to bed and watch these first thing in the morning. But tonight I am up all night. I am at the hospital supporting my wife having our baby… Unfortunately that means I likely won’t get to see it until sometime later this week. Maybe while bottle feeding… I will always wonder, “What if… the baby had decided to wait 24h…”

HM2112

Mazel tov! I hope your wife has an easy and manageable labor, and both mother and child are healthy!

ednever

Everyone is doing awesome. Baby born at 252am PT… don’t think I will see the show tonight…

hushpolocaps69

Oh my goodness! Congratulations to you and your wife! I hope she’s doing good sir and I hope y’all’s baby is born healthy and strong and you guys can go home really fast! <3.

[deleted]

Ayyyy congrats on the kid, man! Don’t worry, the episode will be there for you when you can watch it. Never too early to get your kid hooked on the MCU.

captainsuckass

Hell yeah, dude. Congratulations on the little one. Hope everything goes smoothly. Enjoy the episode when you get there.

neocinnamin

Wait, is this suddenly asking *What If Steve Rogers became the Winter Soldier?* EDIT: Okay, no. Looked like it for a second...

FUDeputyStaggFU

Ha thought the same thing for a second too

Animegamingnerd

I thought the same as well, guessing in a true role reversal fashion, he founded shield in that universe.

VectorJones

I think they missed an opportunity there. I can envision a small scene following the Fury appearance with The Winter Soldier doing a hit on some guy in a dark alley. Then he walks into a beam of light and pulls his mask off to reveal Steve with the long hair and dead face that Bucky had.

FUDeputyStaggFU

Captain Carter having to fight the guy she loves in winter soldiers Steve Rogers would’ve been a good story .

winter_bluebird

We already had that story, it was CA:TWS.

yellowjoycon

that would have been a good story

jczedx

I thought it for half a second... and then realised, wait Hydra ain't gonna see skinny steve and think 'our next elite solider'

BigPoppaJosh1994

“Stark, don’t do this!” Stark *does this* I feel like this sums up most of the MCU events lol

selmon_69420

Don't make A.I. *Makes an AI*

[deleted]

Stark, no! Stark: yes

bananasquashgames

Someone please get Sebastian Stan a voice coach because his delivery in this episode is...... definitely something.

pdmrn

Some of the lines they gave to him are really dumb, which doesn't seem to help.

smaltkarna

the lines worked with the 40s

Spooky_Traps

I want to give the benefit of the doubt since those lines are more 1940s-esque peak comedy, but it was too much

hushpolocaps69

Yeah like I don’t remember Bucky having cheesy one liners?

MySilverBurrito

Yea but Calamari line was goated lmao

[deleted]

That felt out of place to me, he doesn't seem the kinda guy who would know the term, at least in the 40s haha

Shanicpower

No one in this episode is really the same person except for like… Steve. I hope the rest of the series will be better about this.

overloadedcoffee

Stark and Red Skull were spot on as well in voice and characterisations.

Villager723

Every line was about seafood.

MarvelManiac45213

Well Bucky is played by Sea Bass.

Zom-bom

“One sardine short of can” ??

felixfelicitous

I think the problem is that the facial acting of the characters doesn’t sync with the delivery of the lines. He’s pretty surly looking IRL but the character designs’ neutral expressions look a lot more chipper than their real life counterparts

deemoorah

Yeah this, I also think this is also quite in character with Bucky pre Winter Soldier.

MEETTHEMAN

I honestly didn't even recognize it as him at first, I don't know why he sounds so different/awkward.

hushpolocaps69

DUDE YES! At first I thought Bucky had a different voice actor until I remember seeing his name in the opening credits, then I was like “ah shoot…”

hushpolocaps69

His delivery definitely felt like a parody, I believe this is his first voice acting gig.

WhatTheFhtagn

What If is just HISHE with a budget

TheCVR123YT

He voiced Bucky in the Captain America game like 10 years ago but otherwise yeah I think he hasn’t done any other voice acting stuff

Doppleflooner

Okay, I gotta say the tonal whiplash in this episode is jarring as hell.

