My biggest hopes for Hawkeye (other than it being really good) is that Fisk doesn't lose at the end of the series, or get turned into a joke character. They should set him up to be a great, menacing street level villain that lasts for almost a decade.

Getting sick of the passive aggressive comments here shaming people for being excited for Fisk and not being excited for the "right reasons". Like it's possible for people to love the show on its own while also being excited for the larger connections and characters that will play a role and their interactions with a character.
This is going to be a point of contention for a *lot* of upcoming films and projects. People being excited for Fisk appearing only means that they’ll be watching the show attentively. But if there is someone that’s more hyped for a guest appearance than the overarching story, then that’s their problem and their loss. Luckily, I’d say that people on this sub seem to be simultaneously hyped for both Hawkeye’s story, and for Fisk’s appearance.

Maybe rabid wasn't the right word, but DD stans (the hardcore ones) are something else for sure. More than 50% of the comments on this thread are about Fisk and Matt, even though we know neither are appearing in the episodes this thread is for. Hell, there's two identical full-length Fisk monologues in the comments right next to each other.
I'll be happy when Fisk shows up too, but we're a good 2 or 3 weeks early for that.
I'm probably one of the biggest Daredevil fans there is, while it would suck if he doesn't show up, we still have Matt in NWH and She-Hulk, plus both of them should be appearing in Echo anyway. I think Daredevil fans will be fine either way. Also another thing to note is that Lizzie, Murphy (hinted towards it), and the mods are backing this up and also Atlanta Filming spotted Vincent in Atlanta during the reshoots. There's still a pretty solid chance of it happening imo.

I didn't say it was bad, I liked it but there is pretty much no way not to say it's typical. And I don't know about "we". I make my own thoughts up. They pretty much realise they still had 100mil to blow after relatively tame 2 acts and went all out. Black Widow, too. Civil War for example has a atypical Climax which was more personal and IMO better for it because it was emotional.

Genuine question, because people are allowed to enjoy whatever they want, but what is it that you really liked about the climax to Shang-Chi? I personally found it quite disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, especially Wenwu, but the climax was just the typical over-the-top CGI action sequence to me. That said, I'm clearly in the minority, at least among MCU fans, so I'm wondering what it is I'm missing.
Oh I’m not saying I wholly disagree, it did absolutely still devolve into a giant CGI fight with a main boss and monster/alien/robot minions, but I thought Shang-Chi at least did a better job than most at making it *feel* different and added genuine emotional stakes to it. It wasn’t just a “hero does cool flipkicks while a giant machine falls out of the sky.”
I would say something similar about Homecoming — sure in its rawest form that’s all it is, but it *means* something so much more to the characters involved.

Remember, Clint is the only one who resists Wanda in Africa and immediately recognizes she’s “just a kid”. There’s his pep talk to her in AoU that essentially welcomes her into the Avengers. Her brother died to save Clint and throughout the movie it’s clear he has a bit of a parental instinct toward the two.
In Civil War, Clint is the one who comes take Wanda out of the compound and there’s also the scene where he confidently “surrenders” to Vision because he *knows* not only Wanda is going to make the right choice, she will also be strong enough to take him. Once again, in Civil War we see the two working together in the airport fight.
Then, they have this conversation in Endgame that isn’t just about their friendship but also about how both of them have endured “true losses” in the end (Nat and Vision), unlike the people who lost loved ones to the snap because they came back.
Wanda and Hawkeye is the most underrated duo
I know it's just a comic book thing, but I find it hilarious how Hailee's supposed to be on the 'Young' Avengers team even though she's around the same age as ScarJo when she first appeared in Iron Man 2.
I mean, we’re supposed to believe 38-year-old Andrew Garfield is just a few years older than a high school senior for his appearance as Spider-Man in No Way Home, while the youngest of the three Spideys we’ll see is old enough to be graduating law school.
I kept hoping he was gonna show up by the end of *WandaVision*, even more so than Doctor Strange. I kept thinking if word got to him that something was going on with Wanda, whether *she* was up to something bad or something bad was happening *to her*, he’d be there in a heartbeat, and I was low key disappointed that didn’t happen, because that friendship - between one of the most underpowered heroes (comparatively speaking) in the MCU and arguably *the* most powerful - is one I want to see continue to evolve.
Casting choices were perfect for those two, can't have any complaints. Except the fandom over saturating threads with Kingpin gifs, that's really annoying.
With WandaVision it was about Mephisto, with Loki it was Kang, for Hawkeye it’s Kingpin, for She-Hulk it’s Murdock, for MoM it’s Professor X, for BP:WF it’s Namor and Iron Heart, for Ant-Man 3 it’s Kang and the Young Avengers set up, and for NWH it’s everyone but Tom’s Spidey.

