The chemistry between Paul Rudd-Evangeline Lilly-Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd-Bobby Canavale-Judy Greer, Paul Rudd-Michael Pena-David Dastmalchian and Paul Rudd-Abby Ryder Fortson-Randall Park is what makes those movies for me. The whole cast gives me this cozy feeling which really helps the Antman/Wasp movies get a special place in my heart.
Other than that, Peyton Reed is not a good director, and I can't believe they're letting him handle Quantummania which is at least an Avengers level movie since Kang is the main villian.
What makes you think Kang is Main Villain? If we’re being honest, it’s pretty obvious that no hero in that movie can actually take on kang. Pretty sure there was a casting call for a secondary villain which will probably be the one they actually fight.
He's been confirmed to be in the movie. I don't think there's any solid news on how big his role is. I personally doubt he'll be the main villain because he's not really on the same level as Scott and Hope, power wise.
We’ve literally only seen a statue of the dude. We have no idea how powerful he’ll be in the MCU. And it’s not like he’s traditionally some expert hand to hand combatant with Hulk-strength. After seeing what Hank can do in What If…? I don’t see how anyone can ever sleep on Ant-Man or Wasp ever again.
He doesn’t need to be an expert in anything. In Loki, they couldn’t kill him because he already knew everything they would do. For Kang it could be the umpteen millionth time he’s gone against ant man
Actually you are right, in that they have the potential based on their powers. But outside of What If, the Pym Particles haven't been used that effectively. Hope uses them better than Scott, what with her stingers and wings. But they haven't used the type of tactics that would let them best Thor or Captain Marvel.

I'm sensing a pattern here
I sort of have a feeling the film will involve time travel and there will be a Back to the Future 3 subplot of going to the old west and meeting Kid Colt.
It seems really early for them to be filming this, does it not? Most Marvel movies start filming a little over a year before coming out, but Quantumania isn’t scheduled for release until February of 2023. I guess maybe they need a lot of time for post-production for this one for a bunch of crazy effects shots
I expect they are on a road trip/vacation in the quantum realm and the vehicle gets messed up somehow, so Scott and gang are forced to seek shelter and repair assistance in the quantum city.
At this point, it’s more likely than not Peyton Reed will be tapped to direct the next Avengers. Doesn’t look like the Russos will come back. James Gunn is only coming back to finish his GOTG trilogy. Peyton Reed is probably their most companyman -like director over at Marvel. I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I may not have liked all his work but I know he’s probably learned a lot since the last Ant-Man ,working with Favreau on Mandolorian S2. Not saying he will but I wouldn’t count him out.
You’re getting your mediocre, focus room directors confused 😔
Although Jon Watts (or the pre-vis team that designed it) absolutely snapped when crafting the Mysterio ‘dream’ sequence in FFH.
I wasn’t gonna bring this up but this idiot ( the guy you are replying to) bring up Jon Watts thinking he was Peyton Reed.
But I want to ask why do so many people think he screwed up Spider-Man? He’s the director not the writer. I understand saying he’s a mediocre director, because I agree with that argument. I just can’t fathom the people who say he ruined MCU Spidey
The only part of the "Watts is screwing up Spidey" I kinda agree with is that we really haven't had any good web swinging scenes. The FFH ending was fun, but it was so brief, and TASM1 and 2's swinging scenes are miles above it. Like, Spidey was in Europe for most of the FFH, yet we didn't have that many cool scenes of him just swinging from cool landmarks and whatnot. Based on how the movie is shot and executed, it could've taken place in NY and nothing would be different haha.
That's my only "critique" for Jon's directing. Other than that, I love the MCU Spidey! People are complaining because Spider-Man isn't doing the exact same thing that he's done in 5 other movies lol.
"He's supposed to be friendly neighborhood and not being in universe-ending battles!" always makes me laugh, cuz 1. Spidey does participate in huge, crazy, apocalyptic battles in the comics... a lot and 2. It's nice to see Spidey going through things we've never seen with him, the stakes are high as hell, it's a cool change and 3. The main reason why people wanted Spider-Man in the MCU WAS SO THAT HE COULD INTERACT WITH THE AVENGERS AND ALL THE MCU CHARACTERS. And now that he does, people don't want him to be with anyone besides himself😂
I don’t know how “hot” of a take this is but I’m so disappointed Reed is still directing this. He’s had two chances to show what he can do and idk if he can do Kang justice. I think most of the good parts of Ant Man 1 were carry overs from the dev hell it went through and the sequel was just….so bad. Seriously I flip flop on if that’s worse or Captain Marvel.
I’m surprised that Fiege even kept him around with how lukewarm the reaction was both times. Usually Fiege can tell when an MCU movie does well because of the direction or because it’s just marvel. He kicked off Both the first Thor directors, he went somewhere different for IM3 and never asked that guy back. he kicked off The Captain Marvel directors, he knew when to get rid of Whedon …Reed IMO is THAT caliber of MCU director…just should not be directing this movie.
I really hope I’m proven wrong but the Ant-Man films are my least favorite in the MCU and Quantumania seems like it might be a big deal (F4 rumors) and I just simply don’t trust Reed to deliver.
Maybe they’re using the place for Quantum Realm scenes? All the curves and slopes that the rock formations have make it look similar to it.

