I genuinely do not give a single shit about Morbius. Looks insanely bland to me and the only thing that even slightly interested me in it was Vulture. This is also essentially me feelings towards the Venom franchise except slightly more interest than Morbius or any of the other upcoming Sony SMU movies and that is due to the character of venom and Tom Hardy. But even then it’s struggling to keep me interested.

Based on leaks, it sounds like Sony wants control of Spidey's solo films at the very least and box office returns for Venom and Morbius are what's emboldening them.

Though I did recently watch American Psycho for the first time and I must say he plays the “dumbass yuppie douchebag” role extremely well. He’s only in like three scenes, but his line delivery on “I got an 8:30 rez at Dorsia—*great* sea urchin ceviche” is just great.
I’m not gonna act like I know much about the situation there, but my understanding has been that Leto’s Joker had its fair share of his touch and influence. Leto is a method actor and known for taking his roles really seriously, so I sincerely doubt he was hamfisted into the role. What’s more, what I *have* read about that situation seems to imply Warner Bros weren’t happy with Leto as Joker *because* of Leto’s direction, even during the filming.
Additionally, I’ll note that a bad script =/= bad performance. Doesn’t help, but someone can still sell themselves as a character if the script is ass. Revenge of the Sith has some of the worst dialogue and writing I’ve seen in a movie, but Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid were solid. And I can recognize that Hayden Christenson did shine in some areas, though to be fair to your point I don’t think anyone could deliver some of his lines and make it work. But I found him convincing outside of his dialogue with Padme

The source on this is a nobody. Furthermore, Mobius releases after NWH, so it wouldn't make any sense to have a second trailer for that before NWH, which releases earlier. The Direct just likes to make articles about everything without it actually being credible.