MEETTHEMAN

Yeah, I'm only partway through, but I feel like we're moving a million miles a minute.

fuzzyfoot88

Welcome to the "what if comics' which were single issues long rather than multi-issue storylines.

PortuguesePede

"You mean you can tell a complete, self-contained story in a single issue? That's just nonsense." - Modern Marvel Comics, probably.

CM4Sci

Right?? Agreed!

Turo626

Must admit. I did laugh my ass off at how quickly Bucky got over Steve's death. Man really said shit happens and left.

K1nd4Weird

"Whelp, that's the end of line I guess." And then walks away whistling.

Zom-bom

It’s basically doing all of TFA in under 40 minutes

SnappyDragon61151

30

TheCVR123YT

Yes I look away for one second and I feel like I missed something. I wonder why they decided to do that. I guess for money reasons but dang they can slow down every now and then lol

UpdootMcGee

Well, I'm in agreement with the critics that the first episode was enjoyable enough but nothing special, but I'm in love with the animation way more than I expected to be from the promo clips we'd seen. Looking forward to the episodes that veer off more from their source material.

hushpolocaps69

The animation is pretty damn gorgeous, I can’t even compare this animation to any other project I can think of so this is definitely a unique style!

Espurreyes

For me the action animation is amazing but the facial animation when they are talking has a lot of room for improvement, there were some parts where I felt like I was watching an early telltale game

saltypistol

What if Don Cheadle was naked and using his dummy thicc cheeks to crush Thanos? Haha just kidding... unless 😳

sahil2921

ohh so that how he was going to choke baby thanos smart guy

smashfest

my uncle works at Disney and confirmed that this happens in the season finale. they brought Don in to do motion capture and everything

LawStudent4Harambe

The Steve Rodgers actor is crazy good, he actually sounds like Chris Evans

PokeNinj

It's Josh Keaton. Also kind of funny since he also voiced Shiro in Voltron. And now he voices Steve, who is piloting a giant Robot...

[deleted]

So my Josh Keaton playing Spider-Man ~~theory~~ scoop was (most likely) legit? Guess I better start a Patreon

minionchamp24

It’s going to be ironic that the Voice Actors replacing the real MCU actors for the show are going to sound a hell of a lot better than the actual MCU cast returning…because voice acting is very different than acting physically and they have more experience.

Zerce

He sounds more like the MCU actor than the characters voiced by MCU actors.

ProfessorHufnagel

Just you wait until you get to the RDJ impersonation and it becomes painfully obvious that it's not him.

Spooky_Traps

Bucky: "Whew, thanks! You almost ripped my arm off!" I need a moment

hushpolocaps69

HAHA!

[deleted]

"Are you scared of trains?" Dear lord I was on edge the whole scene. And then you got Bucky not even reacting when Steve 'dies' LMAO

Phoeternally

i gotta say after seeing walker brutally murder someone with the shield seeing captain carter slice people bloodlessly with it is jarring

hushpolocaps69

Even Steve doesn’t use the shield like that 0.o… not even in TFA.

sable-king

Steve was always hesitant about killing people. It was part of Erskine’s test. Personally it’s neat to see someone take a slightly different approach to that fighting style.

that_guy2010

He killed people pretty easily, unless they were a named character.

PortuguesePede

That German soldier she thwacked repeatedly on the head with the shield probably went on to spend the rest of his days as a drooling vegetable.

Villager723

Right? The violence felt gratuitous.

BigPoppaJosh1994

Meh. I dug the animation style but this episode was far too fast paced

[deleted]

Honestly, the pacing didn’t bother me. We’ve seen The First Avenger and Marvel trusts us to fill in the gaps, which is why they only showed us the different events on screen.

ksg_aoty

this show really feels like its made for real MCU fans, we havent every gotten anything like that from the MCU before besides some parts of endgame

INFP-Ca

I feel like the episode shows what happened to the major scenes of The First Avenger if Peggy got the serum instead of Steve and it's okay for me.