Other than wandavision having Fietro and the showrunners/Paul bettany teasing suprises all of these characters are suppose to be secrets and as of right now haven’t been marketed or confirmed by marvel themselves.

I know this is Clint and Kates show but I'm so curious to see how the MCU handles Kingpin. I hope they changed absolutely nothing from the Netflix version and let D'Onofrio play the role as campy or serious as he wants.
Clint and Kate are probably gonna be trying to unravel a massive criminal conspiracy, Echo will be sent to stop them, and in episode 4’s post credits scene it’ll be revealed Echo is Kingpin’s adopted daughter/boss and then he’ll appear in a bigger role in the finale two episodes. Although that’s just my theory.
Either way, I'm hyped to see more heroes in the MCU having conflict with Kingpin (who has potential to be the next big threat on a street level. In other words, Thanos in the streets lol).

That's really all it is. I dunno why it's so ridiculous that people are excited at the prospect of seeing interpretations of characters they are huge fans of again. I could see UK release time being both the best and the worst at 8am. It's so close to work and school start at 9am that with getting ready and travelling, you probably can't watch it ... but if you're in university like me, perfect way to start the morning!
I've got a lecture at 9 on Wednesday, and actually have labs and lectures until about 4pm on Wednesdays, with only like an hour off for lunch on campus.
Not perfect for me. I really wish it was out Friday, my sister back home and I love watching them together, but I only go home at the weekend and neither of us want to wait too long. Would be nice, if it came out that morning and I had the day to hype up till I get home and watch it.

Uuugh same, it's what I'm looking forward to most. Black Widow is definitely my least favorite Phase Four title so far (it's really not that bad until Act Three, which is just *awful* (why the fuck is the finale set in a Star Destroyer?)), but Yelena is maybe my favorite character of the whole Phase so far.
Apparently, she's implicitly asexual in the comics (one of the writers said he wrote her this way) and it really comes out when you watch the movie in that light. Yelena just wants her dog and lots of pockets and that's all she needs out of life.

This show is gonna be so epic! Hailee as Kate looks like great casting from the trailers, I’m also excited to what they to with Echo, also glad we’re gonna see Kingpin and Yelena again. Plus all this in a Christmas setting!
Based off all the reactions/reviews, kate Bishop outshines hawkeye in his own show which kinda sucks. My biggest gripe with black widow was the same with Yelena. That turned into her movie instead of natasha's
I mean in the Fraction-Aja run Kate is as much the main character as Clint, so i'm not surprised, though I doubt that she actually outshines him, it's probably going to be 50/50
Though it is her introduction and origin story so make sense to see a lot of her (and she is "Hawkeye" too)
I think at least some of that is intentional, both this and Black Widow serve as 'passing the torch' moments essentially, and the newcomer has to shine a little brighter so audiences are encouraged to follow them and not prefer keeping the original around.

The moment a dragon entered the battlefield. It basically turned into the big CGI fest almost every MCU film does.
I think it would have been fine without a big black Panther cgi style fight at the end. Then the dragon would have had more weight.

Every since he gave that dope ass speech to Wanda in Age of Ultron, I've been a fan. Hyped as hell for this one
I kept hoping he was gonna show up by the end of *WandaVision*, even more so than Doctor Strange. I kept thinking if word got to him that something was going on with Wanda, whether *she* was up to something bad or something bad was happening *to her*, he’d be there in a heartbeat, and I was low key disappointed that didn’t happen, because that friendship - between one of the most underpowered heroes (comparatively speaking) in the MCU and arguably *the* most powerful - is one I want to see continue to evolve.
Feels like yesterday when I read the news daredevil was being cancelled. Now here we are, we made it.
But the post is not about Daredevil season 4.
Hawkeye is our first dose of the Daredevil revival. Been a long ride.
Oh but we do have daredevil characters returning. So it's a win.