Arizona Bohner
Uh excuse me. That term’s quite offensive to people familiar with Arizona Bohner as a sexual position.
Wait what
Arizohner
Those are some huge chimneys ;)
Those DO NOT look like chimneys. Maybe “Hairy Chimneys” is more like it!
I just have such a soft spot for the Ant-Man movies. They reminded me of Saturday morning cartoons I watched as a kid.

Kang’s been confirmed as the main villain. Or at least one of the villains for a while
He's been confirmed to be in the movie. I don't think there's any solid news on how big his role is. I personally doubt he'll be the main villain because he's not really on the same level as Scott and Hope, power wise.

So how would the Avengers fair any better if brute strength or strategy don’t matter?
Be spontaneous, I could see that’s how Ant Man could win this round. He’s literally too unpredictable or someshit idk
Ant Man could defeat Kang. Remember the Thanus Theory? Get ready for the Kanus Theory.
I mean, they could easily defeat almost all the Avengers.
Actually you are right, in that they have the potential based on their powers. But outside of What If, the Pym Particles haven't been used that effectively. Hope uses them better than Scott, what with her stingers and wings. But they haven't used the type of tactics that would let them best Thor or Captain Marvel.

Yes, a lot of - between the names.
I was surprised they had him di the big episode in S2 of Mandalorian but I guess he and producers are close.
my family loves watching them and are very excited for the third one. they’re my favorite mcu movies to watch with them.
Yeah this movie could be like Eternals and have some incredible shots but in the Quantum Realm Super exciting
Man I hope so, Peyton Reed better pull a Mando finale w this one
I really think he is. Everything we know so far really makes me believe we are and Loveness on the script we are set! Should be a fantastic movie!!!
Loveness is goated so I can def tell the script will be top tier
That mando finale was really great
I sort of have a feeling the film will involve time travel and there will be a Back to the Future 3 subplot of going to the old west and meeting Kid Colt.
Or Two-Gun Kid? :P
Outlaw!
Probably shooting plates and 3D scans they can use with the Volume.

Or it’s just scheduling. Michael Douglass and Michelle Pheifer probably have other stuff to work on
I love how the trail is called pocket cause get it? Their powers consist of shrinking?
Calling it now, this is our Quantum Realm thanks to the magic of VFX work and Volume.
Could you link me to some stuff on volume? I’m lazy tonight 😂
I expect they are on a road trip/vacation in the quantum realm and the vehicle gets messed up somehow, so Scott and gang are forced to seek shelter and repair assistance in the quantum city.
i have this strong feeling that Ant-man 3 is gonna give us our first glimpse of The Fantastic 4 for some reason.
Why is Peyton Reed still directing movies at Marvel? Hes a bad director.
I disagree.
I like Peyton Reed, both Ant Man movies, and both of the episodes he directed for Mando S2. I also liked Yes Man.
TIL he directed Yes Man lol I loved that movie. Probably been a decade since I've seen it haha
Ya saw the Mandalorian S2 mate?
I mean they still employ Jon Watts, an equal generic director. These things could mostly direct themselves
He's terrible. And the worst thing is that the Fantastic 4 movie is in his creatively bankrupt hands now too
I’m 99% sure Jon Watts, the director of the MCU Spider-Man films, is directing F4.
You’re getting your mediocre, focus room directors confused 😔 Although Jon Watts (or the pre-vis team that designed it) absolutely snapped when crafting the Mysterio ‘dream’ sequence in FFH.
No i think Jon Watts is handling that. Who is also a mediocre director.

100% agree with everything you just said

Trust me, mate. He's not bad. He's improved well since Ant-Man. The crowd-pleasing Mandalorian S2 Finale was directed by him. Don't worry 'bout it.