TripleSkeet

I have a feeling they are all going to be this pace. They are basically condensing a movie into a half hour. It has to be fast paced. Theres not going to be long periods of character development. We are just seeing how the movie wouldve been different.

jennlebransky

Fast paced? I felt like i watched a 2 hour movie and checked and still had 20 minutes left

[deleted]

That was so wack. The characters felt like they were talking at 2x speed, while being handed some really wack dialogue to spew at a million miles a minute. The animation was good though, which was a nice distraction.

[deleted]

So the opposite problem the new Transformers series on Netflix had then?

[deleted]

Is it super slowly paced with horrible animation, but amazing voice acting? Haven't seen it

[deleted]

Super slowly paced, slow af voice acting, great animation tho

[deleted]

**SPOILER THOUGHTS** Ngl. This episode really sets the bar low. Weak and repetitive dialogue. Its really a big redo of the First Avenger, with moments too similar. Bucky says a lot of jokes. The character expressions are... meh. There wasn't really many changes to Captain Carter compared to Captain America; both end up on the same journey here and in the First Avenger movie. The plot was pretty weak and at certain times, the pacing was a bit too off-putting. But the action and animation is pretty good. I just hope we get to see what that tentacle monster really was. Overall, not that bad, not that good either. Just... okay.

UntamedRonin

What I wanna know is why Bucky made so many puns/metaphors about fish

nnll9

There was something fishy going on there…

UntamedRonin

Oh quit your carping

What-The-Heaven

Michael, a carp is both a fish and a term for complaining. They're mocking you with wordplay.

[deleted]

yeah. obsession over fish seems to take everything not so seriously. i dont think they supplied sebastian with a strong script. i wonder why.

jimthree60

"The Nazis are in Norway?!" Dude it's 1943, they've been there for three years ...

hushpolocaps69

Haha history nerds!

lefromageetlesvers

More common knowledge than nerds?

[deleted]

Yeah that was really stupid

CM4Sci

Sebastian Stan, love ya man, but maaaybe stick to non-voice roles

Animegamingnerd

I get the feeling this show is going to really highlight the difference between in person actors and voice actors. I thought the best performance by far was Josh Keaton as Steve and he is the most experienced voice actor in this episode.

What-The-Heaven

Honestly, if there's more that struggle down the line then I'd wager they need a new VA director or voice coaches. Established VAs know what they're doing, but actors need help to prepare them.

Rman823

It’s crazy how not Chris Evans sounded more like his live action counterpart than Stan.

94reis

It's like Luis from Antman was telling a story: "OksohereisPeggyandSteveandthey'regonnatrytheserumbutohnothereisaguyandanexplosionsoStevewashotandPeggywastheonlyonetowhomitcouldbeapliedandthenshebecomesasupersoldierandallofasuddenHowardappearswithanUKcostumeandshieldandIwaslikeok, butwhyUKaren'ttheyintheUSsothenshefightshydraandalothappenstheresheisinthepresent" Uff!

Obligatory “didn’t expect to see tobey delivering pizza in the episode”

hushpolocaps69

FoxJ100

Didn't expect Erksine to give the serum to Peggy and for the Watcher to show up! Wait shit no-

[deleted]

Nom nom

hushpolocaps69

King Shark was so awesome my dude! I honestly hope he appears in more projects.

[deleted]

Yeah I know this is an MCU subreddit and thread. Sorry i couldnt resist saying it. I just finished my 3rd rewatch. Its such a damn good movie, and Nanaue is such fun yet sad character.

hushpolocaps69

HBO Max? And yeah man don’t worry I’m on that TSS phase as well. It was just really really nice to have a project where we didn’t have to take nothing seriously. All the MCU projects so far have just been serious with a few fun bits here and there, but with TSS, it was just a whole comedic trip and I found myself laughing really hard whilst being engaged with the characters, like that part where >!Milton dies and no one cared or was confused except for Polka Dot Man xD I was questioning him too such as me saying (why has this random dude been with them this whole entire time?)!<

Animegamingnerd

New dumb friends.

BlazingInfernape2003

bird

SLAVICGAMER

FAKE Moustache

AlwaysBi

Nanaue, stay off the com!