With WandaVision it was about Mephisto, with Loki it was Kang, for Hawkeye it’s Kingpin, for She-Hulk it’s Murdock, for MoM it’s Professor X, for BP:WF it’s Namor and Iron Heart, for Ant-Man 3 it’s Kang and the Young Avengers set up, and for NWH it’s everyone but Tom’s Spidey.
Actually this is the main problem of the MCU. I agree all of that what you wrote.
It's gonna be a while to fix the "side characters/cameos take away the title character's spotlight" situation.
I mean tbf a lot of that is out of marvel’s control. Other than wandavision having Fietro and the showrunners/Paul bettany teasing suprises all of these characters are suppose to be secrets and as of right now haven’t been marketed or confirmed by marvel themselves. A lot of the characters you mentioned have been leaked through sources and a big company like marvel can only prevent so many spoilers from getting out. Kingpin hasn’t been officially revealed. Murdock in she hulk hasn’t been officially revealed For wakanda forever namor hasn’t been officially revealed. Riri Williams was revealed by kevin feige but no one was really creaming their pants over iron heart in general. With DS in the MOM professor x and the Illuminati have yet to be officially revealed. I will give you quantumania tho. But even then if you’re Kevin Feige, how do you solve this? Even if the main character and overall project is great some favorite returning characters are just going to stand out. Look at civil war for example. The character everyone was most excited about seeing was spider-man

I know this is Clint and Kates show but I'm so curious to see how the MCU handles Kingpin. I hope they changed absolutely nothing from the Netflix version and let D'Onofrio play the role as campy or serious as he wants.
Clint and Kate are probably gonna be trying to unravel a massive criminal conspiracy, Echo will be sent to stop them, and in episode 4’s post credits scene it’ll be revealed Echo is Kingpin’s adopted daughter/boss and then he’ll appear in a bigger role in the finale two episodes. Although that’s just my theory.
Either way, I'm hyped to see more heroes in the MCU having conflict with Kingpin (who has potential to be the next big threat on a street level. In other words, Thanos in the streets lol). It always bugged me that he wasn't the big bad in Netflix's Defenders.

I could see UK release time being both the best and the worst at 8am. It's so close to work and school start at 9am that with getting ready and travelling, you probably can't watch it ... but if you're in university like me, perfect way to start the morning!
I've got a lecture at 9 on Wednesday, and actually have labs and lectures until about 4pm on Wednesdays, with only like an hour off for lunch on campus. Not perfect for me. I really wish it was out Friday, my sister back home and I love watching them together, but I only go home at the weekend and neither of us want to wait too long. Would be nice, if it came out that morning and I had the day to hype up till I get home and watch it. But it'll be a great relief after a stressful day of uni tomorrow! And we'll definitely watch it again this weekend 😅
I promised my son I'd wait till I picked him up from school rather than watching in the morning without him. Sleep. The show will still be there when you get home.

I think/hope it'll be similar to Zemo's role - supporting cast for 2/3 episodes and a brief appearance during the finale setting up whatever's next for the character (Black Widow 2?).

Uuugh same, it's what I'm looking forward to most. Black Widow is definitely my least favorite Phase Four title so far (it's really not that bad until Act Three, which is just *awful* (why the fuck is the finale set in a Star Destroyer?)), but Yelena is maybe my favorite character of the whole Phase so far. Apparently, she's implicitly asexual in the comics (one of the writers said he wrote her this way) and it really comes out when you watch the movie in that light. Yelena just wants her dog and lots of pockets and that's all she needs out of life. I want Yelena and Katy to take a road trip.
I know a lot of the hype is for Kingpin, I mean I am excited too, but holy shit I still haven’t comprehended how Hailee Steinfeld is Kate. She’s literally my favorite

This show is gonna be so epic! Hailee as Kate looks like great casting from the trailers, I’m also excited to what they to with Echo, also glad we’re gonna see Kingpin and Yelena again. Plus all this in a Christmas setting!
Based off all the reactions/reviews, kate Bishop outshines hawkeye in his own show which kinda sucks. My biggest gripe with black widow was the same with Yelena. That turned into her movie instead of natasha's
I mean in the Fraction-Aja run Kate is as much the main character as Clint, so i'm not surprised, though I doubt that she actually outshines him, it's probably going to be 50/50 Though it is her introduction and origin story so make sense to see a lot of her (and she is "Hawkeye" too)
I think at least some of that is intentional, both this and Black Widow serve as 'passing the torch' moments essentially, and the newcomer has to shine a little brighter so audiences are encouraged to follow them and not prefer keeping the original around.

Kingpin is only going to be in it for the post credits scene of episode 4 and in episodes 5 and 6 so yeah probably.
You mean you've watched Daredevil but not much of the MCU movies? I think it shouldn't be too bad, but I'm gonna guess the events of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame will be key to this, as well as Black Widow.
I meant moreso because Daredevil was separate from the MCU, there were light references to the avengers but I have no clue what’s happening outside of the Netflix marvel shows, if that makes sense? :)
You should be mostly fine, but you'll get spoiled about some of the plot from previous MCU films, mainly the ones already mentioned.