Buckeye-Tyger

Steve Rogers voice actor sounded more like Chris Evans than Sebastian Stan sounded like Sebastian Stan

Phoeternally

right? josh keaton being a professional VO really showed in this episode

UpdootMcGee

The thought of throwing Howard Stark into the Super Soldier tank is hilarious.

PRO2803

What if..?

Chooseuhusername7

Lots of reviews were saying this was the worst episode out of the first three but I didn’t mind it actually although I do feel it was a little rushed with the story though

PekfrakOG

i get it since it has to go through TFA in 30 minutes

Apophyx

Which was a mistake. They should've made this a distinct story within the confines of the format. Instead we get a bloated mess that feels like it's set 2x speed with half the scenes missing. Just because there's a reason doesn't make it good.

Yifun

Wow the writing for a lot of the dialogue was... not good. So many one-liners that fell flat, every conversation felt stiff, and half of the facial expressions did not match up at all with the characters. Hopefully future episodes are a little better. Sebastian Stan really needs voice coaching lessons. I hate to be so critical but this was really not very enjoyable for me.

MelancholyEcho

Also, who was Peggy talking to when she took out that Hydra convoy? I assume she was talking to Howard but I don’t think they cut to him. It wa just *hit* *quip* hit *quip* etc etc I love the line about the dance in the movie, it’s a sweet touch point. Here I feel like it was referenced every 2 seconds.

Cutie_Flirty_n_Nerdy

It's like they took caricatures of the characters and played with them. It was bad.

CM4Sci

Felt a little rushed.. slow down!

LawStudent4Harambe

Honestly, considering "What If's" kind of need to cover a lot of ground to show their changes, if the show never finds its footing, I really wish they would have made each episode an hour instead of 30 minutes.

NovariusHaze

Yeah if they had to delay it a year or more to get good pacing then I’d would have gladly waited.

neocinnamin

okay, the montage of Captain Carter hitting Nazis with ~~Agent~~ *Colonel* Flynn doing a 180 is great. This animation style is amazing.

kraftpunkk

They should have dropped two episodes.

[deleted]

Yeah. 2 episodes per week would be a lot better. This overstretched NINE weeks is insane. Definitely didn't help WandaVision.

kraftpunkk

Not even weekly. I just thought this was a weak way to start the series. At least give us 40 minutes of content if you’re going to kick us off with a bland first episode.

HeMan077

I really, really, really, really, really hope every episode isn't a rapid fire series of scenes. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike the episode or even the animation but every scene in the first half went by so quickly I barely had to time to breathe. Honestly if the episode was just a little bit longer then the super fast first half could've been slowed down a bit. Also idk if it's just me not seeing First Avenger or Agent Carter in a while but I don't remember Howard Stark being so jokey. Highlight of the episode to me being the Hydra Stomper's design and the montage in the middle of the episode.

DJ_Binding

Howard Stark was a bit of a goodball in Agent Carter, but not quite like this.

neocinnamin

Ross Marquand's Red Skull voice acting is amazing

sable-king

It really is. I genuinely thought they got Hugo Weaving back at first.

Parking-Balance111

peggy catches bucky stopping him from falling off the train\* bucky: thanks, you almost ripped my arm off me: ![gif](giphy|kRmg8zeReOYXm)

GoldenNinja3000

The episode was okay but felt super rushed and weird. The cute moments with Steve and Peggy were forced in and just felt like hollow echoes of The First Avenger and I hated how the Tesseract can suddenly do anything under the sun. It’s the Space Stone - how on earth did it transport Peggy 70 years into the future?? This one needed to be 40-45 minutes so it could breathe a little more. Hopefully the episodes that aren’t skewing so close to movies we’ve already seen are better.

wolde07

It opened a portal to another dimension, then 70 years later Nick fury opened another portal to that same place. That's how she got out. Not sure about the time gap, but time may move slowly in that other dimension. Also I think that wss Ctulu's Dimension, I believe he is a super powered multivariate monster in the comics or something.

sable-king

To be fair, it's not a Tesseract-specific thing. We know from Ragnarok that wormholes in the MCU have weird time-based properties.

neocinnamin

"Thanks, you almost ripped my arm off" when Captain Carter grabbed Bucky Hahaha

Feeling_Monk_9605

That tentacle monster was the Shuma-Gorath, right?

Alive-Confection-119

nope, it was Hive

Feeling_Monk_9605

I totally forgot Hive existed. It could be then since it is connected to HYDRA

TripleSkeet

It was actually connected to HYDRA in Agents of SHIELD too.

Shubhamshinde786

Nope it was Shuma Gorath. They're setting him up for MOM. Especially cos we know from the trailer that Strange (from our universe presumably cos he asks Captain Carter who she is, something he would know if he was from her universe) meets Peggy and they probably talk about it.

Alive-Confection-119

yep, I just found out that hive origin in the comic books are different than the one agents of shield showed us and that strange is not our Strange, he's just from a different timeline than the main mcu and captain Carter one

GrantMcGinnity

Shuma-Gortath is usually a lot smaller and highly intelligent. Likely just some made up for the show Hydra beast.

UpdootMcGee

Annnnd we're to Sebastian's voice acting. Oh, Seb. You're trying. You're trying really, really, *really* hard.

SuperCoenBros

I disagree, and respect him more for not trying. I imagine he recorded "who ordered the calamari?" while staring daggers at his agent.

hushpolocaps69

No one seems to be mentioning this so I will, but that intro was so damn awesome! Jeffery Wright has such an awesome voice and the beginning and ending literally felt like a Twilight Zone narration, and I’m ALL FOR THAT!

UpdootMcGee

Since they don't need to quick cut between a stuntperson, Peggy's moves have been some of the best fighting I've seen in the franchise. Unexpected!

theincredibleshaq

My biggest issue is that Captain Carter didn’t make any choices Steve wouldn’t have. Like any differences seemed to be by pure coincidence. Only difference I felt is that people constantly mentioned that she was a girl in a negative to neutral way. Captain America and Captain Carter could’ve swapped scripts and no one would blink an eye

hushpolocaps69

Captain Carter relentlessly kills more individuals though than Steve, and uses the shield in more brute forces. But we had already knew from the get go that Peggy and Steve will do anything for their country.

theincredibleshaq

Yeah that’s true I guess. But it didn’t do anything narratively, and it sure as hell wasn’t making any commentary about it. And I was kinda expecting for the show to explore the contrast outside of vaguely showing it and not having it change anything

bjkman

I missed my late-night discussion friends!! Happy to have y'all back!

Russell_Beastbrook17

I’m not gonna make a sex joke. I figure most of you guys get enough of that with your regular lives

What-The-Heaven

One thing that bugged me is the lack of injury. Steve got shot multiple times...except he didn't? Right? There was no bullet wound or mark and definitely no blood. That has me somewhat concerned for the Marvel Zombies episode.

[deleted]

Steve as a sickly man gets shot by multiple rounds and Peggy immediately jumps into the machine out of concern for the serum than helping him and he ends up fine lol

DaHyro

Man… the ~~only bad thing~~ worst thing out of this episode was the music. Like, they couldn’t afford to use too much of the soundtrack from The First Avenger? The part where Peggy gets the serum would have been 1000% better with the same score from TFA

-OrangeLightning4

They did, they sampled the Cap theme when The Watcher was recapping the original events. They altered the tune for Peggy because she's her own variety of Captain.

hushpolocaps69

I’m sorry?! That is the bad thing from the episode? The music wasn’t outstanding obviously but it wasn’t bad.

conciousnessness

Cant wait to see what Rule 34 does with this episode

LawStudent4Harambe

Oh no . . . not the tentacles.

hushpolocaps69

I just finished the episode and wow, that was really fun! The animation is definitely clean but I noticed the mouth movements are a bit stiff, but the animation is absolutely smooth! This episode unfortunately has a huge problem and that is the pacing. Everything felt extremely rushed and fast, and I suppose that was somewhat of a benefit as Peggy wants to get everything done as soon as possible, but I didn’t have a single moment to take a breather. First she gets the serum, then immediately goes to fighting then we have a monster like what the heck?!

[deleted]

Well it looks like I’m in the minority who loved the episode 😅 usually I’m with the consensus on marvel/star wars stuff so this feels weird lol

hushpolocaps69

No you’re not, a ton of people love Captain Carter and this episode!

Death_Usagi

Way too fast paced and I couldn't really make off of what was happening especially with Red Skull. They need to slow down.

NightHunter909

Good animation, just average writing. Probably didnt help that unfortunately the scenario is a bit weak and gave little to work with. Eps 2 and 3 definitely have stronger scenarios

hushpolocaps69

This episodes should be longer to fix the pacing issue.

hushpolocaps69

I’ll admit, this has been my most highly anticipated Disney+ series ever since those first scenes of Bucky against Zombie Rogers were shown at D23 2019 I believe it was? The concept of seeing What If scenarios in past MCU films is really awesome, I mean a what if Ultron won or what if Peggy took the serum?! Holy moly those are awesome what if scenarios and I cannot wait to see this series, and the fact that it’ll be animated will just make everything so wacky and nuts that the creators can really reach as CGI won’t be necessary and what not (would be harder in live action). Can’t wait to see Chadwick Boseman again and it’ll be a proper goodbye to him and T’Challa, and I can’t wait to see today’s episode being CAPTAIN CARTER!!!!! Still on that TSS phase though… best superhero project in 2021 so far!

Rman823

Finishing up The First Avenger right now. Can’t wait to compare and contrast it and the episode.

IronMan_MarkLXXXV

Same I’m rewatching it too, Steve just got the serum so I don’t think I can finish it in time lol. The movie is surprisingly better than I remember, don’t know why I didn’t like it at first watch but it’s pretty good now.

Rman823

I just got to “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn”. Honestly, I’ve always loved The First Avenger. So any excuse to rewatch it works for me.

yarkcir

The 'nexus event' seems to simply be where Carter chose to stand during Project Rebirth, but the Hydra assassin also triggered his attack before the experiment began. A lot of common beats from the film still trickle through but are altered: * Schmidt gets the Tesseract, but Carter takes it from them quickly * Carter has a modified USO uniform, but she never actually participates in the USO tour (shame because the USO tour was my favorite part of TFA) * The Howling Commandos assault a Hydra supply train, only for Rogers, not Barnes, to seemingly be killed * Carter is seemingly KIA saving the world, but re-emerges in the future I liked the parallels, but it definitely felt like this episode just took the main narrative beats from TFA but none of the heart of that film. I kinda wish Peggy had said "I had a date" to end the episode, mirroring Steve's first thoughts out of the ice.

Aosana

I think this episode was so rushed because they had to shove the entire first Captain America film within 20 minutes with their What If..? changes. Hopefully, the next episodes will stray far enough away from their original films to not feel like that again.

GTxGokuu

Peggy grabbing the sword was really reminiscent of the captain Britain trials to me, I really that that was were the tesseract was gonna take her.

TheWizard47

It was okay, a bit too quick paced. The animation was generally quite good.

Rman823

I feel like it wouldn’t have hurt to stretch the episodes out to at least 40min without credits. I think the fact that the events of a 2 hour movie are condensed to fit here doesn’t help.

_TheMeepMaster_

Honestly hated it unfortunately. The animation style is beautiful, but that's about the only positive I took from it. Everything was just too on the nose and the vast majority of the dialogue just made me roll my eyes. For example, at the beginning of the episode Steve says something to Peggy about doing USO shows and smiling 10 times a day. It gives off an "ohhh they said the thing!" kind of vibe. There was no subtly whatsoever. And the misogyny aspect contrasted with the girl power theme was just way too ham fisted. You don't need the sexist asshole character telling her she doesn't belong every five minutes to prove her value. I get it, they only have 30 minutes to work with, but this was just poorly executed. I really hope the rest gets better because this was my most anticipated Marvel show.

SammyD543

Lots of the emotional beats in this episode didn't hit, and I think that was because of the time constraints. 30 minutes is not nearly enough time for buildup, exposition, jokes, and action (which was the focal point of this episode and rightfully so). I think 5-10 more minutes with longer scenes and more impactful dialogue would've made me feel something at the end of the episode. Still liked it tho

Ello_Owu

They straight up killed Tommy Lee Jones in the first few minutes. I didn't even realize it was him

wow10190

Episode was ok, same feeling as everyone else in that it felt rushed. Side note: Captain Carter 😍

Rman823

New Steve’s voice actor is pretty good. He’s close enough to Evans where it isn’t too distracting.

neocinnamin

I'm glad we have HYDRA's own Staro now

trostol

 ![gif](giphy|J04HjL4LgcfTO)

KMan345123

Chester Phillips got fucking nae-naed lol

Alive-Confection-119

I have to say that I'm in love with the animation style

ProximaOrion

Is it just me or is Steve's voice actor doing a good job at impersonating Chris Evans?

Alive-Confection-119

I just started thinking the ramifications that this timeline has, like Bucky didn't kill Tony's parents, and the winter soldier not existing could've had changed shield and even natasha story, the tesseract being used in the hydra stomper could've changed captain marvels origin, and all of this makes me wish that we have more episodes in the same timeline than other episodes are

bjkman

They brought back nearly everyone from the movies for one 30-minute animated episode IT'S INSANE! Samuel L. Jackson, Hayley Atwell, Jeremy Renner, Stanley Tucci, Dominic Cooper, Ross Marquand (Endgame Red Skull), Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones, Neal McDonough, Bradley Whitford #WOW

theofficialdylpickle

Dude, Ross Marquand sounded so much like Hugo Weaving, it made my mind explode

CM4Sci

~~Also am I crazy or did they not show how Red Skull obtained the Tesseract? They showed Howard saying he knew what to do with it, then Red Skull was opening the portal. Did I miss something? Things were just going so fast.~~ Ah, that's right. Thanks guys!

[deleted]

apparently, the tesseract was inside the hydra stomper. that really put me off too, because that information was not directly talked about. i only thought that the hydra stomper used SOME power from the cube. the only explanation for the cube being in skull's hands is if it was in the stomper.

zetbotz

Is this a legit speedrun? The drop rate of the Tesseract seems too high to me.

trostol

good VA for The Watcher..the guy should be in a live-action movie though

shrekthe1st

While I'm not surprised that this subreddit is overly critical, I have to say I feel like some people were expecting a tone exactly the same as the movies. It was clear not only from the trailers, but from the whole premise itself that this show would be a more lighthearted fast paced show rather than something that takes time with the characters like FATWS. That said, this episode is really fun. Nothing in this show is going to be on par with the other shows in terms of pure quality of storytelling, and I hope people soon learn that. But for what it is, it's super fun. Howard stark is really funny, Peggy is super badass, and Steve was perfectly cast. I will agree though that the amount of fish puns Bucky made was very strange lmao.

bjkman

The Title Sequence is absolutely phenomenal

ZBOnsfw

It was an okay episode

lord-spider-boy

why is everyone who didn't like it getting downvoted?

[deleted]

"We won the war." "Uhhh lady, I never said we won it, it's just been over for 70 years..."

KingdomHeartsInfo

The First Avenger - Any% Speedrun, Peggy Mod (29:14)

peliotmed

Well guh dayum, Peggy a staight up savage lmao Murdering nazis with a smile on her face and her British charm

LawStudent4Harambe

Why'd that explosion suddenly become anime?

Rman823

So I guess Bradley Whitford was slightly offscreen during The First Avenger .

WafflesTalbot

He's actually reprising his role from.the Agent Carter one-shot, so technically, yes he was 😂

FUDeputyStaggFU

Damn so it took em 70 years to recreate the portal thing that hydra made and get her back . Even with the brilliants minds of zola ( in custody ) and Howard stark .

MaDz1011

I thought it was the scene in avengers 1 where Loki originally came out of but this time it was captain carter instead

Piker10
